| Libertyville | 4 | No. 4 Lincoln-Way East | 5 | Final |
| By: Drew Locascio
Illinois Scouting Director Libertyville traveled to Lincoln-Way East on Saturday for a non-conference matchup that was also the Lincoln-Way East senior day as well. Libertyville jumped out on top early but a late surge by the Griffins of Lincoln-Way East led to a 5-4 walk-off win for the home squad. Trailing 4-1 in the bottom of the sixth, Lincoln-Way East rallied for two runs in the sixth and two more in the seventh to come all the way back for the win. John Connors (John A. Logan JC commit) started the seventh inning with a sharp single to right field. Aidan Knipper followed with a perfect bunt that he beat out at first base. Trevor Fishman followed with another bunt, this one however was thrown away, allowing the tying run to score and pushing the winning run all the way to third base. ‘24 INF Tyler Bell (Pitt commit) was next up and he quickly unloaded a fly ball to center field which was deep enough to let the winning-run score despite a quality throw from the Libertyville center fielder. Bell was a key part of the sixth inning rally as well, as he came off the bench and delivered a one-out double to right field. Jared Velez and Connor Bird came through with RBI singles in the frame. Libertyville jumped out to a lead after scoring one run in the third and tacking on three more in the fourth for a 4-1 lead. Quinn Schambow delivered an RBI groundout in the third to score Drake Johnson who reached on a bunt single. In the three-run fourth, freshman Trevor Wallace scored two runs on a fielder's choice and Johnson scored Cole Lockwood who had singled earlier in the frame on a sacrifice fly. Junior LHP Sam Calsin stood out on the mound for Libertyville going three innings of hitless baseball out of the bullpen. Calsin struck out four and walked one while working off a clean arm, upper-70s fastball and above-average feel for a slurvy breaking ball. Senior’s Connor Jendraszak (Southeastern CC commit) and Zach Kwasny (Ball State commit) each went two innings of scoreless baseball out of the bullpen to keep Lincoln-Way East within striking distance. Jendraszak struck out three while Kwasny struck out four and allowed one hit. With the win Lincoln-Way East moves to 25-6 on the year.
| No. 13 Mahomet-Seymour | 4 | Mt. Zion | 0 | Final |
| By: Diego Solares Area Scout, Illinois & Missouri Mahomet-Seymour captured back-to-back Apollo Conference championships with Saturday's win over Mt. Zion, largely in part to a truly spectacular performance from Blake Wolters (2023; Arizona signee). One of the nation's top pitching prospects for the upcoming MLB Draft cycle, Wolters was his usual excellent self for the Bulldogs, fanning 13 in a complete game no-hitter, his third of the season. The 6-foot-4, 215-pound right-hander ran his fastball up to 98 mph in the first inning, pitching anywhere in the low-to-mid-90s throughout. Confidently, Wolters spun a tight, bullet-like slider at 79-82 mph, and he manipulated his finger placement to create more vertical, downer spin on occasion. Braden Houchin (2023) doubled down the left field line in the top of the fourth inning to put Mahomet-Seymour on the board. The Bulldogs added a run in the fifth on a wild pitch and scored two more in the sixth, thanks to Ben Wagner's (2023) sacrifice fly and Finn Randolph's (2024) single up the middle. Despite the loss, Sam Driscoll (2025) emerged as a competitive sophomore to follow for Mt. Zion. Driscoll didn't allow an earned run over his five innings of work, punching out seven, and limimting the Bulldogs' experienced offense to just two hits. His fastball touched 85 a few times, pitching in the low-80s throughout, and he confidently turned to both of his secondaries when needed; a sharp, slurvy-type breaking ball and a fading changeup thrown at arm speed. NOTABLE PERFORMANCES: + Blake Wolters (Mahomet-Seymour): 7 IP, 0 H, 13 K, 5 BB, W + Braden Houchin (Mahomet-Seymour): 1-for-3, 2B, RBI + Sam Driscoll (Mt. Zion): 5 IP, 2 H, 0 ER, 7 K, 3 BB
