Game 5 will be random. Players will play 5 rounds and the maximum number of wins each week will be 5.

| ||||||||
| Game/Order Selection
| Refer to Matchplay.events for player order/selection.
| ||||||||
| Machine Types | |||||||
| Games will be categorized by year. Pre and post 1990. Category A will be all games from 1990 and after and category B games will be from 1989 and prior.
| ||||||||
| Available Games | |||||||
| Games available will be listed in the matchplay software. If new games are moved into a location, League Officials will approve of the game prior to it being available for league play. Officials will have discretion on choosing games that are mechanically and electrically sound working games. i.e. a game that is in need of repairs, may be pulled or shut off for a league night.
| ||||||||
| Late calls | |||||||
| Your friends cannot sign you in, only yourself or a League Official. A player can only call in late if they call the league phone number (412.706.3293). Try to show up at least 15 minutes early to warm up, and be on time. No one may sign in after that time unless otherwise stated by League Official(s). At 9p the officials will draw groups and league play will begin.
| ||||||||
| Player ID’s/Stats | |||||||
| Scores and standings will be recorded using Matchplay.events scoring software. Final standings will be submitted to IFPA World Pinball Rankings
| ||||||||
| Player Conduct | |||||||
| SSPL rules differ from the PPL rules, so take close note.
| Players will demonstrate positive sportsmanship on and off of the machines during League days. This includes exercising positive self-control, graciously accepting the outcome of games and treating all Players, League Officials, and Guests with common courtesy and respect.
| ||||||||
| Insulting comments, arguing, gestures and profanity in a non-joking manner directed at Players, League Officials and Guests will not be tolerated.
| ||||||||
| Players are reminded that all SCPL Leagues are SOCIAL yet COMPETITIVE. Please be considerate to each players league play intentions.
| ||||||||
| It’s becoming harder, with the amount of participation, that players should make an effort to meet all new players. If you are new and don’t know someone, introduce yourself. Older players that have been around for a while to the pinball scene, introduce yourselves as well.
| ||||||||
| Support the League. Respect the facilities where League Nights are held. Clean up after yourself, don’t leave food out, if you drop food or garbage, pick-it up and throw it away, finish all your adult beverages. Please do no throw away drinks that still have liquid in them. Dump them out in the sink before throwing them away. Volunteer during tournaments, participate in fundraisers, etc.
| ||||||||
| Violence, abuse, threats of any nature will not be tolerated.
| ||||||||
| Poor Sportsmanship - At times things can get heated. However, players are to conduct themselves in a respectful manner towards each other and the machines. The following are all bad habits that are learned behaviors and controllable: Kicking (even slightly), punching, hitting the glass (other than lockdown bar) throwing things/objects at a machine, during or after a ball has drained, etc…These actions will result in an automatic 0 (zero) points for the game.
| A rage tilt, slam-tilt, or furiously shaking a machine in frustration clearly after a ball has drained and it was very clear that you were not trying to save the ball….will result in a zero for the game. (Unless there is a rules advantage to tilt, i.e. Addams Family awarding a “G-R-E-E-D” letter when Tilting). This has been modified from PPL rules as Electro-mechanical games are more prone to “tilting-through” between players and can disrupt league night and affect play time. Shaking a machine on purpose after you have drained to leave your opponent a highly sensitive, moving tilt-bob will result in a zero for the game, multiple offenses will result in disciplinary action.
| There are no 1st Warnings during league. Any players that violate sportsmanship rules will be handled at League Officials discretion.
| Reading this is your first and only warning not to do it.
| Serious Poor Sportsmanship - After the ball has clearly drained, any shoving, body-checking a machine, lifting a machine off the ground and dropping it or shoving it back against the wall will be automatic disqualification for the night. This also goes for furniture and accessories in the venue. All 4 games will be scored as zeros regardless of whether they have been played or not. If this happens again during the season, you will not be allowed to participate in League for the rest of the season. Returning for the following season will be at the League Officials’ discretion. If you cannot control yourself, nor your actions, then you shouldn’t be playing.
| ||||||||
| There are no 1st Warnings during league.
| Discaplinary actons will be solely at the League Officials descetions.
| ||||||||
| A group that has a player that was ejected will score the group as the number of players that were initially drawn. If there was 4-players at the beginning of the night the scoring will remain the same with the ejected players receiving a 0 for each remaining games.
| ||||||||
| Minors - Alcohol may be at venues hosting. Minors are permitted to play, provided they are accompanied by a parent, guardian, or responsible adult per all Pennsylvania State laws.
| ||||||||
| Standings | |||||||
| Initial standings will be sorted by Adjusted score. Tie-Breakers will be as follows: (In order) Within division (i.e. If all tied players have already qualified for the same division) - Highest Adjusted score, - Highest Point total, - Most 5 point weeks*, - Most 4 point weeks*, - If all 4 tie breakers are the same, then a single-game playoff will be played on a game selected by a league official. (Only applies after qualifying has concluded.) Tie-breakers between divisions: (i.e. if 2 or more players are have the same adjusted score and are placed in the standings in the last positions(s) in A, first position(s) in B.) (Only applies after qualifying has concluded.) - A single game playoff between all tied player.
| Week to week will operate using the Matchplay.events scoring software.
| ||||||||
| Finals | |||||||
| Everyone makes finals. Players will be grouped into divisions at finals. Division breakdowns and number of players will be evaluated once it is known what kind of response there is for the season and how many players attend finals. (A Division will typically be 8, 16, etc Actual number will depend on attendance.)
| Finals for A division will be head-to-head best of 7. The highest seed will choose the first game and choice of game will alternate throughout the round. The higher seed will always have choice of order throughout finals.
| Game selection will alternate every game. A player must choose a game and can not defer. Selecting a game has 1 restriction. A player must choose at least 1 game pre-1989 at some point in the round.
| For season 1, A division will be restricted to the top 500 in IFPA rankings.
| ||||||||
| Malfunctions/Rulings
| All rulings for scoring issues and machine malfunctions will follow PAPA/Pinburgh rules. For complete rules, visit www.PAPA.org.
| NOTE: It is at the league officials discretion to make rulings "deemed right" for special situations that might not be listed in the official rules.
