35 | Plainfield Central took an early lead in the first inning pushing across an unearned run to take a 1-0 lead. Jack Irwin (2021) came around to score on Josh Cunniff’s (2021) RBI single after Irwin led off the game with a drag bunt single. East starting pitcher, LHP Brady Louck (2023, Notre Dame commit), settled in to strike out five over his first two innings of work, but back to back walks in the third set up another scoring opportunity for Central. This time Nathan Buchan (2021) delivered with an RBI double followed by Nathan Sommerfeld’s RBI single giving the Wildcats a 3-1 lead. Pitching with a lead, junior RHP Carter Prochaska (2022) struck out six in a row after a base loaded walk gave the Bengals their only run to that point. Prochaska loaded the bases again in the sixth and this time East cashed in. After going to the pen, a bases-loaded walk set the table for a huge two-RBI single by Michael Bailey, driving in the game winner in the bottom of the sixth and securing a Plainfield East win.
