He cites the fact that services accounted for 16% of revenue last quarter and is growing and the decision by Apple to stop reporting unit sales and average selling prices for iPhones, Macs and other products.
If it were a standalone company Apple services would be almost as large as Facebook by revenue.
He writes that Cook is moving Apple from an ‘ultimate product company’ to an ‘efficient services provider’.

The methods worked on several models of Crucial and Samsung drives. The researchers physically connected to the debugging interface and modified password verification so any password would be accepted. In a few models the recovered encryption keys using a "wear leveling" exploit. Of note is that Microsoft's BitLocker let's hardware handle encryption when available so would not circumvent these vulnerabilities. Crucuail has rolled out updates for all its drives. Samsung has rolled out updates for all but its EVO drives which it recommends using software encryption for. The researchers recommend using VeraCrypt to protect drives.||https://www.techspot.com/news/77267-hardware-based-disk-encryption-can-bypassed-certain-ssds.html|

|The effect of screen time on children continues to be studied.|
The latest from Oxford University published in Pediatrics surveyed 50,000 people from every state in the US and showed little effect on sleep time in children from 6 months to 17 years.
Time spent with phones, tablets, computers and TVs was self-reported, or reported by parents.
Teens who spent no screen time got 8 hours and 51 minutes of sleep.
Teens who spent 8 hours with screens in a day got 8 hours and 21 minutes of sleep.
Overall an hour of screen time was corelated with 3-8 minutes less sleep.
Prof Andrew Przbylski, one of the authors of the study, told the BBC - "Focusing on bedtime routines and regular patterns of sleep, such as consistent wake-up times, are much more effective strategies for helping young people sleep than thinking screens themselves play a significant role."
He believes previous studies had too small a sample and more study is needed.

|Brian-The backlash to Diablo Immortal was perhaps a little more about how and when they announced it than to what was announced. Blizzard is working on a proper sequel to Diablo 3 for PCs and consoles. There's no current effort to transition Diablo to a mobile only series, but making the announcement at Blizzcon gave the impression that this is a new direction for the series. There's every indication that Immortal is largely intended to be a foothold in the Chinese mobile gaming market (partnering with a Chinese company, like Netease, is required for foreign companies to release games in China) so the initial reaction to Diablo Immortal at Blizzcon was from an audience being told to be excited about a game that isn't necessarily for them in the first place.|
