Keagen Jirschele got things started on the mound and he struckout six across his three innings of work while allowing just two hits. Ethan Oatman relieved Jirschele and he continued the shutout, striking out three in his two innings of work. On the other side of the ball, Gavin Obremski has himself a day at the plate as he tallied three hits in as many at-bats, including a triple and a double. Garrett Shupe and Brady Lokken drove in two runs apiece, as well. The aforementioned Jirschele, Blake Nichols, and Grant Kuklinski rounded out the scoring as they each drove in a run, too. | ||||

Keli Grennier, Zach Wolfram, and Dylan Dux also had solid days at the plate, as each of them recorded a hit and an RBI en route to the win. 9 | Tremper grabbed two wins over Racine Horlick to kick off their 2023 campaign. Offensively, Cam Prickett had himself a day at the plate, going 3-for-4 to drive in a team-high two runs, and he also scored two runs himself. On the mound, Rory Dutton got the start and across his 3.2 innings he struckout six, while holding Horlick to just one run on two hits. Chris McMahon and the aforementioned Prickett came in out of the 'pen and they too were solid as they limited Horlick to just one hit and struckout a combined four en route to the win for Tremper. In game two, things went pretty similar to game one as Tremper took down Horlick with a score of 8-1. On the mound, Richie Dibble was dominant over his five innings of work as he did not allow a hit and struckout 11 total batters to earn the win. Jack DeRousse would come in on relief and he kept up the no-hitter as he struckout two across his one inning of work. Offensively, Ryne Lesnik tallied a double and drove in a run. 12 | By: Isaiah Glidden Associate Scout/Staff Writer Marquette took down No. 2 Arrowhead in both teams season openers to give us an early upset. To start the game, both pitchers were flat-out dominating and on the side for Arrowhead was Arik Egerbrecht. Across his four innings of shutout ball, he struckout seven and did not allow a hit either. For Marquette, Luke Agnew toed the rubber and he was equally dominant as he limited a talented Arrowhead lineup to just one run on five hits and also struckout seven across five innings of work. While the offense was quieted for a good chunk of the game, in the fifth, Marquette took advantage of some free bases and timely hitting to put up a five-spot late in the game. In that inning Parker Wyatt got the scoring started for the Hiltoppers when he singled to the right field to bring home two and put Marquette up by one. After an RBI single from Michael Cesarz, Marquette would bring home two more on wild pitch and an error to go up 5-1. Thats where the scoring would stop for both teams, and Marquette would hold on to take down our preseason No. 2 team in the state. 14 | By. Josh Fields Area Scout Mukwonago beat No. 23 Brookfield Central by a score of 8-2 in each team's first game of the season. Mukwonago got on the board early, scoring five runs in the first inning. Aidan Perdreau was responsible for driving in the first run of the game, notching two RBIs in his first at bat on the day, Walker Powers drove in a run with his first at-bat of the day as well. Mukwonago would take advantage of some defensive miscues by Brookfield Central that lead to more runs scored during the frame. Tristan Arnold toed the rubber for Mukwonago tossing an efficient three innings, needing only 41 pitches. The UW-Milwaukee commit struck out five batters while only allowing two hits and a walk during his brief outing. The scoring wouldn’t continue until the fourth inning where each team would drive in a run with a ball put in play by Adam Kudronowicz. Brookfield Central would get on the board with a Noah Drier fielder's choice, driving in one run during the frame. In the sixth Mukwonago scored another two runs on a couple of hits by Connor Greuel and Aidan Perdreau and an Adam Kudronowicz fielder's choice. The offense was led by Nate Novinska, who smashed a home run in the seventh inning and had three RBIs, sealing the victory for Verona.
