Tech Analysis, Area Scout Libertyville came out on top 2-1 in a pitching dominant performance over Lake Forest. The lone scoring for Libertyville came in the fifth inning. Senior Kristian Gavric reached on an error to get the inning started. Sophomore Cole Lockwood placed a perfect bunt down the third base line for a single. Senior Graham Goodan recorded the first RBI of the game, on a single that dropped in between the third baseman and left fielder. Three batters later and with one out not, senior Tyler DeFranco (William Penn commit) drove in the second run of the inning on a sacrifice fly to right field, to make it 2-0 heading to the sixth. In the top of the seventh inning, Lake Forest had their chance to tie and or take the lead. Opposing pitcher Sam Larson (2023, Denison University) got runners in scoring position with the team’s first hit of the game and one run across on a fielder's choice off the bat of Gianni Royer (2023, Holy Cross).
