| No. 7 Huntley | 12 | Saint Viator | 6 | Final |
| By: Peter Hamot Area Scout, Staff Writer No. 7 Huntley faced off with Saint Viator in a non-conference matchup and saw the Red Raiders come out on top, 12-6. Huntley got out to an early lead in the top of the first inning, courtesy of AJ Putty (2025) who lifted a ball over the opposite field wall for a grand slam, making it 4-0 at the time. The Red Raiders continued to put pressure on Viator in the second inning, as Ryan Bakes (2023; South Carolina) delivered an RBI double to make it 5-0. Ryan Quinlan (2023; Eastern Illinois) would come up next and lift a ball over the center field wall for a home run, making it 7-0 at the time. Viator cut a big chunk out of the deficit in the bottom of the fifth inning. Ryan Jackson (2025) started off the frame with a single through the right side, followed by a single up the middle from Jack Glasstetter (2023). Dylan Harer (2023; Winona State) would come up next and would be hit by a pitch to load the bases. A fielder’s choice off the bat of Zan Von Schlegell (2023; St. Thomas), an error, and a single from Sean Hogan (2023) would bring the score to 10-5 at the time. Huntley added on some insurance in the top of the seventh thanks to an RBI double from Dillon Putty (2023; McHenry County) and a defensive miscue, making it 12-6 at the time. The Red Raiders added on one run in the fourth, thanks to a solo home run from Ryan Bakes. The following inning, Ryan Dabe (2025) chipped in with a home run of his own, making it 10-1 at the time. The Lions got on the board in the bottom of the second inning thanks to an RBI single from Dylan Harer (2023), making it 7-1 at the time. 25 | Glenwood | 3 | Springfield | 1 | Final |
| By: Diego Solares Area Scout, Illinois & Missouri Glenwood came out on top in a battle of the Central State Eight's two best teams. Both teams were held off the board until the top of the fifth, when back-to-back doubles from Alex Cashman (2023) and Jacob Ahlberg (2024) put Glenwood on the board. Springfield responded with a run of their own in the frame's bottom half, executing a perfect delayed steal of home with two outs in the inning. Neither team scored in the sixth, but Glenwood took advantage of a miscue by the Senators to plate two in the seventh. Parker Detmers (2023) drew a walk to start things off, bringing Cru Erickson (2024) to the plate. Erickson dropped a bunt down, but Springfield's third baseman bobbled it, and allowed the left-handed hitting junior to reach base via error. Springfield starter, Seth Impson (2024) induced a 1-5 putout and punched a better out to record two quick outs, but Cole Workman (2023) peppered a ball into the left-center gap for a double, plating both Detmers and Erickson to give Glenwood the final lead. Detmers was on the rubber for Glenwood and the Louisville signee was masterful in the win. He went the distance, pounding the strike zone consistently with three pitches, and he struck out 12 batters, allowing only a hit and walk. Detmers' fastball touched 97 in the first, sitting in the low-to-mid-90s throughout, while grabbing 94 in the fourth, fifth, and sixth innings, respectively. His breaking ball flashed sharp spin at times, and he landed it around the zone at ease, and he featured a firm changeup at 86-88 mph that generated some uncomfortable swings from the Senators' left-handed bats. Despite the loss, Impson was terrific for Springfield in his start. He too went the full seven innings, fanning eight, and he was charged with just an earned run on four hits, walking just one. He held 86-88 mph on his fastball over the game's first three innings, settling at 84-85 mph afterwards, while regularly landing a 73-76 mph breaking ball for strikes and turning over his changeup at 77-79 mph. With the win, Glenwood improves to 25-3 on the season and 16-1 in conference play.
| Washington | 3 | Morton | 8 | Final |
| By: Gavin Smith Area Scout In a Mid-Illini Conference matchup between Washington (23-9; 12-1) and Morton (22-10; 7-6), it was Morton that came out on top 8-3. Tate Roley (2023; Bradley) was dominant all game for the Potters. Roley threw a complete game with 11 strikeouts, two walks, two earned runs and five hits allowed. After giving up two runs in the second inning and one in the third, Roley locked in and shut down the Panthers from the fourth inning on, striking out six in those innings. Washington started things off in the second inning with hits from Lucas Price (2023; Carl Sandburg) and Jake Stewart (2023), followed by a two-RBI double from Braden Vanderheydt (2024). They scored again in the third inning when Gavin Lawrence (2025) walked and eventually scored on a drop-third strike. Morton got things going in the second inning when Owen Adams (2026) scored on an error. They added another run on an RBI double from Brandon Sieben (2025), tying the game at 2-2. The Potters tacked on three more runs in the fourth inning when AJ Davis (2024) blasted a no-doubt two-run home run over the left field fence. Adams reached base on an error in the inning and eventually scored on a sacrifice fly from GB Kruzick (2024), giving the Potters the 5-3 lead. Adams drove in a run on a single to the left/center gap in the fifth inning, and they added two more in the bottom of the sixth inning to solidify their conference win over rival Washington. NOTABLE PERFORMANCES: + Tate Roley (Morton): 7 IN, 5 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 11 K + AJ Davis (Morton): 1-for-2, HR, 2 RBI, R, BB + Owen Adams (Morton): 2-for-4, RBI, 2 R + Braden Vanderheydt (Washington): 1-for-2, 2 RBI, 3 IN, 2 H, 2 R, 0 ER, 3 BB, 3 K.
