1	Series Scoring using Cox-Sprague

3	A boat must compete in (come to the starting area). e.g. 50% of races plus 1 for her to qualify for the Series title
4	A boat will be allowed to discard starts based on the number of races sailed, as defined in the NOR for the Series.
5	Any boat that crosses the starting line then withdraws is scored one point worse than the number of starters.

7	Cox-Sprague Scoring System
8	The Cox-Sprague Scoring method has advantages over the Low Point System and the Low Point Averaged System. Over the course of a long series, many entrants in the series will, for any of a variety of reasons, find that they must miss one or even several races in the series. Under the Cox-Sprague model, a boat 'qualifies' for a series if she sails a defined percentage of the races in the series. Her series score is based only on the races in which she competes, and therefore, provided she sails in sufficient races to qualify for the series, she is not placed at a disadvantage if she misses some races. The Low-Point system does not have this feature. Also, the Cox-Sprague model has the advantage that a boat that wins a race in which a large number of boats compete is rewarded more handsomely than a boat that wins a race against a smaller number of competitors. The Low Point system does not have this feature.

10	Cox-Sprague scoring system recommended by Y.R.A. of L.I.S, and modified from the original, as described below, will be used.
11		In this modified table, the score for position 2 in a 2-boat race is increased from 5 to 7. Position 3 (DNF) is changed from 0 to a value of 5.
12		For all places above 21, the score is calculated as 58 x 2Log(Place-20)

14	In each race the number of starters will determine the column to be used in the table below, and each boat will be credited with the number of points indicated for her finishing place. A boat's series score shall be her "Percentage of Perfection" calculated by dividing her total points scored by the total points she would have had, had she won every race in which she started. A boat which does not finish or is disqualified in a race shall receive a score for the place one greater than the number of starters in that race using the next column in the table to determine the number of points.

Of particular difference is that boats that come to race but score a DNF/DNS/OCS receive zero points, giving them a worse score in the season results than had they not sailed (DNC) in the race at all. These finishes may be discarded from the Series scoring if the boat has sailed the required number of races.
