US citizens spent 7.8 more days at home in 2012, with 6.7 fewer days in non-residential buildings and 1.2 fewer days traveling. While this caused energy use to rise at home as people used computers more, energy use overall fell in large part due to reduced driving time. Only the 65 and over group spent less time at home possibly because they're retiring later.||https://arstechnica.com/science/2018/02/americans-staying-home-streaming-video-and-using-less-energy-because-of-it/|

|Something called High-Res audio was among the many buzzwords at CES this year. But while many audiophiles bemoan the decline in music fidelity since the advent of the MP3, high quality audio has remained a niche market. Is the advent of high-res audio going to the change that? And what the heck is it anyway? Patrick? What the heck is it anyway?|
- What is it?
- Why Does it Matter?
- Is Hi-Res Audio increasing the number of people looking for Higher End Playback equipment like Digital Players, DACs, and Headphone and headphone amplifiers in the same way Blu-ray and HD content spurred on desire for HDTV and High Fidilety video gear?
- Will Hi-Res Audio ever be more than a niche market?
- Is the failure of Neil Young's Pono 24-bit 192 kHz audio service due to marketing, market segmentation, or public disinterest?
