31 | Saint Ignatius College Prep | 6 | No. 10 Nazareth Academy | 4 | Final |
32 | By: Drew Locascio Illinois Scouting Director No. 10 Nazareth hosted St. Ignatius on Saturday morning in a non-conference matchup as both teams prepare for the upcoming playoffs. Nazareth jumped out to an early lead but a late St. Ignatius rally, tied it up late at four, before knocking off Nazareth 6-4 in 11 innings. Trailing 4-2, St. Ignatius scored two runs in the top of the sixth inning to tie the game at four at the time. Sophomore Remo Indomenico, who seemed to be on the barrel in every at-bat, delivered with a two-out ground ball back up the middle that scored two runs. Indomenico finished the game 3-for-7 with a double and two RBI. There were a number of different momentum changes throughout the contest and in extra innings. St. Ignatius escaped a bases loaded nobody out jam in the bottom of the 10th inning when junior RHP Danny Johnson worked out of it getting a strikeout, line out to shallow left field and a groundout. St. Ignatius scored their other two runs on the day in the top of the third inning. Salvatore Besztery and Charlie Wolf (Princeton commit) delivered RBI singles in the frame. Sophomore RHP Chase Zidlicky was a bright spot out of the bullpen for Nazareth.
