The Wolves would then load up the bases after an intentional walk which opened the door for Caden Updike who hit a fly ball that was deep enough to bring home a run, and gave Sun Prairie West the walk-off win. Some other top performers in this one were Jackson Hunley and Jaiden Jung who each recorded a pair of hits, and Casey Wambach drove in a team-high two RBIs. | ||||

27 | By: Isaiah Glidden Associate Scout, Staff Writer It was the Sun Prairie East Cardinals who came out on top in their matchup with a hot Monona Grove squad. In the first, the Cardinals took advantage of a Monona Grove defensive miscue that resulted in one run coming home. Then Drew Kavanaugh drove in one more unearned run in the inning to give Sun Prairie East the early lead. The lead did not last for long as Monona Grove would tie the game up at two after RBI singles from Dom Najacht and John Bittner. Following this, both offenses went stagnant as the starting pitchers for both sides settled in and we did not see another run until the bottom of the sixth. In the sixth, Sun Prairie put two runners on, courtesy of singles, and Sam Ostrenga would drive one in on a bunt single to give the Cardinals the lead. Max Glusick would then bunt into a fielder's choice to extend their lead to two. This was followed up by a two-RBI single from Isaac Wendler that broke the game wide open late. Zach Brzezinski would the come back out for his third inning of work and cruised through the top part of the Monona Grove lineup to give Sun Prairie East the win.
