4 | Last week, Wauwatosa West grabbed a huge upset win over this same WFB squad and as a staff we knew that there was a chance that they could meet up again in the playoffs. On Thursday it happened and the Blue Dukes cruised to 7-1 win and grabbed their first playoff win of the postseason. Mitch Voit yet again was a main piece in WFB's win as he twirled a gem over his four innings of work in which he tallied five strikeouts and allowed just one hit. DJ Kojis relieved Voit and twirled three innings of stress free baseball in which he tallied six strikeouts. WFB seemed that they wanted to avenge the loss from last week as they put up four runs in the first inning, highlighted by a two RBI double from JD Dix and a RBI single from Ryan Carew. In the fourth, the aforementioned Kojis would drive in a run on a single to extend Bay's lead to six. In the sixth inning, Kojis and Dix would strike again as they combined to drive in three more runs en route to WFB's dominant regional win. | ||||

6 | The Huskies' hot streak continued into the payoffs as they defeated Wausau West handily, to start their playoffs. Leading this ECN offense was Cole Bakkum who doubled and homered, finishing the contest with three RBIs. Leadoff hitter Jonah Hanson also put together a solid performance as he was a homer shy of the cycle, and drove in two RBIs as well. Sam Feck and Roscoe Rennock rounded out this quality ECN offense as they each collected two hits, with Feck also grabbing a double. On the mound, it took a combined effort from Jalen Pascal and Henry Wilkinson to limit the Wausau West bats to just three runs and combined to strikeout 11. Eau Claire North will now take on conference foe, No. 22 Hudson, a team they beat twice during the regular season. | ||||

8 | A two run inning from the Sabers was all they would need as they took down a quality Waterford squad. In the fourth inning, Evan Iwinski would start the rally with a double which was followed up by a single from Keaton Arendt to break the 0-0 tie. After a single from Charlie Marion that moved Arendt over to second, Boston Halloran ripped a single of his own that brought home the second run of the inning. These would be the only runs Franklin would need as starter Jaxson Easterlin was flat out dominant in his complete game efforts. The Oakland commit tallied nine strikeouts and scattered five hits to notch the big time playoff win for Franklin. | ||||

10 | The Cardinals are riding some major momentum as they have not lost a game in over a month and grabbed their first playoff win of the postseason. In the third inning Sun Prairie exploded for nine runs en route to the dominant win. In the big inning, Isaac Wendler got the scoring started with a RBI double, which was followed up by a two RBI triple to make the score 4-0. Then Jack Watkins, Max Glusick, Wendler and Addison Ostrenga each smacked RBI singles - with Wendler and Glusick driving in two on their singles. On the mound, Sun Prairie has relied on Davis Hamilton throughout the season and they did again on Thursday night. In his 6 1/3 innings of work Hamilton failed to allow a run as he scattered just two hits, while tallying eight strikeouts. With this win, Sun Prairie will now take on cross town rival Middleton next week. | ||||

12 | The Papermakers grabbed their first playoff win to start the WIAA tournament with a 6-2 win over West De Pere. On the mound both Brayden Deering and Allen Leitner combined to hold this West De Pere squad to just two runs and Leitner also struck out six over his three innings of work. Offensively, Brady Koester, Colin Obermann, and Sawyer Deering each collected RBI doubles for Kimberly. Carson Peeters also collected an RBI on a single and Brady Coons drove in two runs on a single to round out this Papermaker offense. | ||||

14 | The Warhawks started their playoff push with a 10-4 win over Oshkosh North on Thursday. Recent Future Game teammates Ethan Hindle and Thomas Curry each strung together solid performances as they both drove in three runs on three hits, with Hindle also collecting a double and three runs as well. Michael Zordani recorded Arrowhead's only other multi-hit performance as he singled twice and drove in one run. On the mound, Mason Buss, JJ Vargas, and Arik Egerbrecht combined to limit Oshkosh North to four earned runs and combined for nine strikeouts. | ||||

16 | The Red Raiders took down a Brookfield Central squad who seemed to be playing their best baseball as of late to move on in the WIAA playoffs. In the fifth inning, Tosa East put up three runs which turned out to be the difference maker. In that important inning, Sean Martin got the scoring started as he ripped a RBI double, which was followed up by a RBI single from Alex Esser. Evan Kerstein capped off this inning as he smacked a RBI single to put the Red Raiders up by four. This where the scoring would stop as Wauwatosa East starting pitcher, Thomas Harper allowed just one earned run over his six innings, and also tallied 11 strikeouts. Drew Krause would come in on relief and shut the door for Brookfield Central to earn the save and give Wauwatosa East a major WIAA upset. | ||||

18 | Oak Creek cruised to a 9-5 win over Burlington to start their playoff push. On the mound Luke Klekamp notched the win as he allowed just two runs across his six innings of work and also struck out five. Offensively, CJ Trask was a key contributor as he went a perfect 3-for-3 which included a triple to drive in two runs and also scored three runs as well. Cade Palkowski also put together a solid day at the plate as he tallied a pair of doubles to bring home two runs and scored two runs to lead this Oak Creek squad to victory. | ||||

20 | Despite grabbing an early four run lead, Marquette had to fight for the win over Milwaukee Reagan in this regional final matchup. In the first inning, Jack Hardt got the scoring started as he ripped a two RBI double to put Marquette up by two. This was followed up by a M Cesarz RBI single and a RBI single from Ethan Goll to extend Marquette's early lead. Reagan would eventually tie the game in the fifth inning but it wouldn't last long as a run would come home on a sacrifice from Goll and another run would come home on the same play as there was a fielding error. Now with a two run lead, Sam Wronski would come out for the final inning and earned the stress free save as he struck out one and gave Marquette the first round playoff win. | ||||

22 | Bay Port and Ashwaubenon, two talented squads, went head to head for an absolute thriller of a game in the first round of the playoffs. Ashwaubenon would grab a two run lead early as one run would come in on a error and a wild pitch. With some work to do Bay Port would scrape one across the board in the fifth on a fielding error from the Ashwaubenon defense. Going into the seventh inning Bay Port was still down by one but after a RBI single from Ky Mueller they forced this game to go into extra innings. In extra innings, neither team could get anything going up until the 11th inning when Grant Gill led off the inning with a double. Then Craig Kabat would come up and deliver the biggest hit of the game, a single that brought home Gill to give Bay Port the lead. Now with a small lead, Ethan Plog would come back out for his for his fifth inning of work and despite giving up two hits, he would get out of the jam and gave Bay Port the major upset win. | ||||

24 | Union Grove edged out a tough Kenosha Tremper opponent to advance to the sectional semi-finals. Leading the way for this Bronco offense was Bobby Barrera who drove in a team high two runs while collecting a pair of singles. Nathan Williams was also a key contributor as he recorded a double and a single, finishing with one run batted in. Rounding out the Union Grove offensive output was Hayden Jamison who drove in one run on one hit and Owen Nowak who tallied a pair of singles, finishing with one RBI. Nowak also earned the win due to his five innings of relief in which he allowed two runs and also tallied six strikeouts. With this win Union Grove will now go head to head with Franklin next week. | ||||

26 | Verona came into the playoffs with a full head of steam as they earned some big time wins, to earn them a spot back inside out Power 25 rankings. There hot streak continued as they defeated DeForest handily, in the first round of the WIAA playoffs. The Verona offense was stellar as they exploded for 13 runs on 16 hits and were led by Nick West and Max Steiner who each grabbed doubles in the contest. Another key contributor was Mason Armstrong who grabbed a triple and three singles to finish with one RBI. Mason Fink, Michael Comber, Tre Grignon and NJ Elias all grabbed RBIs to lead this Verona squad to the win. The aforementioned West also earned the win on the mound as he allowed two runs over his six innings of work. | ||||

28 | Two runs was all Oregon would need as Grant Naumann was stellar in his complete game efforts. Through seven innings, Naumann allowed just one run on six hits and also tallied seven punch outs to lead this newly ranked Oconomowoc squad. Oconomowoc would score their only two runs in the first inning as J Anderson doubled to drive in a run and Carter Tower would drive in the other run on a single to cap this important first inning. With this win Oconomowoc will now go head to head with Mukwonago, who already has one upset under their belt. | ||||

30 | Some stellar pitching and some great offensive performances led Hudson to a round one win over Marshfield. On the mound, Ben Berkhof was flat out dominant over his five innings of work as he tallied eight punch outs and scattered just two hits. Offensively, Wylie Baumer nabbed the games multi-hit performance as he grabbed a pair of singles and finished with one RBI. Brennan Ducharme collected the games only XBH which was a triple to drive in one RBI as well. Will Haverly, Jake Busson, Owen Weadge, Kyler Hove, and Ben Land each tallied a single and an RBI a piece to lead this Hudson squad to victory. | ||||

32 | Despite allowing a four run inning, Westosha Central came out with the win in their regional matchup with Badger. Offensively, Keegan Kearby tallied two hits, a single and a homerun, to finish with one RBI. Mason Mitacek also collected a pair of singles and also finished with one RBI. On the mound, Adam Switalski and Keegan Kearby combined to hold Badger to four runs, with Switalski also striking out eight batters. With this win, Westosha Central will now take on Oak Creek in the sectional semi-final matchup. | ||||

35 | The Greendale Panthers would jump out to an early lead and did not look back as they defeated West Allis Central to advance to sectional semi-finals. Leading the way for this Greendale offense was leadoff hitter Jack Bauer who tallied a trio of singles and also scored two runs. Brayden Latus also grabbed a multi-hit performance as he doubled and singled, finishing with one RBI as well. EJ Kuster, Luke Mattes, and Cameron Bueno each tallied an RBI a piece to round out this potent Greendale offense. On the mound, Tristan Ellis continued his impressive season with yet another dominant pitching performance. Over his five innings of work, Ellis fanned 10 batters and scattered just three hits. The aforementioned Bauer came in for the final inning and kept the shutout intact and also punched out two. Greendale now advances to the sectional semifinals and will take South Milwaukee next week. | ||||

37 | Daelen Johnson led Beaver Dam to a first round win as they took down a solid Neenah opponent. In his complete game efforts, Johnson allowed just four hits and also tallied five strikeouts en route to the win. Offensively, the Golden Beavers would scrape across their first run of the game on a error. After allowing one run, Beaver Dam would answer with a run of their own to break the 1-1 tie. In the third inning, Beaver Dam would pull away for good as Ben Scharfenberg would smack a two RBI double. | ||||

This single would be the difference maker as Waukesha North came roaring back and almost erased the four run lead but Michael Birkhimer would come in and kept Milton's lead intact, giving them the nail biting win. | ||||
