12 | This Greater Metro Conference clash lasted nearly a full 11 innings before Alex Esser's RBI single secured a walk-off victory for the Red Raiders, plating the game's first run at the same time. This was a pitcher's duel from the get-go, with McHenry County CC commit Cole Fialco opposing NIU recruit Tommy Meyer on the southpaw's home turf. Fialco was brilliant for Menomonee Falls, scattering seven hits across eight shutout innings and striking out two. Meyer dominated as well, striking out eight batters and allowing just two hits in 6.1 innings pitched. Thomas Harper and Brandon Marquardt held the Falls' offense at bay after Meyer left the game, combining to allow just one hit over 4.2 scoreless innings while striking out six batters.
