Re-Takes

Learning is a continuous process. Students are encouraged to pursue a higher level of understanding in all power standards of a course. 

All students have the opportunity to re-take any 70% assignment that was completed on time. 

    • A re-take is an alternate assignment, exam, or product that uses the original power standard’s rubric and is comparable in rigor and time to the original assignment. If the student demonstrates a higher level of understanding according to the rubric, this will replace the original grade in Frontline.

    • If students retake and score lower, students keep the higher of two grades.

  • If students are out for an excused absence on an assignment due date, assignments need to be turned in within one week of the assigned deadline. 

  • Re-do’s with the opportunity to obtain mastery must be completed by progress report time of the next grading period. 

    • After the progress report has passed, students may make up assignments from previous grading periods by submitting an appeal form for a maximum grade of APP 75, if the initial assignment was completed on time. 

  • Cheating

    • Teacher makes parent contact

    • 10% grade - student will receive a NOE

    • 70% grades - students will get only one chance to redo the assignment within one week

Appeal Form

  • Students who do not turn in an assignment on time can fill out an appeal form and submit it to the teacher prior to attempting a re-take. Teachers have full discretion on accepting an appeal. Denied appeals will receive a grade of MSN (50)

  • After the 9 week grading period ends, students will submit an appeal form to re-do work. If the appeal is submitted after progress reports of the next 9 weeks, they will receive a maximum grade of APP 75 as stated above.
