| M19 | J | Active | 24/08/224 | Funds | J is a 38-year old male Bangladeshi worker, who had been working in Singapore for 8 years. He was diagnosed with Stage 4 lymphoma in August 2021 after experiencing sudden left-sided weakness. J returned to Bangladesh for treatment. In January 2022, we disbursed $2,000 for 6 chemotherapy sessions and eventually, J was in remission. He returned to Singapore again to work in August 2022. However, his company stopped allowing overtime work as promised. As his salary was too low and no longer sustainable for his family, he went back home after just 6 months here. In April 2023, J returned to Singapore for work again. However, he only managed to work for 3 days before he experienced severe pain in his legs and hips. J consulted a doctor here who found that his lymphoma had relapsed. He returned home to Bangladesh to seek treatment, given his inaccessibility to healthcare in Singapore. He underwent chemotherapy sessions again in Bangladesh, and was in a bad state for several months between scans and chemotherapy—paralysed waist down, bedbound, unable to move. During this relapse, J reached out to us again for assistance with his chemotherapy treatment. Throughout this journey, J's brother has been a tremendous support, taking on the financial responsibility of caring for their parents, J's wife, and J’s two children. From June 2023 to October 2023, we disbursed $4,928 to cover the expenses of his new chemotherapy sessions. As J is unable to work due to ongoing treatment and frequent hospitalization, he also sought assistance for his family's expenses. In November 2023, we disbursed $1,000 (4 months of living expenses) to cover food, school fees, and transport fees. Currently, J’s lymphoma is in remission. However, his doctor advised him to undergo bone marrow transplant as a more definitive treatment for his lymphoma, in light of how quickly his cancer had relapsed. The transplant needs to be done while he is in remission. J has consistently expressed his desire to undergo this transplant, hoping it will give him the best chance at living for his family. Since a bone marrow transplant is expensive (~$20,000 SGD), he has arranged to sell his family’s land to cover part of the costs and has requested support with the remainder. We are disbursing another $2,600 SGD from the Standing Solidarity Fund, and collaborating with Lighthouse Club for more support. We seek to fundraise the remaining $9,500 SGD. | 20/09/2024 | (Tally: $5538.13/$9,500) 24/08 - Lukas Chew (SGD 20.00) - imurmotherinlaw (SGD 20.00) - Nadia Samadi (SGD 50.00) - Zai (SGD 50.00) - Mangay310792 (SGD 100.00) - Bevlyn (SGD 100.00) - Kristie Ng (SGD 70.00) 25/08 - darkknight (SGD 30.00) - nuriyah (SGD 20.00) - JAZZ (SGD 15.00) - celchoo (SGD 30.00) - Amirah (SGD 100.00) - frankie (SGD 10.00) - wx (SGD 50.00) 26/08 - Strangleberry (SGD 10.00) - gldxxx (SGD 10.00) - Syirah (SGD 50.00) - Nitya Sriram (SGD 40.00) - vortexitude (SGD 50.00) 27/08 - Wadiah (SGD 10.00) - LZR (SGD 50.00) - natalia (SGD 50.00) 28/08 - Adlin (SGD 50.00) - redwanhamzah (SGD 50.00) - Benedict Tan (SGD 50.00) 30/08 - esther (SGD 70.00) - Kai Lin (SGD 100.00) 31/08 - ama (SGD 10.00) - Rendell Tan (SGD 200.00) 03/09 - bririon (SGD 5.00) 04/09 - Dylan (SGD 100.00) 07/09 - lanna (SGD 100.00) 12/09 - tiana (SGD 50.00) 13/09 - gracie lou (SGD 20.00) - nuraliah (SGD 33.88) 15/09 - ang yus xin tan suat hong (SGD 627.70) 18/09 - yingxuan (SGD 50.00) - curiouslah (SGD 50.00) - ying (SGD 10.00) - walnads (SGD 80.00) - farid (SGD 20.00) 19/09 - CYH (SGD 50.00) 21/09 - sarahang99 (SGD 50.00) - lanna (SGD 75.00) 24/09 - Vanessa (SGD 20.00) 25/09 - Jumari (SGD 50.00) - yu xuan (SGD 35.00) - dexter (SGD 5.00) 30/09 - Rachelsz (SGD 50.00) 06/10 - z_ (SGD 200.00) 08/10 - JM (SGD 100.00) 17/10 - Berny Tan (SGD 200.00) 19/10 - rugs (SGD 20.00) - mandychng1994 (SGD 50.00) 19/10 - Priya (SGD 30.00) - jo (SGD 45.00) - melissa88 (SGD 40.00) - anu cherian (SGD 50.00) 21/10 - Amirahripin (SGD 5.00) - Nessa (SGD 59.00) 22/10 - Ning (SGD 50.00) - chris yeo (SGD 35.00) - Jaclyn (SGD 40.00) 25/10 - SSH (SGD 30.00) 26/10 - Nat (SGD 40.00) - atjl (SGD 50.00) 27/10 - Kate LIM (SGD 100.00) - Kai Lin (SGD 50.00) - Russel Goh (SGD 50.00) 28/10 - Jun Sheng (SGD 50.00) 29/10 - Jehoshaphat (SGD 150.00) 30/10 - Sandhya (SGD 20.00) 01/11 - PM (SGD 100.00) - atjl (SGD 30.00) - Natalie Eng (SGD 38.00) - griselda (SGD 30.00) 02/11 - ada (SGD 100.00) - mun cheng (SGD 100.00) 04/11 - coco (SGD 70.00) - wendy neo (SGD 33.00) 07/11 - lanna (SGD 30.00) - athirah (SGD 5.00) 13/11 - kristen (SGD 43.55) PayNow - Chen Ai Shan (SGD 25.00) - Tanisha Naqvi (SGD 20.00) - Pang Wen Kang Benson (SGD 188.00) - Khoo Hwee Lin Melissa (SGD 50.00) - Muhammad Rasul (SGD 50.00) - Lee Ann (SGD 15.00) - Yau Xin Yue (SGD 200.00)
| M18 | HN | Fulfilled | 15/07/2023 | Funds | HN is a 50-year-old domestic helper who was diagnosed with cervical cancer. She is now back home in the Philippines, and is scheduled to start treatment on Monday, 17th July. Unfortunately, the unexpected medical expenses are placing a significant burden on her. We are seeking to raise $5,700 for her entire course of treatment, which includes radiotherapy, brachytherapy and chemotherapy. In two recent fundraisers, we supported domestic workers who were also battling with cancer. It feels disheartening to witness similar cases time and time again. When workers fall ill or decide to return to their home countries, they are often treated with indifference and detachment – reflecting the transactional and impersonal nature of how domestic workers are often valued solely for the labor they provide. While we continue to strive for fairer healthcare and employment rights, it is crucial to remember that solidarity and compassion should be the foundation of our efforts. Swipe to see more details on HN’s case, and if you’re able to, please make a contribution via the QR code on Slide 5 by 14th August 2023. | 14/08/2023 | (Tally: $5724.26/$5,700) 16/7 Charing $100 celine choo $20 Cedric Choo $100 Alicia Ho $5 ntzw $50 dika $45.66 17/7 Tipan $5 Mavis Tan $20 Irianti $50 Rachel $500 juliana $5 Felicia $50 18/7 Raedi $500 faizahzak $50 19/7 Kai Lin $50 23/7 John Davis $500 24/7 Caitlin $30 Gabrielle $10 1/8 Yi Jia $50 3/8 Arun $50 Foong $35 Celine $20 Danson $10 4/8 JinHee $50 Sarah $15 Rishi $50 Nabilah $50 Puspawat $5 doggieshaman $50 kavitha $50 seeseejayjay $60 karikaiju $10 Matthew $10 ttxia $30 5/8 Chia $50 6/8 Mariyam $66.60 8/8 jolenanana $35 X $100 Ianna $30 Rasyidah $50 sylv $5 Zee $20 Tabitha $20 HT $50 9/8 Sandra $20 Alyssa $120 10/8 Stephanie Lim $10 Ethos $1072 wormhole $100 The Chai Baba $1140 dea $200 | Melvin (Telegram: @Melvinongg) was coordinating.
| M17 | MS | Fulfilled | 29/03/2023 | Funds | MS is a 49-year old Filipino domestic helper who returned home to the Philippines to undergo a hysterectomy, after she was found to have multiple ovarian cysts and a tumour in her left ovary. Last December, we fundraised SGD $3,500 to cover the costs of her surgery and other medical bills. After the surgery, her left ovarian tumour was sent to the lab to be examined for cancer. Surgeons saw a rectal mass as well, which was also sent for a biopsy. A few weeks later, she received the results and was informed that she did have ovarian cancer. The cancer had spread from her left ovary to her rectum. While her ovaries were removed in surgery, the rectal mass was left as is. Thankfully, she does not need another surgery to remove the rectal mass. Her oncologist advised for 6 cycles of chemotherapy, once every 3 weeks. MS started her chemotherapy in late February, and has since completed 2 sessions. She has expressed that she is feeling depressed, weak and tired. She is also experiencing body aches and only able to consume small amounts of food. Although her initial plans to return to Singapore and work for the same employer are currently on hold, she has found another way to continue working for them. She is now teaching their new helper how to cook through Zoom, and as a result, thankfully, is still receiving her salary. MS is a single mother living with her 3 sons, 1 daughter and 1 granddaughter. Most of her salary is used to cover her living expenses. This leaves her with SGD $200 per month, which unfortunately, is insufficient to manage the extra costs of medical expenses. She has had to borrow money from her neighbour to pay her bills. We are currently seeking to raise SGD $3,100 to cover the expenses of 5 chemotherapy sessions. MS will continue to use her savings to pay for her other medical expenses, including medication, lab tests, and hospital stays. Previously, we shared about a migrant worker's lack of access to healthcare because of a financial barrier, after their subsidies for public healthcare were removed in 2007. As MS' employer was not willing to pay for her medical costs, MS was compelled to postpone her diagnosis & treatment until when she returned to the Philippines, where it is more affordable than in Singapore. She had to make two separate trips: the first for her medical tests that detected her ovarian tumour; and the second trip, a few weeks later, for her surgery. While cancer may not be preventable, barriers to healthcare limit the options and increase complications for workers like MS, especially when there are delays in diagnoses and treatments. This becomes particularly dangerous when untimely access to treatment could potentially affect a worker's chances of survival. We will continue to keep in touch with MS to support her through her chemotherapy sessions, both emotionally and financially. | 21/4/2023 | (Tally: $3130/$3,100) 29/3 fish $30 29/3 Hui Suan Chung $20 29/3 Tan Tse Ling $3 29/3 Kwan Yin Tong $50 30/3 Send to my account $50 30/3 Nurul Al $100 31/3 Jen Quinn $50 31/3 iliyana $10 31/3 Caitlin OHara $10 01/4 John Eapen $100 01/4 Tipan $10 02/4 yz $150 02/4 vila $30 04/4 LAU YUN QI $100 04/4 ANATHAPINDIKA $39.04 04/4 Sophia Lin $10 04/4 agatha $50 05/4 Aqilah $50 07/4 ila_CikAdek $30 07/4 YUHANIS $5 07/4 indah $10 07/4 JACQUELINE $35 08/4 TAN HAN YING ABIGAIL $100 08/4 clara $30 08/4 thy $20 08/4 Prema $50 08/4 min $1 08/4 Beans $20 08/4 Jenn Champion $20 09/4 Jenn Champion $25 09/4 Gabrielle Cheong K $5 09/4 Sharon Wong $30 12/04 ch $20 13/04 celchoo $15 13/04 GRACE WEE JINGSI $1800 14/04 Chia $50 14/04 i rounded it up $1.96 | Tom (Telegram: @tom_tom_5) was coordinating.
| M17 | MS | Fulfilled | 28/12/2022 | Funds | MS is a 49-year old Filipino domestic worker who has been working in Singapore for 12 years. In October 2022, she was found to have multiple ovarian cysts as well as a tumour in her left ovary during a health check-up in the Philippines, which she had paid for out of pocket. She was advised by her doctor to get a hysterectomy (removal of the uterus). Her employer was not willing to pay for her medical costs - be it in Singapore (where they are covered by insurance), or in the Philippines (where it would be cheaper). MS has worked for this employer for over a decade. Given the higher cost of treatment in Singapore, MS decided to return to the Philippines for her surgery, and on 12 December 2022, she underwent a successful hysterectomy. MS was given 2 months of advance salary by her employer to cover some costs, but the amount was inadequate. Earlier this month, we sent MS $1,500 via our Standing Solidarity Fund (SSF) to cover the costs of her initial hospitalisation deposit, which she had paid for by taking a loan from her neighbour. She needs a further $3,500 to cover the full costs of her pre-op labs, surgery, hospitalisation stay, medications, & transport, etc; while she focuses on recovering, and is currently unable to work. MS is a single mother, and she is keen to return to Singapore in good health to resume work for the same employer in the future. | 31/12/2022 | Melvin (Telegram: @Melvinongg) was coordinating.
| L04 | VR | Fulfilled | 1/10/2022 | Funds | ‘VR’ is a 35 year old shipyard worker who took loans to pay for his father’s medical bills and funeral earlier this year. VR’s father battled with kidney issues and eventually passed away in July this year. VR took some of this loan with interest and is seeking support to pay off this debt by the end of this year, which is also when he plans to leave Singapore to head home and start a family. VR has taken a loan of a total of INR 5 lakhs (~SGD 8,620), and has paid off INR 2 lakhs (~SGD 3,450) of this loan. The remaining sum is approximately SGD 5,200 and he is seeking support for SGD 3,900 as he has a payment plan to cover the rest of this amount through his monthly salary of SGD 650. VR’s loan was taken from personal friends and people in his village, and his mother also had to pawn her gold to afford her husband's healthcare costs. With his monthly salary, he has to support his mother and grandmother, pay back his loans, and cover his daily expenses in Singapore. VR shared with us how dangerous his work is everyday as a cleaner at an oil chemical plant, where he operates a high pressure hydrojet to clean shipping equipment. He has worked in Singapore for 4 years and yet his monthly salary is only SGD 650, despite the risk undertaken & the skill set required for this job. In many parts of the world, high-risk jobs like these have risk pay factored into one’s salary. This is not the case in Singapore for most migrant labourers, mainly due to 1) Singapore’s use-and-discard treatment of migrant workers, which is emboldened by our labour policies; and 2) the lack of independent labour unions that can collectively bargain worker’s wages. As we organise towards systemic change, we must continue to make sure no individual is left behind in a system that places profit over people. We seek your solidarity in supporting VR’s dream of returning home debt-free so he can start his future family with a peace of mind. | 30/10/2022 | (Tally: $3,950.50/$3,900) 31/10 Rachel - $20 Maevis - $30 Anya - $50 1/11 Jessica - $102 hyms - $50 louisab - $50 Loh Chi - $20 JinHee - $50 Sharon Wong - $20 Berny Tan - $100 ry yong - $20 Nidhi - $55.50 Koon Yen - $100 Syahmi - $5 walnads - $50 2/11 Fahimah - $50 Yeong Si Han - $5 3/11 San - $100 Shien - $30 Nadhirah - $54 11/11 Amy - $40 Ianna - $50 Adnan - $20 18/11 Maryam - $200 Ravi - $200 20/11 Clifford - $10 22/11 Jayashree - $50 23/11 Shera - $20 snoentil - $300 Deirdre - $200 24/11 Juliana - $250 jay - $50 louis - $20 25/11 JinHee - $50 Hab - $50 Vanessa Koh - $30 Sara - $50 26/11 Kai - $1 30/11 Gabrielle - $5 2/12 MumTaj - $50 3/12 Nurul - $100 Tricia - $10 Shien - $200 4/12 maggietan - $50 Tan - $70 7/12 Marissa - $30 Gabrielle - $5 8/12 ananya joshi - $50 15/12 Tammy - $828 | Melvin (Telegram: @Melvinongg) was coordinating.
| M16 | MN | Fulfilled | 26/9/2022 | Funds | ‘MN’ is a 44 year old domestic helper who is undergoing treatment for Stage 3 breast cancer in the Philippines. She first discovered a lump in her right breast in October 2019 while working, and ignored it at first; she kept working until April 2022 when she went back to the Philippines to take care of her mother’s health. While visiting, MN experienced severe bleeding from her breast and she was found collapsed in the toilet by her family. She was rushed to the hospital where her haemoglobin level was 57g/L (usually between 120-150 for women), and she needed 4-5 bags of blood transfusion. After a CT scan, mammograms, and a biopsy, she was diagnosed with breast cancer. MN has been receiving treatment in the Philippines since. MN’s doctors advised her to begin chemo in the last week of July, and she has been attending chemotherapy sessions every 2 weeks. The frequency of these sessions will increase as she progresses in her treatment. Since April, MN has spent all of her savings on her hospital bills and daily expenses, and is currently depending on our team for support. We have sent MN $1,900 via the SSF thus far, and after discussing with her, have decided that a larger fundraiser would be more feasible going forward to support her needs. MN had worked in Singapore for 6 years before recent events led her to return to the Philippines and her current health situation. Currently, she depends on her family for finances, and is unable to pay for her cancer treatment on her own. She supports a 10 year old son, and has aspirations to continue working as a domestic helper once she recovers from her cancer. We are fundraising $10,816 for cost of chemotherapy and medications. | 26/10/2022 | (Tally: $7,224.50/$5,660) 20th Oct: Amount was previously $10,816, and was revised down to $7,560 after a change in MN's chemo schedule. 21st Oct: This $7,560 amount has been corrected to $5,660 after an error in calculations from our team - we had erroneously included the earlier non-fundraiser SSF pledge to the final tally. MN's listing has been fulfilled as of 21st Oct, and the latest contributor, Grace, who made a large contribution to fulfill this need, generously requested for the excess amount from their contribution to still go to MN for her future needs. 12 | L03 | M | Deadline has passed | 24/6/2022 | Funds | M is a 43-year old Malaysian Tamil worker who has worked in Singapore for 20 years with a furniture moving company. He recently came into financial hardship due to two medical emergencies and a death in his family. In April 2021, his brother suffered a stroke that rendered him unable to work. In January this year M’s father passed away, and just last month, in May 2022, his brother’s wife had to undergo a heart operation. To pay for both these medical emergencies and his father’s funeral, M had to borrow money from his colleagues in Singapore and his relatives in Malaysia. Some of these loans were offered to M with high interest rates of up to 10%, but he had no choice but to accept for urgent need of money. He has been trying to pay these loans off for the better part of a year while being the sole breadwinner of his entire family since his brother’s stroke. On top of this, he has to pay for his own rent and meal costs in Singapore. Every month, he pays off what he can using his salary, and has to resort to loaning more money for day-to-day necessities. Because of the high interest rates, some months he ends up only paying off the interest and not the principal sum loaned. At this point M is trapped in the vicious cycle of incurring debt to pay off debt. Earlier this month, we sent him SGD $1,000 from our Standing Solidarity Fund (SSF) to help him settle an urgent loan. We are seeking to raise SGD $4,000 to help him settle all his debt, so that he can move forward with his life beyond this difficult period of time. | 24/7/2022 | (Tally: $1,450/$4,000) Amount previously pledged from SSF: $1,000 24/6 Low Koon - $200 24/6 Jessica - $101 24/6 Arveen - $100 24/6 John Eapen - $150 24/6 Maevis - $30 24/6 Tan Tse - $5 24/6 Meena - $15 24/6 Tan - $5 24/6 Priscilla - $20 24/6 Jade - $20 25/06 25/06 25/6 Lisa - $50 25/5 Lisa - $100 25/6 Zone - $10 25/6 Dave - $20 25/6 Marsya - $20 25/6 Katherine - $20 25/6 Chia - $50 26/06 Jayashree - $100 27/06 Aishah - $20 30/06 Jing Yi - $2.10 03/07 Nurul- $100 6/07 Tong - $100 Gabrielle - $7 8/07 Jean - $50 9/07 Amalina- $5 Anya - $150 | Araliya / Anya (Telegram: @isobelanya) wa coordinating.
| S01 | JB | Fulfilled | 25/7/2022 | Funds | JB is a 40-year-old Filipino domestic helper who was wrongfully terminated from her job in October 2021 (i.e. without notice period or salary in lieu), after facing unfair and exploitative working conditions. She had been working for almost 8 months from 6AM-11PM daily and was not permitted an off day. JB also mentioned having to wash her employer’s 5 cars every day and was only paid $580/month for an average of 150 hours of work per week. This constitutes an hourly wage of less than $1. The absence of a minimum wage law in this country allows employers to work their employees to the bone for an amount that is at their discretion. We sent her $300 via the SSF in Oct 2021 as cash-in-hand and for her new job search. However, she recently got in touch again to share that she has not been able to regain employment in Singapore, and her husband’s job as a fisherman is not enough to sustain their family. Her family spends 15,000 pesos/month on their needs, so we sent her another $745 via the SSF in July 2022 for 2 months of expenses. We are conducting a fundraiser for another 4 months, till she is able to re-enter Singapore via an ethical agency. 14 | M15 | S | Fulfilled | 7/4/2022 | Funds | S (M15) is a 30-year-old Bangladeshi woman whose late husband, H, was a migrant worker in Singapore. He passed away in June 2021 from liver failure after presenting with an episode of vomiting blood just a week prior to his death. During the week-long hospitalisation, he was found to have Hepatitis B that was undetected during his pre-employment health screening. It is likely that he developed liver cirrhosis over time from Hepatitis B. He succumbed to his illness on 3 June 2021 and is survived by his wife S, and their 5-year-old daughter. H came to Singapore 15 months before his death with the primary intention of earning enough money to pay for his daughter’s heart operation. She has a congenital heart condition, amongst other medical issues, and the recommended heart operation cost 6 lacs (approximately $9,500 SGD). As is the case with most migrant workers, he incurred a massive debt coming to Singapore and ended up passing away with less money than he had to begin with. Using some funds sent to her by H’s employer, his friends who are also migrant workers, and the Singapore Bangladesh Society, S managed to pay for her daughter’s Atrial Septal Defect (ASD) closure, and pay off H’s outstanding debt. S and her daughter are currently staying at the Firoza Badi Disabled Children Hospital where her daughter is receiving treatment. She hopes to take care of her daughter full time for 2 more months before setting up her own garment business. Our fundraising goal is $2,000+ which will make 4 months of S’s daughter’s healthcare expenses along with the one-time cost of setting up her garments business; however we will be keeping the fundraiser open till 24th April so as to accommodate as many contributions as possible. | 24/04/2022 | (Tally: $3,135/$2,000) 7/4 Maevis - $30 7/4 Cel Choo - $15 7/4 J Wong - $30 7/4 Muneerah - $10 8/4 Ifwat - $5 8/4 Lisa - $25 8/4 Aisyah - $20 8/4 Mindy - $50 8/4 Dil - $500 8/4 MC - $50 8/4 Amanda - $30 8/4 Rosel - $10 8/4 John - $200 8/4 Olivia - $200 9/4 Ruoning - $100 9/4 Aishani - $800 10/4 Maryam - $300 12/4 Muntasir - $500 (via Donorbox) 12/4 Pijush - $260 (via Donorbox) | Kai Lin (Telegram: @ohkailin) was coordinating.
| L02 | J | Fulfilled | 24/2/2022 | Funds | J is a Bangladeshi migrant worker who experienced pain in his anal region for a prolonged period while he was in Singapore. He went for a couple of preliminary tests that did not reveal anything so doctors advised further exploratory testing. However, his employer began asking about salary deductions—via a supervisor who was likely also a migrant worker—so J stopped his visits to the hospital even though the pain had not subsided. He returned to Bangladesh in April last year due to his boss’ non-compliance and his need to seek medical treatment. He saw a doctor who identified that he had an infected anal fistula. As a result he was scheduled for an emergency day surgery to remove the fistula tract. To pay for this he took a loan of 1.8 lac (equivalent to SGD $2,800) to cover the cost of the surgery and miscellaneous medical costs. The loan is informal and the lender does not charge interest in the first year, which lapses in April 2022. Beyond this timeline, the interest charged is a balloon interest rate of 30%. We are seeking to raise SGD $2,800 by 15th March to help J repay this loan. Rightfully, it is a cost that should have been borne by his employer in Singapore via insurance but as we explore in the following slides, it is a responsibility that many employers default on. 16 | M10 - Second Fundraiser | JP | Fulfilled | 3/3/2022 | Funds | JP (M10) is a 41 year old Filipino domestic helper who was diagnosed with cervical cancer in March 2021 at KK Hospital. She worked in Singapore for 8 years and had been with her most recent ex-employer for 9 months before learning about her diagnosis. Her employers terminated her contract and booked her on a flight back home during her hospitalisation, while waiting for the diagnosis, and she is currently undergoing chemotherapy in her hometown, Ilo Ilo. We previously conducted a fundraiser for JP’s chemotherapy so this case is not an unfamiliar one. You can refer to our previous post for both a detailed breakdown of this case and an outline of employer negligence and other systemic issues, especially when it comes to migrant workers’ health and overall wellbeing. In our first fundraiser, we supported JP with 1) funds via the SSF for an emergency hysterectomy in Ilo Ilo; as well as 2) a fundraiser for chemotherapy. Last month, we learnt that JP needed some additional funds for two more radiotherapy procedures as part of her cancer treatment – tomotherapy, followed by brachytherapy. We sent JP SGD $2,700 in January via the SSF for the tomotherapy treatment, which constitutes 25 sessions in 25 days. Now, she is at the end of her tomotherapy treatment, and is in need of funds for her brachytherapy sessions. Brachytherapy costs SGD $2,500 and we seek to fundraise the full amount by 11th March so JP can make the transition between therapies as smoothly as possible. The good news is that once her treatment is over, she will likely be in much better health and fit to support her family once again. | 11/3/2022 | (Tally: $2640.28/$2,500) 3/3 Aditi - $20 (paynow) 3/3 a - $40 3/3 Jayashree - $100 3/3 Siti - $5 3/3 Celchoo - $15 3/3 Loh Chi - $50 3/3 athirah - $5 3/3 Advitiya - $5 3/3 Ryan Cheong - $100 3/3 Rachael - $50 3/3 Jean Loo - $300 3/3 Ru Yun - $30 3/3 Acacia - $10 4/3 Dione - $10 4/3 krystel - $2 4/3 Cherie - $50 5/3 naaana - $50 6/3 jiahan - $40 - 7/3 Maevis - $30 8/3 Sammie - $15 (paynow) 8/3 Farheen - $10 8/3 Berny - $100 8/3 patchoulipearl - $10 8/3 Shriya - $20 8/3 Misha - $15 8/3 Jean Goh - $100 8/3 Mumtaj - $50 8/3 Ianna - $100 8/3 Pavithra - $50 8/3 Joann Heng - $50 9/3 Jenn Champion - $181 9/3 Rachel - $50 9/3 Melissa - $100 9/3 Mairsarah - $40 9/3 yams - $15 9/3 Liana - $20 (paynow) 9/3 Crunch - $50 (paynow) 9/3 Po Yew Teng - $612 9/3 Sueanne Amelia - $15.28 10/3 Arianne Reyes - $125 (via paypal) 9/3 Nancy - $16 (diverted to SSF as need met) 10/3 Tish - $20 (diverted to SSF as need met) | Jill (Telegram: @jellymould) was coordinating.
| M13 | S | Fulfilled | 13/9/2021 | Funds | ‘S’ (M13) is a 29-year old migrant worker from Thanjavur, India, who worked in Singapore for 4.5 years in both the construction & waste management industries. ‘S’ recently returned to India for treatment after a diagnosis at SGH revealed that he was suffering from end stage renal failure (ESRF). He received this diagnosis after visiting the hospital for blurred vision and while admitted at SGH he was informed that his kidney disease was at Stage 5 (end stage) and that he was in need of immediate dialysis to prolong his life. Doctors in Singapore advised him to seek a transplant, as a lifetime of dialysis would be very expensive given that ‘S’ is only 29-years old. ‘S’s father in India volunteered to donate one of his kidneys to him and as they are family members, the chances of organ rejection reduces significantly. Given the high costs of treatment in Singapore and potential long-term benefit of a kidney transplant, ‘S’ chose to go to India for his treatment. We are fundraising SGD 11,244 out of the overall cost of SGD 14,244 by 15th of October. We are allocating SGD 3,000 to ‘S’ listing from our Standing Solidarity Fund. He can book a surgery as long as he has the money to pay for it, and his hope is that he can get the surgery in late October. If we do not fundraise the SGD 11,244 by then, ‘S’ will have to book a later surgery date. A later surgery date will mean ‘S’ will be incurring extra costs for additional months of dialysis, approximately $600 SGD/month, and every penny he uses on his dialysis is money he loses out to use for his surgery, which is the treatment he needs. 18 | L01 | A | Fulfilled | 28/7/2021 | Funds | A (L01) is a 29 year old Bangladeshi migrant worker who was recently referred to us by HealthServe. He had borrowed money from four of his colleagues (who are also Bangladeshi migrant workers), and a couple of friends back home to pay for an operation for his father (which totaled SGD $5,900). His father recently experienced a serious stroke in Bangladesh. ‘A’s situation is especially difficult as he lost his mother in December 2020, and has come to Singapore to work multiple times. Each time he has paid high agent fees, and currently, his employers are cutting $200 a month from his paltry salary to offset the quarantine costs when he entered Singapore - which is illegal. He and four of his friends gave up all the savings they had to send for his father’s treatment , following which they did not have enough money to pay their respective food caterers for daily meals. Through an SSF (Standing Solidarity Fund) disbursement of SGD $1,000, we were able to send enough money for all five men to pay their caterers and have enough meals for the month. We are now fundraising for a total amount of $4,900 for ‘A’ to repay the loan he took from his friends to pay for his father’s surgery. | 8/30/2021 | (Tally: $4919/$4,900) [$1,000 previously sent from Standing Solidarity Fund] 28/7 Nathasha - $50 28/7 Anon - $5 28/7 Sarah - $50 28/7 Katie - $50 28/7 Jean - $20 28/7 Rose - $20 28/7 Tan - $5 28/7 Yelhsaa - $10 29/7 Sharon - $100 29/7 Nina - $10 29/7 Izzati - $10 29/7 Suci Dian - $25 29/7 Siti Nur - $100 29/7 Anon - $25 29/7 Ninekinds - $50 29/7 Meghan - $50 29/7 Avril - $100 29/7 Syaza - $50 29/7 Beatrice - $150 29/7 Bianca - $20 29/7 Ahlingwei - $5 29/7 Scott - $10 29/7 Ariel - $ 100 29/7 Wn - $20 30/7 Liz - $50 30/7 Yee Shuen - $50 30/7 Dawnorreina - $3 30/7 Salwa - $20 30/7 Anon - $10 30/7 Hing Yee - $10 30/7 Ei - $20 31/7 Elizabeth - $50 31/7 Melissa - $50 31/7 Avonda - $50 31/7 Makoto - $15 31/7 Anneliese - $80 31/7 Wear We Are - $37.20 1/8 Nicholas - $50 1/8 Pho - $20 1/8 Dawn - $100 1/8 Roisin - $5 1/8 Qinny - $50 1/8 SY - $100 1/8 SL - $50 3/8 Nur - $5 3/8 Lina - $27 3/8 Liyena - $60 3/8 Asri - $50 3/8 Fazlina - $200 3/8 Soh - $100 3/8 Clara - $150 3/8 Faizah - $20 4/8 Hairiani - $50 4/8 Suhayla - $15 4/8 Ho Zhi - $20 4/8 SC - $300 4/8 Szeto - $50 4/8 Nat - $10 5/8 Janessa - $200 5/8 Amanda - $275 6/8 Shermin - $12.50 6/8 Amanda - $50 6/8 Stef - $30 6/8 Rash - $20 7/8 Younghyun - $20 8/8 Kristen - $50 8/8 Irenaeus - $250 8/8 Lisa - $20 8/8 Jiaying - $20 9/8 Nurul - $50 10/8 Cbarcellona - $40 10/8 Anon - $150 10/8 Izlyn - $20 10/8 Aisyah - $10 12/8 Anon - $10 12/8 Nur - $5 12/8 Minsoo - $30 12/8 Lian Zhi Qi - $10 12/8 Minglee Tan - $50 13/8 Dika - $20 13/8 Rachel - $66 15/8 Pava - $50 16/8 Mel - $30 17/8 Boon Pin - $200 22/8 Jefferson - $20 29/8 Ryan - $50 29/8 John - $200 30/8 Preethi - $10 1/9 Deesha - $19.30 1/9 Eleanor - $19 | Athirah (Telegram: @srinurathirah) was coordinating.
| C01 | W | Fulfilled | 12/8/2021 | Funds | Ms. W (C01) is a 52-year old Chinese national who was recently referred to us by a local Family Service Centre. She is married to her Singaporean husband, who is a taxi driver, since 2015 and is seeking to raise SGD $1,000 to pay for quarantine fees for her trip back to China. Currently, Ms. W is on a social visit pass and has been returning to China every 3 months pre-Covid. Her last return trip was in October 2019. She was due to return to China again in February 2020, but the flight was cancelled as the Covid-19 situation in China got worse. In July 2020, she bought another ticket but it was cancelled again and she has been residing in Singapore since. Recently, Ms W received a notice from ICA that she needs to leave Singapore by 12 July 2021 - otherwise, she would be charged/fined for overstaying. She and her husband requested for an extension from ICA and purchased a flight ticket to leave Singapore on 27 August 2021. Due to the current Covid-19 situation, overseas returning citizens of China are required to serve a quarantine order which costs 600 RMB per day (~SGD $125). They will also have to serve additional quarantine if they make an additional transit to another provincial state. As Ms W’s hometown is in Heilongjiang and there is no direct flight, she would need to serve quarantine orders twice. These two quarantine periods add up to 21 days, costing approximately SGD $2,700. The quarantine fee is unmanageable for Ms W and her husband. Ms W’s social visit pass status disallows her from working in Singapore, and she does not have any income or any next-of-kin in China to help. Her husband’s income has been poor since Covid-19 started; his savings have also been depleted after purchasing Ms. W’s plane ticket. Both Ms. W and her husband have tried various methods to obtain the quarantine fees, such as pawning and borrowing from friends. They have managed to raise money to cover her plane ticket, pre-departure swab test, and partial quarantine fees. However, she is still short of SGD $1,000. | 8/20/2021 | (Tally: $1,018/$1,000) 12/8 Priscillia - $20 12/8 Katie - $10 12/8 Minsoo - $20 12/8 Naz - $20 12/8 Siti Nurkhalilah - $50 12/8 Minglee Tan - $50 12/8 Yeong Si Han - $5 12/8 Dika [Paynow] - $50 12/8 @fiarouge [Paynow] - $5 13/8 Bvlyn - $10 13/8 Amanlia - $10 13/8 Rosepxx - $25 13/8 Natalie - $10 13/8 Yan Xin Ling - $2 14/8 Ryan - $50 15/8 Lexine - $20 15/8 Ashiley - $5 16/8 William - $10 16/8 Meenakshi Ilango - $5 16/8 Clara - $50 16/8 Caren - $30 16/8 Kenroi - $328 16/8 Nurul Ain Binte Jamil - $48 16/8 00 - $75 17/8 Charlene - $10 17/8 Yanqin [Paynow] - $100 | Kai Lin (Telegram: @Ohkailin) was coordinating

We are now fundraising for a total amount of $5,500 SGD (~200,000 PHP) to pay for her chemotherapy sessions and any tests or medication that she needs. | 16/8/2021 | (Tally: $5699.46/$5,500) [$1,500 previously sent from SSF] 28/7 Yelhsaa - $10 28/7 Tilly - $5 28/7 Lim $10 27/7 Amanda Ong - $20 27/7 Issa $25 27/7 Maru Miranda - $100 27/7 Shuqi - $50 27/7 Lee Ting Yee - $5 27/7 Enji - $10 27/7 Wei - $20 27/7 Anonymous - $20 27/7 Nicolas Chew - $5 27/7 Kelly - $20 27/7 Ivana - $10 27/7 Benedict Tan - $25 27/7 Rica - $15 27/7 Rebecca - $100 27/7 Val - $2 27/7 Nich - $100 27/7 Sergio - $10 26/7 Claris - $150 26/7 Yins $30 26/7 Chen - $25.80 26/7 Li An - $10 26/7 Ping - $100 26/7 Jillian - $250 26/7 - Jemma - $50 26/7 - Nursarah - $5 26/7 HY - $40 26/7 Anonymous - $20 26/7 Chloe - $20 26/7 Jessica - $100 26/7 Jenn Champion - $10 26/7 Sarah Cheong - $100 26/7 NamiraR - $30 26/7 Claire Phua - $100 26/7 Rachel Han Jian - $20 26/7 Thea - $200 26/7 Charlene - $20 26/7 Rachel - $20 25/7 Kai Yi - $100 25/7 Kellynn - $30 25/7 Mas - $20 25/7 Mohamad - $50 25/7 Yoko - $10 25/7 Cindy - $5 25/7 Ying - $20 25/7 Nicole - $20 25/7 Nicole - $14 25/7 Jia Xuan - $25 25/7 Kaelyn Ho - $100 25/7 Kuruki - $30 25/7 Nur Radhiah - $5 25/7 Van - $50 25/7 LACDAO - $30 25/7 Keren - $50 25/7 Hilmy - $300 25/7 Seko - $2 25/7 Lisa - $10 25/7 Rinta - $100 25/7 Nina - $10 25/7 Jane - $20 25/7 Chang Da - $100 25/7 Karishma - $100 25/7 Ryan Chng - $1 25/7 Chee - $50 25/7 Sarah Chew - $50 25/7 Kat - $6 25/7 Justin - $20 25/7 Hong Kai - $50 25/7 Shirmin - $20 25/7 Izzy - $50 25/7 Bernard Wee - $100 25/7 Danielle - $100 25/7 Estella Ho - $80 25/7 Ilyda - $100 25/7 Wong Jun Mei - $10 25/7 Kellyteohsf - $50 25/7 Abigail Choo - $20 25/7 Kheng Leng - $50 25/7 Gabrielle Cheong K - $7 25/7 Kacine - $15 25/7 Hu - $5 25/7 Anonymous - $20 25/7 Woo - $5 25/7 Pratyay - $10 25/7 Thaddaeus Tan - $20 25/7 Cara - $50 25/7 Nic - $10 25/7 Shernice - $20 25/7 NOMY - $100 24/7 Cedric Choo - $250 24/7 Cel Choo - $10 24/7 Rose - $30 24/7 Seo - $20 24/7 Lee Chengkang -$15 24/7 Tham- $100 24/7 Nazihah - $15 24/7 Hongkai - $20 24/7 Michelle Low - $10 24/7 Juliette Chia - $100 24/7 Xinwei Damien - $50 24/7 Hab - $50 24/7 Acacia - $20 24/7 CYH - $50 24/7 00 - $50 24/7 Kristen - $30 24/7 Shannon - $30 24/7 Nur - $50 24/7 Liau Yun Qing - $20 24/7 Liying - $20 24/7 Mei - $50 24/7 Yan Xin Ling -$5 24/7 Lynn - $6.66 24/7 Deirdre - $40 24/7 Dawn - $60 24/7 Ashlafiee - $100 24/7 Nurul - $100 24/7 Lim Si Hui - $100 24/7 Nessa Swinn - $50 24/7 Shivani - $10 24/7 Anonymous - $5 24/7 Chen - $100 24/7 Sharon Wong - $50 | Cel (Telegram: @celinechsy) was coordinating
| M11 | S | Fulfilled | 8/7/2021 | Funds | S’ was referred to us by HealthServe because he needed to replace his damaged phone before returning to Bangladesh after a successful WICA case outcome. Using the Standing Solidarity Fund (SSF), our team was able to send ‘S’ $500 SGD as a small sum for his basic medical follow-ups in Bangladesh, and to support his family. ‘S’s initial phone need was met quickly after a public callout on Instagram for phones put us in touch with a donor. However, upon meeting ‘S’ we learnt that he had a few other pre-existing needs. The WICA case he was involved in was a claim for a 2019 workplace injury to his back, leg, and finger. Since that injury and the opening of a WICA injury claim case, ‘S’ has been unable to work and has been living in Singapore on a Special Pass. For the last two years, ‘S’ has been unable to earn a salary and his company has only been providing him a small food allowance. He had no savings, was living with a friend, and had been borrowing money from other friends to get by. The WICA case regarding his injuries also did not include any settlement amount to ‘S’. | 8/7/2021 | (Tally: $500/$500) 8/7 Standing Solidarity Fund - $500 | Was coordinated by MMA Team.
| M09 | A | Fulfilled | 20/5/2021 | Funds | ‘A’ is a 22 year old male from Tamil Nadu who has been working in Singapore since December 2019. He is in need of urgent financial assistance for his father’s medical needs. His father himself worked in Singapore for 16 years from 1999 to 2015, before moving back to India permanently. A’s basic pay is $520 and he is the sole breadwinner of his family. He had worked here for 16 months before having to fly back to India as his father suffered a heart attack and was admitted in ICU. The cause of the heart attack turned out to be the result of end stage kidney failure (ESRF). To support his father’s bills, ‘A’ has taken a loan from his boss and sold his home in India. He started an interim job in India before the onset of the second wave of COVID in India left him jobless and his family without income. His dad currently requires a fistula operation to initiate dialysis. We used the Standing Solidarity Fund to pay for the first urgent fistula operation, but it failed (complicated by an infection). His second fistula operation is scheduled in a month’s time. Scarce resources during India’s critical COVID-19 situation have also resulted in price inflation, where an ambulance ride from their home to the nearest hospital now costs SGD$100 (similar to Singapore). We are looking to fundraise $3000 for A’s dad to cover hospitalisation, a fistula operation, emergency dialysis, and outstanding debt and family needs. Due to the precarious state of his health and the current situation in India, this is an evolving need and we will provide updates where possible. In the event that A’s father succumbs to his illness, the funds will help ‘A’ settle last affairs and leave some provision for his family. | 6/6/2021 | (Tally: $3,000.44/$3,000) 20/5 Yanling - $10 20/5 Jeremy - $5 20/5 Jenn Champion - $20 20/5 Priscillia - $15 20/5 ascy - $19.57 20/5 ilyana - $50 20/5 Zee W - $50 (paynow) 20/5 Marsya - $20 20/5 Yanning - $15 (paynow) 20/5 Caitlyn - $15 20/5 Curiouslah - $50 21/5 Aqil - $50 21/5 Dayna - $2.57 21/5 Kate - $2.30 21/5 Chen Candice - $10 21/5 Carenlim - $100 21/5 Anonymous - $200 21/5 Aik - $150 21/5 Lynn - $8 21/5 Tvarita - $10 21/5 Junyelee - $20 21/5 Isabelcyc - $20 21/5 Melloace - $10 25/5 Chia Sie - $50 27/5 Tracey - $30 28/5 Dayan - $200 28/5 Maryam - $100 28/5 Fadzilah - $50 28/5 Lakshmy - $40 28/5 Zainab - $50 28/5 Aqilah - $50 31/5 Group for Aaron (via Mark and Estee) - $1578 | Jill (Telegram: @jellymould) was coordinating.
| A02 | S | Fulfilled | 2/5/2021 | Funds | S is a 24 year old Bangladeshi worker who came to Singapore in 2015 after loaning $7,500 to pay in agent fees. He paid this loan back slowly over time and by the time he returned to Bangladesh, he was not able to save any money and had only paid back his loan for agent fees. In August 2019, he took another loan of $6,500 to pay in agent fees to come back to Singapore again due to the lack of job opportunities in Bangladesh. He is currently repaying this second loan through instalments from his monthly salary. Every month he sends $650 home to pay for these instalments and to support 7 people in his family in Bangladesh. S is requesting reprieve from his agent fee loan and wants to have a chance at finally saving money from his labour in Singapore. We are fundraising $3,000 to pay for his remaining loan amount, so he can be out of debt and continue supporting his family. | 30/6/2021 | (Tally: $3,544/$3,000) 11/5 Anonymous Zakat Contribution - $3,000 8/5 Neha - $10 6/5 Nasuha - $10 3/5 Indria - $30 3/5 Jiahan - $44 3/5 Dayna - $10 3/5 Asyraf - $50 2/5 Naila - $5 2/5 Sarimah - $150 2/5 Anatasha - $10 2/5 Katie - $50 2/5 M3 - $10 2/5 Su Hui - $20 2/5 Althea Low Lyn - $50 2/5 Ameera - $30 2/5 Minsoo - $15 2/5 Sarahc - $50 | Yanning (Telegram: @yanningt) was coordinating.
| M07 | G | Fulfilled | 12/2/2021 | Funds | G first came to Singapore in 2014 and is currently working as a forklift operator. In May 2020 during circuit breaker, G experienced a severe toothache and informed the MOM officer in his dormitory about his pain. His toothache was so severe that despite the lockdown in dorms, they made an exception to provide emergency medical support and take him to the National Dental Centre (NDC). There he was diagnosed with severe decay and infection. The NDC performed an emergency pulpectomy to relieve him of his pain. However, NDC informed him that if root canal, post-core, and crown procedures were not conducted in a year’s time, his infection is likely to spread and his pain is likely to intensify causing irreparable damage to his teeth. After multiple negotiations, delays and intervention by MOM, his former employee paid for the emergency pulpectomy. However they have refused to pay for any further treatment. Subsequently, in December 2021, his Work Permit with the former employer expired and he had to find a new job in short notice. He started working with his current employer in January 2021 and his current employer has also refused to pay for the root canal. Based on the quote provided by NDC, G needs $2,400 to pay for his root canal, post-core, and crown procedures by no later than 1st week of May 2021. | 1/5/2021 | (Tally: $2,400 /$2,400) 29/4 C - $46 29/4 SC - $50 29/4 M3 - $10 29/4 Nic - $12 29/4 Aishani Sen - $450 29/4 Kai - $1 29/4 Jenn Champion - $20 29/4 Nursarah Binte Safari - $5 29/4 Ian Tham - $5 29/4 Mohamad Zaki Bin Jumahri - $100 29/4 Chan Yuet Ling Stefanie - $10 29/4 Eleanor Araliya Chen Ru Jing - $10 29/4 Mindi Saguda - $5 29/4 Jarratt Ong - $10 29/4 Nathaniel Mah - $20 29/4 Zhi - $50 29/4 Jill Tan - $40 29/4 Fengyun - $15 29/4 Jasper Teo - $20 29/4 Minsoo - $20 29/4 Alia Alkaff - $10 29/4 Jaye - $50 25/4 Meena - $10 22/4 Sarah Teves - $20 22/4 Jessica - $100 22/4 Seyoh - $20 22/4 Liu YH - $20 22/4 Bus - $10 21/4 Tan Shu-En - $20 21/4 Max Wu - $5 7/4 Mindy C - $50 7/4 Jacqueline - $50 2/4 Jennifer Kwan - $120 1/4 Additional funds from M02, via Athirah - $526 28/3 Tan Yanning - $30 28/3 Bartfeld - $75 26/3 Jessica - $80 25/3 Aisyah - $10 24/3 Syahirah - $10 21/3 Sera - $50 21/3 Abbas Bacha - $20 27/2 Amber - $50 26/2 Alia Alkaff - $20 26/2 Chrissie - $25 25/2 Shannon - $20 20/2 Amillie Chan - $10 19/2 Tvarita - $10 17/2 Cedric Choo - $50 17/2 Syaqilah Suhaimi - $5 17/2 Priscillia - $15 14/2 Jamie Tan - $10 | Cel (Telegram: @celinechsy) was coordinating.
| M08 | C | Partial | 4/3/2021 | Funds | (22/4 Update) C has almost fully recovered from his hernia surgery and is back in good health. Unfortunately, he was not able to secure new employment before his visa expired so his previous company is required to send him back to Sri Lanka. He will be leaving the country this week and we have sent him the remaining amount raised to offset his hospital bill. C has informed us that he will be managing his own payments towards his hospital bill while he is in Sri Lanka and thus his case will be unlisted from our website & sheet until further notice. (23/3 Update) C has been working as a cleaner in local hospitals for the last 15 years, but his company cancelled his work pass in Aug 2020. Since then he has been unemployed and living off his savings, which have mostly run out as he is also supporting his family (wife, two school-going children, and elderly mother) back in Sri Lanka. Two months ago he was diagnosed with a hernia by a doctor at Healthserve and we recently accompanied him for a follow-up at Alexandra Hospital, where the consultant confirmed this diagnosis. A day-surgery has been scheduled for 26th March 2021, and the total cost is $6,000 (including a $500 deposit before proceeding with surgery). At the moment, C is not able to walk more than 100m without needing to lie down due to the groin pain. Because of his unemployment status, he is not able to claim this surgery fee from insurance. (4/3 Update) C has been working as a cleaner in a local hospital for the last 15 years but had his work pass cancelled in Aug 2020 without renewal. As a result he has been out of a job for the last 6 months. He was also diagnosed with hernia 2 months ago and has received a referral letter from Healthserve. At the moment we are looking to raise $600 by 5/3 so that C can pay his rent and return money that he borrowed to make last month's rent. We will share more information about his medical needs in the coming weeks. | 5/3/2021 (rent) 1/9/2021 (medical bill) | (Tally: $2066.2/$6,000) ($500 for deposit by 26/3) 22/4 - $566 transferred to C 1/4 - $449 transferred to C 25/3 - $1051 transferred to C 9/4 Sharon - $200 7/4 Mindy - $50 7/4 Jacqueline - $50 7/4 Thushy - $100 5/4 Riingen - $135.20 30/3 Elizabeth - $125 28/3 Elaine - $100 28/3 Bernshmern - $10 26/3 Lakshmi - $10 26/3 Mindisaguda - $10 26/3 Shamravee - $10 26/3 Rachael - $50 26/3 Jiahan - $120 26/3 Kimberly - $50 26/3 Ying - $15 26/3 LR - $10 25/3 Juliette - $30 25/3 Mabel - $20 25/3 Yeong - $10 25/3 D - $11.65 25/3 Katie - $50 25/3 Kristen - $59 25/3 Portia - $100 25/3 Rachel - $100 24/3 abbasbacha - $10 24/3 Sarahteves - $50 24/3 Afifah - $15 24/3 Faizah - $20 24/3 YXL - $0.35 24/3 Priscilla - $25 24/3 Ting - $30 24/3 Wendelyn - $100 24/3 Janna - $5 24/3 Nur Sabr - $10 24/3 AG - $50 24/3 Alia - $20 24/3 Cedric - $100 24/3 Anon - $50 24/3 Mindy - $50 24/3 E L - $5 24/3 Evaleen - $10 24/3 Eleanor - $70 24/3 Syifa - $10 24/3 Jolene - $10 (Tally: $665/$600) - Rent due 5/3 5/3 Hsiao Shan - $50 5/3 Ying - $5 5/3 Mindy - $50 5/3 Samyu - $20 4/3 Dierdre - $100 4/3 Caitlin - $30 4/3 Pho - $50 4/3 CS Joshi - $50 4/3 Nicole - $50 4/3 Marj - $100 4/3 Tvarita - $20 4/3 Sranj - $25 4/3 Ci Wei - $10 4/3 Sandhya - $10 4/3 M3 - $10 4/3 Vic - $30 4/3 Preethi - $10 4/3 Alf - $20 4/3 Janna - $5 4/3 U - $20 | Sarah (Telegram: @thisissasi) was coordinating.
| M02 | R | Fulfilled | 17/10/20 | Funds | R is in need of $8,000 to support the last 4 months of his chemo. We are fundraising through his brother, who is still working in Singapore. He was diagnosed with multiple myeloma earlier this year when he had persistent vomiting, lower back pain & constipation. By the time R was diagnosed, his cancer had already metastasised to his bones, including his skull. (cont. next paragraph) His company insurance did not cover chemotherapy nor a bone marrow transplant. He was not able to afford treatment in Singapore and decided to go home to Bangladesh for treatment. He also had not met his 1.5 year old daughter who was born while he was in Singapore. Each chemotherapy injection in Bangladesh costs $250, so 6 months worth of treatment comes up to $12,000. His social workers in Singapore managed to raise $1000 before he flew home and he has recently completed his 8th chemotherapy session (2/6 months). To manage paying for his recent sessions he has been borrowing money from various people and is running out of money to repay and continue treatment. The curative treatment is a bone marrow transplant. Given that he has a large extended family, R has a good chance of finding a bone marrow match should he complete 6 months of this immunosuppressive therapy. | ASAP | (Tally: $8,526/$8,000) Additional $526 transferred to G's coordinator. 31/3 - $344 transferred 31/3 - $999 transferred 31/3 - $526 transferred to G 31/3 - $1,431 transferred 5/3 - $1,550 transferred 12/1 - $1,431 transferred 11/1 - $470 transferred 27/12 - $65 transferred 26/12 - $460 transferred 25/11 - $1,250 transferred ------------------------------------------------------ Contributions through Athirah: 31/3 - $526 transferred to (Cel) G's coordinator 31/3 - $1,431 transferred to R 29/3 MMA Booth Fundraiser - $1559 22/3 MMA Booth Fundraiser - $398 5/3 - $1,550 transferred to R 2/3 Aishani - $800 4/2 Roon's Fundraiser - $700 17/1 Mary - $50 11/1 - $470 transferred to R 10/1 Anonymous - $15 9/1 Brendon - $100 8/1 Fadzilah - $50 8/1 Olive - $100 5/1 LiHuing - $50 4/1 Jil - $100 3/1 Yu Teng - $15 26/12 - $460 transferred to R 13/12 TP ANF IG GRP - $100 8/12 Sam - $100 4/12 Sam - $200 30/11 Julia - $50 25/11 - $750 transferred to R 18/11 Chloe - $150 18/11 Chang-Ming -$70 18/11 Ling Qi - $250 18/11 Tash - $60 18/11 Fatimah - $20 18/11 Sha - $100 18/11 Mariyah - $10 18/11 Aisyah - $100 31/12 Neha - $40 Total: $5,187 ($5,187 transferred) ------------------------------------------------------ Contributions through Thea: 31/3 - $344 transferred 31/3 - $999 transferred 25/3 Aisyah - $10 24/3 Eleanor $55 24/3 Syahirah - $10 23/3 Rashiel - $50 22/3 Naimah - $200 17/3 Xiumei - $2 17/3 Faizah Zak - $20 16/3 Nic - $50 16/3 Cedric Choo - $100 15/3 Minnal - $10 10/3 Pho - $50 9/3 Jenn Champion - $20 9/3 Shannon - $10 9/3 Alia Alkaff - $10 8/3 Priscilla - $15 7/3 Ashley Xin Zhi - $100 7/3 Duang Fu - $10 27/2 Amber - $100 14/2 Paul - $200 3/2 Backtogroundzero fundraising - $322 12/1 - $1431 transferred to R 12/1 Thea - $1 11/1 Jill's Fundraising - $55 9/1 Sheryl - $20 9/1 Jill's Fundraising - $972 2/1 Shasha - $200 29/12 CY - $33 28/12 Rae - $100 27/12 - $65 transferred to R 27/12 Yen Teh - $50 25/11 - $500 transferred to R 21/11 Van - $30 20/11 Nur Qistina - $50 19/11 Angela - $15 19/11 Kavya - $100 19/11 Thea - $100 19/11 Qasdina - $200 18/11 Shi Yun - $70 Total: $3,339 ($3.339 transferred) | Athirah (Telegram: @srinurathirah) & Thea (@coelakanth) were coordinating.
| M06 | H | Fulfilled | 29/01/21 | Funds | H is in need of $1,000 to support his family in Bangladesh. Since his injury, he has not been drawing a salary and is unable to send money home (he is the sole breadwinner). Prior to his injury H was earning S$1,200 a month, which paid for all his family’s expenses back home including his mothers diabetes treatment. Since Oct 2020 his company only pays him S$300-400 a month for living expenses, of which half is spent on his food & essentials in Singapore. This means he can only send S$100-120 home, which is not enough to sustain his family of 5 in Bangladesh. (cont. next paragraph) On 6th Feb 2020 (2 months before Circuit Breaker), H fell off a ladder at work. Initially his company wanted to send him home without dealing with the injury but H resisted and so they took him to Tan Tock Seng Hospital. He had surgery on 7th Feb 2020, stayed in hospital for a week, and had a follow-up appointment scheduled on 7th April 2020. However CB started on 5th April and his employer did not allow H to leave the dorm for his appointment. When restrictions were lifted H returned to the doctor and was informed that his bone did not heal right and he required a second surgery which took place on 7th Oct 2020. H’s company refused to pay for this surgery and cancelled his work permit at the end of Oct 2020. It was only after H filed a successful claim for injury against his employer that they are covering the total hospital expenses under his insurance plan. | 04/01/21 | (Tally: $1060/$1,000) 3/3 Jill - 60 3/3 Samantha - 313 2/2 Alvin - 5 1/2 Hwee Min - 100 1/2 Nandini - 17 31/1 Cheryl - 10 31/1 Joy - 20 31/1 Devika - 25 30/1 Faizah - 50 30/1 Samatha -10 30/1 Jo - 5 30/1 Haz - 10 29/1 Des- 50 29/1 Jamie - 20 29/1 Bus -20 29/1 Shailey - 30 29/1 Tracey - 25 29/1 Liyana - 20 29/1 Lee ying - 50 29/1 Eelin - 20 29/1 Wei Jun - 75 28/1 Sam -100 28/1 Ewin- 25 | Ashley (Telegram: @cockbiscotti) was coordinating.

| M03 | M | Fulfilled | 01/12/20 | Funds | M came to Singapore in 2013 as a construction worker and has been working for his current employer since. In July 2020, while working with a hammer at the worksite, the hammer slipped and chipped part of his front tooth. He was wearing safety gear which included a helmet, but the helmet he was provided did not protect the jaw area. Immediately following the accident he didn’t feel much pain and there wasn’t any bleeding so he continued work. Later that night, however, the pain developed and it became intolerable after two days, which is when he informed his employer. (cont. next paragraph) M's employer refused to send him to the hospital as he claimed there was no evidence that M's injury was sustained in the course of his work. Given his financial situation M did not visit the doctor on his own and is still in need of dental treatment. The procedure to fix a broken tooth and conduct other oral checks costs approximately $1,000. He is asking for $800 to pay for part of the treatment. | 31/01/20 | (Tally: $800/$800) 24/12 - $500 transferred to M 31/12 - $300 transferred to M 31/12 - Michelle - $210 31/12 - Jill Tan - $80 11/12 Prasha - $10 7/12 Smiley Tee Fundraising - $200 6/12 Indrani - $300 | Soham (Telegram: Panner22) was coordinating.
| M04 | L | Fulfilled | 25/11/20 | Funds | In Feb 2020, L slipped from a temporary staircase at a construction site and sustained a fracture to his hip. He was sent to a clinic affiliated with his employer after informing his supervisor about feeling pain in his hip. He was given medication and an MC for a day. When the pain didn’t subside after a few days, he visited Ng Teng Fong General Hospital and the doctor there identified that the medication he had been given initially was not only the wrong medication for his injury but also meant for someone else (reflected by the name on the label). His employer did not pay for the fees incurred at NTFGH. (cont. next paragraph) He was subsequently given a 4 day MC but while he was on MC, his employer cancelled his Work Permit. He filed a complaint against his employer and a claim for work injury compensation - the case is ongoing. Meanwhile he has seen an orthopedic who finally diagnosed the fracture and he has been undergoing physical therapy since. However, he has borne all these medical costs himself. Since his employer terminated his Work Permit he is currently on Special Pass, which prevents him from seeking other employment; with no income he has naturally incurred loans in Singapore for his day to day needs like food and is no position to incur further loans. While he was here, his mother in Bangladesh fractured her ankle and needs money for treatment. Prior to his work injury, L was the primary wage earner for his family. With L‘s unemployment, his family has been struggling financially and cannot support his mother's treatment. He asks for $1,200 to support himself here and to send money back home to provide for his mother's treatment. 31 | A01 | V | Fulfilled | 10/11/20 | Funds | V has been unable to make enough money to support his family, live decently, and pay his agent fees which come up to $1,802. Work is often irregular, and his boss pays him late and incorrectly even when he does get to work. Over the last few months V has lost his mom and his two grandchildren, which has taken an immense toll on his mental health, over and above this debt. We would like to help him make this amount as soon as possible, both for his peace of mind and so he can continue to work in Singapore. | 24/11/20 | (Tally: $1,802/$1,802) 23/11 - $875 transferred to V 26/12 - $525 transferred to V 29/12 CY - $202 26/12 Alex Pandian - $200 10/12 Ashley - $50 08/12 Smiley Tees Fundraising - $250 25/11 Esther - $25 24/11 D - $200 21/11 Ethel - $30 20/11 Smiley Tee Fundraising - $200 19/11 Nisal - $50 19/11 Mu - $20 19/11 Qasdina - $200 18/11 Ash - $50 18/11 Hemaa - $15 17/11 Cheryl - $70 17/11 Georgina - $20 17/11 Mariyah - $10 16/11 Sera - $25 15/11 Clara - $50 14/11 Jess - $20 13/11 FSM - $50 13/11 Zee - $30 13/11 Kiera - $30 11/11 Joshua - $5 | Sarah (Telegram: @thisissasi) was coordinating.
| F01 & P05 | S | Fulfilled | 05/11/20 | Funds & Supplies | S requests for $300, which he can use to purchase provisions from the provision shop in the dormitory and cook for himself for a month. He has not received his salary since Feb 2020 as he suffered from a serious work injury in late Jan 2020. While his employer provides food for S, he has been given food that is oily, unhealthy, and does not match his taste/cultural cuisine (click individual links to view). Because of this, he hasn't been able to eat properly in over a month. He has also undergone various surgeries in the past few months and this lack of access to proper food has hindered his recovery. | 19/11/20 | 07/01 Phone delivered to and received by S (Tally: $300/$300) 17/11 Gabbi - $20 17/11 Cheryl - $5 16/11 Shabbna - $100 16/11 Hengyeng - $30 16/11 Sera - $25 13/11 Zee - $30 13/11 Bing Xian - $10 13/11 Kiera - $30 12/11 RN - $50 | Cel (Telegram: @celinechsy) was coordinating.
