Magic Leap One is scheduled to ship to developers this summer. When it becomes available to the public, AT&T will initially sell Magic Leap in stores in Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles and San Francisco. Keep in mind that a message accompanying the live stream noted that the Magic Leap One cannot go on sale until it gets FCC approval. Which it doesn't have yet. |:37||SL||US federal prosecutors have arrested and charged former Apple employee Xiaolang Zhang with stealing trade secrets related to Apple's autonomous car technology. Zhang worked for Apple from 2015 until April of this year designing and testing circuit boards. When he left Apple he said it was to move to China to be close to his mother. He then took a job with Xmotors, a US subsidiary of China's Xiaopeng Motors. The FBI says Zhang downloaded data from Apple's network and stored it on his wife's personal laptop. Zhang also admits removing two circuit boards and a server from Apple. Xmotors says it has no indication that Zhang communicated any sensitive information to it, and have fired Zhang.||https://arstechnica.com/cars/2018/07/feds-arrest-apple-employee-for-stealing-self-driving-project-secrets/|

|Techcrunch has on of its many articles about a startup getting a few million pounds in series A funding. But this one caught my eye.|
Olio is a location-based app in the UK for sharing unwanted food with other people in your neighborhood.
Think next door meets Freecycle for food?
Generally about a third of food production in the world is wasted and about half of the wasted food comes from people at home throwing it away. $1 trillion a year lost
How does it work?
You take a picture and list it on the app. People reply and ask to pick it up. You choose a location to meet and hand it over. Could be your home or a public place.
How do they make money?
The "Food Waste Heroes Programme" works with businesses like retailers, video shoots, corporate canteens or events to become zero food waste efforts.
Companies pay Olio and volunteers trained in food hygiene collect unwanted items then list them on Olio with photos for local collection. Most items last on Olio for a few hours. Voluneteers can keep up to 10% of collected food.
Potential Premium model where most active users pay a subscription to get value-add.
Hyperlocal advertising. (app has a half a million users)
Food from regular OLIOers
This is an area we take very seriously.
Our #1 guideline is ”Good enough for you: Only add food that you would be willing to eat yourself.” and our T&Cs state the person adding food must be compliant with any standards set by the relevant food competent authority.
If you see an inappropriate listing you can easily report it. Watch how to do it.

|sl||Sorry for a possible stupid question ... What is "good day Internet?" You've mentioned it numerous times on DTNS, but I haven't been able to find out anything about it.|
I've searched both my podcast app and done much googling, but can't find anything. I'm assuming it's another podcast?
The only reference I've found to it was in a comment on the DTNS website (sadly not a useful comment, just somebody asking Roger not to speak on 'good day Internet'!)
Andy in chilly Sydney (I won't call it 'cold' because ... Australia)
