The Sparta American Legion is Commanded by Dean Tremble with Helen VonRuden, Beverly Langston and Les Arnold. In addition to the parades, they also provide a Funeral Detail for all Veterans so they may be buried with full military honors.

The American Legion Riders Association District 7 led by District 7 President Paul Roraff Sr., are Veterans who are motor cycle enthusiasts riding to fundraise for Veterans programs and needs, while supporting local and state communities.

The Sparta High School Marching Band is excited to be back on the street and debuting their beautiful new band uniforms which have replaced the old ones from 28 years ago. Today they are performing Blue Suede's Hooked on a Feeling. The band is led by directors Carrie Thompson and Hope Larson and color guard coach Rebecca Shawley. Drum Majors are Ciara Settles and Jordan Johnson and the color guard captain is Cassie Shawley. This will be the senior's last performance with the band and we wish them the best!

The Butterfest car show was yesterday and here are some of the participants from the show. The hosts want to thank all who attended and especially those who entered their special interest car or truck. They hope to see you all back there next year!

ZOR SHRINE MIDGETS


The Midgets were formed in 1969. This is our 52nd year performing in parades.

The unit consists of 10 miniature Plymouth Prowlers cars that were purchased in 2022. You might not recognize the new cars as we have transitioned from our miniature 68 Thunderbirds but the members are excited to continue to dazzle the crowd.

The fees received for performing at parades are donated to the Shriners Hospitals for children. Through the years this has amounted to over 130,000.00.

Several of the active drivers are charter members and we have been fortunate to acquire several new drivers, which assures that the Midgets will be performing in parades for many more years to come.

Rocket Cycle is a single wheel that I ride inside. World Smallest Radio Flyer is a small cart that I ride on top. Both units are really cool.

The Greater LaCrosse Area Shamrock Club is an organization that celebrates and promotes Irish cultural heritage. Established nearly 50 years ago the club organizes many social activities, supports community events such as Irishfest and participates in area festivals. On the float are the 2022 Irish Rose, Debi McGrury and Irish Man Dave Burgess.
