| While DPS is also calculated and can be used to gather useful for relative evaluations, an up-to-date simcraft module should be superior for absolute DPS evaluation in specific encounters. This is a theorycrafting tool for primarily assessing mitigation and is intended/recommended to advanced users with upfront class knowledge, since it can be difficult to use correctly and good outputs are reasonably dependent on good inputs. If you have any specific questions regarding this spreadsheet, please DM Kyrasis#9330 as your first line of support.

| General Information:
| This spreadsheet was created to gather information on stat weights, items, talents, races, and runeforging; particularly with regards to mitigation, since it's an important, but often neglected, aspect of blood theorycrafting. This spreadsheet calculates Mitigation, DPS, and Effective HP stat weights based on input character information and steady-state assumptions. Mitigation, itself, is measured by calculating how many points of damage can be taken per point of external healing required (from a healer, for instance) in order to survive indefinitely; all effects are generally averaged for the purposes of these calculations and several variables are held constant (such as incoming damage composition, damage taken, and overhealing). The results from this calculation are only as relevent as the assumptions used. As a tank, you'll be placed in a number of different scenarios, so results from a single scenario may not be representative of others. You'll first create a profile for your character, as is, which will result in some general stat weights. If you want to view the effects of using different items, talents, runeforges, or races, changes can be entered into a secondary profile which can be used for direct comparison.

| Instructions: | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 1. Make a copy of this spreadsheet.
| 2. Open the "Data Input" Sheet.
| 3. Under "Baseline Character Inputs" complete the "Character Attributes" section with information straight from your character sheet with no buffs active, unless you want to manually account for consumables.
| 4. Complete the "Runeforging" section using "1" for the selected Runeforge and "0" for the Runeforge not selected.
| 5. Complete the "Race" section using "1" for the selected Race and "0" for the Race not selected. Additional options are noted where applicable.
| 6. Complete the "Talent" sections by specifying your tank in each talent. Additional variables can also be specified in this section as noted.
| 7. Complete the "Conditional Variables" section, related details are listed below: Overhealing % - This variable is used to determine how much of your self-healing is wasted. As with all of these parameters, check logs to figure out what value is right for you and try to use value that is representative of the *specific* situations you are concerned about to the best of your ability. Damage Taken per Sec. - This variable is effectively what your damage taken is, as seen in a combat log. It is preferable to use a conservatively high DTPS value to capture the higher-end damage windows you are subjected to. Otherwise, you may be overvaluing certain types of mitigation. % Magic Damage Taken - Of your total damage taken, what percentage of it is Magical damage (both AoE and non-AoE)? % Phys AoE Damage Taken - Of your total damage taken, what percentage of it is AoE Physical damage? % Magic AoE Damage Taken - Of your total damage taken, what percentage of it is AoE Magical damage? Defensive Cooldown Utilization - This is a multiplier on how often defensive cooldowns are used in the model. (If you want to assume no cooldowns are used, change this to zero; if you want to assume you'll be holding onto some of these cooldowns for some time before using them, lower this value to some value between 0% and 100%. Alternatively, if you want to simulate that you'll only be the active tank half the time, put this value as high as 200%). Cooldown Ability Delay - This number is a fixed time delay added to single charge cooldown abilities that are used rotationally, with little to no exceptions. Number of Targets - This is the number of targets that are eligable to be hit by all of your AoE/Multi-target abilities. Target Level - This is the level of all enemies, which is used for attack avoidance adjustments. Armor Constant - What kind of content you are running determines how effective your armor is; use the following values for this input depending on the current patch content below: - Mythic+ = 14742.798 - LFR = 15084.011 - Normal Raid = 16284.143 - Heroic Raid = 17625.468 - Mythic Raid = 19155.048
| 8. Complete the "Tier Set Bonus" section using "1" for active bonuses and "0" for inactive bonuses.
| 9. If you want to view the effects of any input changes, make these changes from the "Baseline Character Inputs" in the "Alternative Character Inputs" section. Any blank cells will use the baseline values.
| 10. Open the "Data Output" Sheet.
| 11. In the first column is a list of Mitigation, DPS, Reliable EHP, Reliable/Controllable EHP, and Unreliable EHP stat weights. In the second column is a list of the current values of these performance parameters for the baseline character build vs. how these values would change if you switched to the comparison character build.
