| No. 6 Naperville Central | 5 | Waubonsie Valley | 1 | Final |
| Naperville Central starter, senior RHP Jack Skidmore (Lincoln Trail JC commit) got the tide turned in the Redhawks favor early on, striking out three in the bottom of the first inning and working out of a bases loaded jam. Skidmore ended up going 5.2 innings, allowing four hits, one earned run, striking out eight and walking two. Skidmore works from an over-the-top slot and his 85-88 mph fastball stays on plane at the top of the zone, resulting in a number of swings and misses. He plays his top-to-bottom, downer, 70-72 mph curveball off that same plane and slot, making for an uncomfortable/tough at-bat at times. Naperville Central turned right around and scored two runs in the bottom of the second inning thanks to a deep two-run to left field by junior Michael Boyce. Boyce jumped on a first-pitch fastball and was on time. Naperville Central scored one more in the top of the third and two more in the top of the six inning. Colin Barczi (Vanderbilt) singled and scored in the third and scored in the sixth on a Gabe Dickerson RBI double off the right-field wall. Chris McCormack came in for Naperville Central and shut the door after Waubonsie scored in the bottom of the fifth to cut the lead to 3-1 at the time. McCormack, an uncommitted junior RHP, has a lean, high-waisted frame and clean, easy arm. McCormack did not allow a hit and struck out one over the final 1.1 innings. McCormack sat 81-83, T84 while flashing an above-average curveball with tight spin and depth at 68 mph. He also showed feel at the bottom of the zone for a 78 mph changeup. Waubonsie got their lone run after Blake Pietryk barreled a ball deep into left-center field for a double. Senior Michael Piche drove in Pietryk with a two out RBI single to left-field. RHP Jarron Thompson got the start for Waubonsie against a talented Naperville Central lineup. Thompson, a junior Missouri commit, took the hard-fought loss going five innings, scattering four hits, three earned runs, walking three and striking out eight. Thompson flashed dynamic stuff at times in his outing sitting comfortably at 87-89 mph (2300+ rpm) throughout while mixing in a slurvy breaking ball at 71-73 mph. Thompson has some of the higher upside in the class. NOTABLE PERFORMANCES: Gabe Dickerson (Naperville Central): 3-for-4, 2B, RBI, R Michael Boyce (Naperville Central): 1-for-3, 2-run HR, BB, R Colin Barczi (Naperville Central): 1-for-3, BB, R Blake Pietryk (Waubonsie): 1-for-3, 2B, R
| No. 7 Mundelein | 6 | No. 20 Stevenson | 2 | Final |
| In a conference rivalry game, No. 7 Mundelein went to No. 20 Stevenson and won 6-2. After going down 2-1 in the bottom of the second, Mundelein scored three runs in the third to regain the lead. Back-to-back singles from uncommitted junior infielder Michael Farina and senior outfielder Drew Wellington, Eastern Illinois commit, got the inning started. Illinois State commit Daniel Pacella drove the first pitch of the at bat to right field for a double and scored Farina. Next batter, senior Tommy Stricklin would give his team the eventual winning run with a RBI groundout. Jacob Buysse, Wisconsin-Eau Claire commit, added an insurance run before the inning ended. The Mustangs would go on to score a run in the sixth and the seventh. A tie game going to the bottom of the second, junior Joe Richardson of Stevenson gave his team a 2-1 lead at the time with a RBI single to right field for his second hit of the game. Uncommitted junior Bennett Musser got the start for Mundelein, throwing five innings with 10 strikeouts, two unearned runs and six hits. Musser threw 73-percent strikes with 16 first pitch strikes. Musser threw both a four seam and two seam fastball holding 86-88 mph, an 11/5 curveball 75-76 mph and a sinking changeup 78-80 mph. Notable Performances: Connor Weik (Mundelein): 2-3, 2B Daniel Pacella (Mundelein): 1-2, 2B, RBI Jacob Buysse (Mundelein): 1-3, HR, 2 RBI Joe Richardson (Stevenson): 2-4, 2B, RBI Colin Schmitke (Stevenson): 2-3
| Riverside-Brookfield | 15 | Wheaton Academy | 2 | Final |
| Riverside-Brookfield and Wheaton Academy squared off on Monday afternoon in what ended up being the Owen Murphy show. The Notre Dame commit did virtually everything for the Bulldogs, both on the mound and at the plate. On the mound, Murphy went six lights out innings; allowing just two hits, no runs and no walks to 14 strikeouts. At the Plate, Murphy finished the day 2-for-4 with two home runs, four RBIs, two runs scored, a stolen base and a walk. While Murphy was on the mound, the right-hander cruised at 91-93 mph throughout his entire outing, topping at 94 mph and relying heavily on his fastball; only going to his breaking ball a few times later on in the outing to change up speeds. When he did snap a breaking ball, it came out of the hand at 77-80 mph with tight spin and sharp action, playing off a slurvy 11/5 plane. Perhaps the most impressive part of his outing wasn't the obvious velocity or knack to spin the breaking ball, but his control over the zone with his fastball; painting the outer-half throughout the entire game while not surrendering a single walk. The Bulldogs eventually exploded for nine runs in the top of the seventh to put the game out of reach for good, sealing their victory. The Warriors of Wheaton Academy would not go quietly however, as they added on two runs in their half of the seventh; thanks to a two RBI double off the bat of Will Clegg. Alex Bagley came up in the bottom of the first inning and delivered a ringing triple to the right-center gap off a 93 mph fastball to give their offense a bit of juice. Notable Performances: Owen Murphy (Riverside-Brookfield): 6IP, 14K, 0BB, 2H, 0R - 2-for-4, 2 HR, 4 RBI, BB, SB Connor Chapulis (Riverside-Brookfield): 3-for-5, RBI, 3 R Jake Tyler (Riverside-Brookfield): 2-for-5, RBI, 2R Rex Dockendorf (Riverside-Brookfield): 2-for-4, RBI, 2 R Brian Twomey (Riverside-Brookfield): 1-for-4, 3 RBI Ryan Novak (Riverside-Brookfield): 1-for-4, 2 RBI, R Cooper Marrs (Riverside-Brookfield): 2-for-2, R Sean McDermott (Riverside-Brookfield): 2-for-5 Will Clegg (Wheaton Academy): 1-for-3, 2B, 2 RBI Alex Bagley (Wheaton Academy): 1-for-2, 3B
