RHP Chris McGrath (2024) was outstanding on the mound for St. Rita, firing a complete game shutout while scattering just four hits, striking out 10 and not walking a single batter. The Mustangs got out to an early lead in the top of the first inning thanks to an RBI double from Sir Jamison Jones (2024; Illinois State) and a balk from the opposing pitcher, making it 2-0 at the time. St. Rita added two more runs in the second inning to make it 4-0 at the time. Patrick Smith (2024) delivered an RBI with an infield single, followed by a sac bunt from Ryder Johnson (2023). The scoring would come to an end for a while untli the sixth inning, where Baker Shelhamer (2024) recorded his second double of the day to drive in a run. Ryder Johnson would follow up yet again with an RBI bunt, this time legging it out for a single. RHP Aris Kosiek battled through 5.1 innings before handing the ball over to sophomore right-hander Max Bell. Bell would go on to hold the Mustangs offense to no hits or runs over his 1.2 innings of work.
