This is the subject of which I have been asked to give workshops, but I also teach fiddle, banjo and rhythm bones. I grew up in Oregon, and learned fiddle and banjo from old timers in my community around Eugene, OR while living in the mountains on the west side of the state. My work has been to reconcile my music culture (Northwestern old time music) with my ethnic culture (Malayali-American/of South Asian descent). I am a trans woman, and have gently rewritten some traditional songs to represent queer perspectives.	I am Miriam!		Old time, influenced by South Asian folk songs
