| No. 17 Bradley-Bourbonnais | 3 | No. 5 Lincoln-Way West | 4 | Final |
| By: Drew Locascio
Illinois Scouting Director No. 19 Bradley-Bourbonnais traveled to No. 5 Lincoln-Way West for a Southwest Suburban Conference matchup on Tuesday afternoon. The Warriors of Lincoln-Way West got quality starting pitching and some timely hits, ultimately holding on for a 4-3 win despite an entertaining top of the seventh inning. Trailing 4-1, Bradley-Bourbonnais fought back in the top of the seventh inning. 2023 SS Max Mallindine (Joliet JC commit) got things going with a hard barrel to deep center field for a double. Junior 1B Tyler Wilson lifted a deep drive to right field that was able to fall, allowing Mallindine to score and Wilson to race around to third base. Wilson later scored on a wild pitch to cut the lead to 4-3. Head coach Brad Schweigert then turned to junior Spencer Boudreau off the bench. Boudreau worked a lengthy, hard-fought at-bat, fouling off a number of pitches and working the count full before ultimately drawing the well-earned walk. After a stolen base got the tying run into scoring position, senior RHP Reagan King (uncommitted) was able to strike out the next batter to preserve the win and pick up the save in the process. King showed an aggressive mentality, lively fastball that sat 87-88 and a top-to-bottom breaking ball with big depth. Sophomore LHP Conor Essenburg (Kansas State commit) got the start for Lincoln-Way East and was impressive throughout. He attacked with his fastball throughout while mixing in an above-average breaking ball and changeup to keep hitters off balance. His fastball played with hard arm-side-run and sat 85-89 mph throughout. He picked up the win going five innings, scattering two hits, one run, two walks and struck out 11. Arguably the biggest hit of the game came from junior Jack Linko who head coach Jake Zajc called on off the bench with runners on second and third in the bottom of the sixth inning. Linko found and hit a hard ground ball that found its way through the left-side of the infield for a two-run single which added some much needed insurance runs. Senior C Kaleb Wilkey (Triton JC commit) was responsible for the first two runs of the game, knocking in Essenburg in the first with a two-out RBI single to center and then knocked in Cam Buckley in third with a ground ball that got under the glove of the third baseman. Sophomore RHP Cody Freitas (Illinois State commit) got the start for Bradley-Bourbonnais and battled throughout despite taking the loss. Freitas has a quick, lively arm and sat 90-91 mph, touching 92 in the first inning before settling into the 85-89 range later in the outing. His fastball plays with life and ride through the zone and he pairs it with an 11/5 curveball in the mid-70’s that plays with occasional depth and tight spin. Freitas scattered eight hits in 5.1 innings pitched, allowing three earned runs, one walk and struck out eight. | ||||

| No. 7 Father McGivney | 15 | Christ Our Rock Lutheran | 2 | Final |
| By: Diego Solares Area Scout, Illinois & Missouri Perhaps the hottest team in the state right now, Father McGivney improved to 19-0 on the season in a runaway victory over a conference opponent. The Griffins didn't lack offense by any means in this contest, pounding out 13 total hits and scoring runs in bunches - three in the second, five in the third, and seven in the fourth. Sophmore Kannon Kamp (2025) tallied three hits in total, plating four runs, including doubling in the Griffins' first run in the second inning. Kamp, Drew Kleinheider (2025), and Gabe Smith (2023) all doubled, with Kleinheider and Smith each finishing with two RBIs. Uncommitted senior Daniel Gierer (2023) plated three on a pair of hits, too. AJ Sutberry (2024) and Isaac Wendler (2026) each had RBIs in the Griffins' victory, too. Sutberry worked deep counts and competitive at-bats throughout, while Wendler left the yard in emphatic fashion, nearly clearing the scoreboard on a solo shot in the third inning. The aforementioned Smith started on the hill for the Griffins and turned in a quality outing in his third appearance of the season, striking nine out over four innings of work. He didn't allow an earned run and walked just one, relying heavily on his fastball, pumping it around the zone at 88-92 mph with natural arm-side action. Smith flashed a changeup at 81-82 mph and a 75-76 mph slider, though he used both sparingly. The 6-foot-5, 220-pound Ole Miss signee is amongst the top arms in the Illinois' senior class.
