Over coming months we're looking to extend our occupation in the premises to include the rear section of the building creating a more holistic creative community hub. This includes developing a community space that will in good weather extend into the garden with scope for developing a creative community cafe, gallery and gift shop alongside the studios. It's very much our vision that this will be able to host a range of activities and events run by both GTC and members of GTC.
The hub will also offer a workshop room, project space / workshop, and shoe free training room (upstairs). These spaces will create additional opportunities for us and also help to ensure an improved connection between community and studio holders. These spaces are available to hire with a 50% reduction for members of the collective.
Storage: As you'd expect, a lot of people require storage and unfortunately, as we're committed to making the spaces we have as useful as we can storage is limited and the fairest way to do this it to charge a small fee for temporary storage. We are working together to identify potential solutions longer term for this as a number of members make work that can quickly become hard to store in their space and still have room to work. Its worth factoring your storage needs into the space you tell us you require.
Parking: We have 5 parking spaces available, as things get busier, we are likely to implement a booking system for parking spaces, we also offer secure bicycle parking (capacity for 10 bikes).
Equipment: GTC manage a bank of gazebo's, tables and benches, portable PA and other items that can be hired out, again with 50% off for members that may help get your work out and about.
House Sessions: We host a monthly house session on the 2nd Wednesday of the month for artists entrepreneurs that have their own practice. This helps us to spend some time learning and reflecting together, but also ensure a high level of peer support across the house and wider collective.
Booking Platform: We've invested a chunk of time in setting up a booking platform for activities taking place on our website with an app version available for regulars to the house. If you're looking to run workshops, clubs or other activities as part of your practice, we hope this might help reduce some of the extra time sucks that can go into arranging.
Collective Marketing: We put together a quarterly programme, monthly newsletters and regular social media posts including calendars detailing the work of the collective both at the house and elsewhere. This is not expected to replace the need to market your own activities and events but it might help get a bit more reach.
