About the Collective (the legal bits!)
Good Things Collective CIC (GTC) was established on 6th July 2015 as a Community Interest Company (CIC), originally called The Exchange Creative Community CIC.
The objects of GTC are:
The objects of the company are to design, deliver and support activities which benefit the community and in particular (without limitation) to improve prospects and increase the sustainability of opportunities for residents of Morecambe that improve wellbeing, learning and enterprise.
We will do this by;
● Supporting community ownership of land, buildings and equipment; promoting a circular and sustainable local economy.
● Increasing access to and engagement with arts and cultural activities.
● Improving access to and engagement with learning and skills development opportunities.
● Supporting the incubation & growth of community-led initiatives and enterprise.
GTC is a membership organisation; this means that members inform and influence the activities of GTC through regular ‘Movers and Shakers’ Forums, voting at AGM’s and voting for a proportion of The GTC’s Directors (the group of people who oversee the running of GTC as a company).
Therefore our membership is extremely important to us.
We will not bombard you with lots of literature or appeals – you can choose how we contact you. The only exception is information that we are legally obliged to send you such as notice of an Annual General Meeting. The more you get involved, the more you’ll hear from us.
Membership is open to anyone aged 18 or over who supports the objects and values of GTC. Membership applications are determined by the Directors of GTC.
