Annually, IDPH conducts a workforce skills assessment. The data collected is used to identify skill and knowledge gaps that are then targeted for training and professional development. One prompt asks staff to rate their skill level as it relates to "Knowledge of governmental processes and structures (examples: legislature and rules/regulations, policies and codes)."
