| Lincoln-Way Central | 3 | No. 9 Lincoln-Way West | 4 | Final |
| By: Peter Hamot Area Scout, Staff Writer No. 9 Lincoln-Way West and Lincoln-Way Central faced off in a Southwest Suburban Conference matchup and saw the Warriors of West win in walk-off fashion 4-3. With the game knotted at three in the bottom of the ninth inning, senior Dominic Saso stepped in and delivered the walk-off knock, a single over the left fielder’s head, to plate Kaleb Wilkey (2023; Triton), who singled earlier in the frame. Chasing two runs in the bottom of the eighth inning, Saso delivered for the second time of the game, shooting a single to right field to score Wilkey and making it 3-2 at the time. Anthony Massa (2024) would step in a few batters later and ground into a fielder’s choice to score Jake Dahlin (2023), who was pinch-running for Saso, notching the game at three apiece. The Knights of Central got out to a 3-1 lead in the top of the eighth inning with a bases-loaded hit-by-pitch, followed by a bases-loaded walk. The Warriors were chasing one run heading into the bottom of the fifth. That is until Conor Essenburg (2025; Kansas State) stepped in and drove a ball deep to the left field gap, scoring Tyler Koscinski (2023; Aurora) and tying the game at one apiece. Central got out to an early lead in the top of the second inning, as Jack Barret (2023) singled on a bunt to the first-base side to score Jack Novak (2023; Illinois-Wesleyan), who walked earlier in the frame. Pitching was the name of the game for most of this contest, as both starters threw it exceptionally well for their respective teams. RHP Reagan King (2023; Triton) got the nod for the Warriors and was dominant over his seven innings of work, allowing just one earned run on four hits, striking out eight and walking three. The right-hander impressed with a fastball in the 86-89 mph range, holding velocity all the way through the seventh inning. He flipped in a big breaking ball at 69-73 mph to change up the pace, and also went to a cutter at 78-79 mph to add another look. RHP Luke Mensik (2025) started on the mound for Central and matched King in innings pitched with seven, allowing one earned run on seven hits with eight strikeouts and one walk. The young right-hander cruised with his fastball in the 84-87 mph range and showed a mature knack to spin the breaking ball, as he flipped in both a curveball and a slider to miss barrels. NOTABLE PERFORMANCES: + Reagan King (LWW): 7 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 3 BB, 8 K + Luke Mensik (LWC): 7 IP, 7 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 8 K + Dominic Saso (LWW): 2-for-5, 2B, 2 RBI + Conor Essenburg (LWW): 2-for-5, 2B, RBI + Kaleb Wilkey (LWW): 3-for-5, 2 R + Jack Barrett (LWC): 1-for-2, 2 RBI, 2 BB + Landon Mensik (LWC): 2-for-5, 2B, R
| Belleville East | 5 | No. 10 Edwardsville | 3 | Final |
| By: Diego Solares Area Scout, Illinois & Missouri In a battle between two Southwestern Conference foes, it was the Lancers who came out on top, handing the Tigers their ninth loss of the season thanks to a late rally. Edwardsville drew first blood in this matchup, loading the bases in the first inning and scoring a run thanks to a sacrifice fly from Andrew Hendrickson (2023). Belleville East responded quickly, when Tommy Kramkowski (2025) squared up a two-out, two-run double deep to right field, putting the Lancers ahead 2-1 through two. That score held until the top of the sixth. Back-to-back doubles from Caeleb Copeland (2023) and Andrew Hendrickson (2023) started the inning off for Edwardsville and tied the game at 2-2. Kayden Jennings (2023) drove a two-strike pitch to straightaway center field, scoring Hendrickson from third and putting the Tigers up for the first time all game. It didn't take Belleville East long to respond to the Tigers' punch, however. Nolan Seneczyn (2023) drew a walk, and Ean DiPasquale (2023) singled, bringing Ty Reaka (2024) to the plate with runners on first and second. Reaka jumped on the first pitch he saw, an inner-half mid-80s fastball, and belted it deep to right-field for a triple, scoring both runners ahead of him to give his team a 4-3 lead. Carson Rapp (2023) sprayed a single to left field to score Reaka, and the Lancers were three outs away from a win with a 5-3 advantage. Owen Kelly (2023) capped a key showing out of the 'pen with a quick seventh, securing the upset and Belleville East's 18th win of the year. Kelly, who tossed 2 2/3 innings, punched out a pair and allowed two hits. His fastball sat at an easy 88-91 mph and he confidently spun a firm 82-84 mph slider off it, turning to a low-80s changeup to left-handed hitters. Ole Miss signee, and one of the nation's top arms for the 2023 class, Zander Mueth impressed in his start for the Lancers. Mueth allowed only a hit through 4 1/3 innings, punching out seven, and doing so with his typical high-octane stuff. The 6-foot-6, 210-pound right-hander pumped his fastball up to 97 mph, holding 92-95 mph throughout, while spinning a 78-81 mph slider that grabbed uncomfortable swings and whiffs throughout. Despite the loss, Joe Chiarodo (2025) continued to look the part as one of the state's top sophomores. Committed to Alabama, Chiarodo's fastball held 88-91, touching 92 mph in the first, and he spun a big bendy breaking ball at 72-74 mph off it for strikes. Notable Performances: + Zander Mueth (Belleville East): 4 1/3 IP, H, ER, 4 BB, 7 K + Joe Chiarodo (Edwardsville): 4 IP, 3 H, 2 ER, 3 BB, 5 K + Tommy Kramkowski (Belleville East): 1-for-3, 2B, 2 RBI + Ty Reaka (Belleville East): 1-for-3, 3B, 2 RBI + Andrew Hendrickson (Edwardsville): 1-for-2, 2B, 2 RBI

| By: Drew Locascio Illinois Scouting Director On Thursday afternoon, No. 11 St. Laurence hosted Brother Rice in game two of their CCL-Blue conference series. St. Laurence finished the game in a flurry but Brother Rice was able to hold onto a 6-5 win and split the two-game series. St. Laurence trailed 6-2 in the bottom of the seventh with two outs when they rallied thanks to a walk and three consecutive hits. Senior OF Tyler Radosevich doubled to left-center field with one out but after a fly out the Vikings were down to their last out. SS Jesse Contreras (Heartland CC) drew a walk, 2024 INF Jameson Martin (Minnesota) doubled down the left field line to score two and ‘23 OF Luke Stulga (Illinois State) singled to left to score Martin and cut the lead to one. After a ‘23 C Johnny Wendling (Illinois-Springfield) infield single, the Vikings found themselves with runners at the corner. Wendling eventually took second base to put the tying and winning runs in scoring position. RHP Jackson Natanek (2025) was able to induce a deep fly ball that Ryan Hartz tracked down to preserve the one-run win. Brother Rice scored one in the third and one more in the fourth to take a 2-0 lead to start the game. Natanek singled to right field to drive in the first run and Chris Daugherty lined an RBI single back up the middle in the fourth. The Crusaders tacked on four more in the top of the sixth which seemed to put the game out of hand at the time. Consecutive two-out, two-run, singles by Aidan Nohava and Hartz led to the four runs. RHP Tadgh Callaghan (2025; uncommitted) battled throughout his start for Brother Rice. The sophomore ran his fastball up to 86 mph, pitching at 81-85 while flashing a three-pitch mix throughout his outing.
