16 | In a classic game between two Big Rivers Conference rivals, the Raiders managed to salvage a series split with the Old Abes by scoring two runs in the top of the seventh inning and quieting Eau Claire Memorial's late rally. Hudson drew first blood in the top half of the first on an Owen Weadge single. The Old Abes answered with a run of their own in the third on an RBI groundout by Jack Redwine and the score would hold at 1-1 until the final frame. Following Brayden Ducharme reaching base on a drop third strike and another Weadge singled, Logan Von Berge doubled to right field, scoring both and giving Hudson a 3-1 lead. Eau Claire Memmorial wouldn't go down without a fight, as senior Peyton Platter's RBI single brought the Old Abes within one. With the bases loaded and two outs, the Raiders escaped with a win after Weadge battled back for a strikeout. Tyler Wille came on in relief and was equally dominant in his two innings on the mound as he scattered two hits and struckout a pair. On Thursday these two teams had yet another close contest but with Westosha taking the win to split the series. Nick Argersinger has been the anchor to this Westosha lineup thus far and Thursday was no different. Argersinger collected two hits and drove in a team leading two runs in the win. Seth Brankey came in on relief in the third inning and was lights out from then on. In five innings Brankey struck out seven and allowed just two hits to earn the win in the contest. Despite having just four hits in the game, Waterford did have a few bright spots from Thursdays action. Max Northrop and Connor Harvie continued their success to start the season as they each collected a hit and drove in three combined RBIs. Despite a slow start, the Wildcat offense exploded for 12 runs on 15 hits and led by a three hit game from Henry Vincent who also drove in three runs. Vidal Colon also logged a three-hit day and drove in one run from the lead-off spot. Graham Kasten got the start on the hill for the Wildcats and turned in a solid out in his five-innings of work to earn the win.
