Submission Deadline

Accepts Abstracts

To submit a session, you must have paid your ESA membership dues. Members are limited to one session. We are only interested in full sessions: four or five papers + discussants + a chair who may or not be a presenter or a discussant. Discussants and presenters must be different persons.

Your submission must include extended abstracts or full manuscripts of the papers to be presented, names of the presenters along with their contact information (name, affiliation, and email address), name of co-authors, and a discussant for each paper with their contact information (name, affiliation, and email address). Do not submit a session without first checking that all of the speakers and discussants can attend.

If you would like to submit a session for consideration, please do so by emailing me (villeval@gate.cnrs.fr).

We welcome submissions (extended abstracts or full papers) across any microeconomics field (public, finance, labour, industrial organization, health, behavioural, energy or environmental) that analyse policy changes with either positive or negative results or no effect that had consequences beyond the ones targeted through the intervention. These can include either backfire effects or unintended side effects of the policy. The purpose of this conference is to share insights and important lessons to be learned across fields and cases both for academics and policymakers.
