|I created two self-assessment templates based on the ACTFL “Can-Do Statements.” One is for the first semester college novice-low level Elementary German 1, and the other is for a fifth semester course, Conversation and Composition, which is an intermediate -mid to -high level. Students use these templates to reflect on their learning, what exactly they can do at the point in the semester, and provide an example by a link to a google sheet, their blog url, or write in an example from what they have done in their work or tests. I have students do them at mid-term and at the final. |
I created a chapter test for the OER German textbook, Deutsch im Blick. Part of the test was written, and part was an oral exam, given on www.lingt.com
To teach present-tense verbs and separable prefix-verbs, I created a series of worksheets using Google Docs and a kahoot! to practice each one. We used them in the classroom as a live game and as homework. Students showed much more enthusiasm for these forms of homework. Here are links to the worksheets and challenges I have made so far:
Google doc worksheet on present-tense verbs
List of kahoot challenges on a Google doc (expires on November 12, 2018)
Google doc worksheet on verb “fahren” and modes of transportation
This one is based on work in Deutsch im Blick. The linked quiz also on this document is meant to be an option for students to do in place of the worksheet in the textbook.
