SOI Ship-to-Shore Small Group Request Form
Small group connections are for groups who wish to connect less than 100 people to the ship. Groups is the region closest to where Falkor (too) is operating are given priority for small group connections. SOI is only able to host one connection per day, two-three days per week during an expedition.

If your group size is greater than 100 people please fill out the Virtual Assembly Request Form.

Groups located in Central and South America are currently being given date/time priority for small group connections,. Groups located elsewhere are welcome to request a small group connection and we will do our best to fulfill it if we are able.  All connections take place over Zoom and last 45 minutes to an hour in length.

We try our best to fulfill every qualified request. That said, we may not be able to accommodate all requests depending on the demand per expedition or time differences between your location and the ship.

Connections can take place during transits between ports when there is no science team onboard. Transit connections are focused on our crew and maritime careers.

Technical Requirements
•  A laptop with video connection and projector
•  Good sound system/speaker capabilities
•  Decent internet bandwidth, and the ability to connect via Zoom. For a better Zoom experience, we recommend speeds above 20Mbps.

We offer small grants up to $5000 to groups in the region where Falkor (too) is operating to aid in purchasing equipment for Ship-to-Shore connections like laptops, projectors, microphones, and boosted internet. To request a grant application please email outreach@schmidtocean.org with "Ship-to-Shore Small Grants Program" in the subject header.
