| Year 10 Summer Work | ||
---|---|---|---|
| It is important that you know that Year 10's summer assessments have been moved to the Michaelmas term due to Covid-19. The assessments will take place during w/c 28 September and it is important that you take them seriously. We have learned from this year that all the information we can gather on your performance may become very important to us in the future. You will be given your exam access arrangements and these assessments are designed to help teachers identify gaps in your learning over the summer term, so that they can help you fill those in, as soon as we can in the Michaelmas Term. There will be a parents' evening following on from your assessments on Thursday 15 October. Help and support on planning your revision and revision skills can be found on the prep portal here. | ||
| You will be kept informed if any changes need to be made to the timing of these assessments and the exact week of assessments will be confirmed once further information has been about the running of the geography field trip | ||

| Art | Take a virtual gallery tour with Google Arts and Culture (see examples of links in resources) over the summer break and use this website to help you broaden your research (annotated artist copies) into your chosen area of study on portraits and identity - this will help you produce good quality annotated artist copies and improve your understanding of the artist's work and influences. It will be useful to have the following equipment for September: Set of drawing pencils 2B/3B/4B, watercolour pencils, black fine-line pens/black biro for drawing, small set of acrylic paints/detail brushes, A2 size plastic folder/portfolio with handle. | https://artsandculture.google.com/project/guggenheim-bilbao https://artsandculture.google.com/partner/van-gogh-museum https://artsandculture.google.com/partner/nakamura-keith-haring-collection |

| Design Technology | We have now finished the whole syllabus, so we should be able to attempt a sample GCSE paper in September to see how we are doing. In your textbook, you need to revise sections 1,2,3,4,5B,5D,6,7. You could tackle one section per week in the holiday. You can skip through and look at the questions in the yellow boxes. Read the section if you don't already know the answer. At the end of each section there are some "Exercises", and these are excellent for revision. When you don't know an answer, look back through that section to find it. I have some other revision materials which I will give you in Year 11, but it makes sense to use the really good resources in the textbook first. | PG Online textbook: AQA GCSE (9-1) Design and Technology M J Ross Get in touch if you don't have yours.
