3 | No. 17 Yorkville | 9 | Joliet West | 1 | Final |
4 | No. 17 Yorkville squared off with a talented Joliet West club and ultimately pulled out the 9-1 victory. The Foxes were led on the mound by sophomore Simon Skroch, who picked up steam the deeper he got into the outing; going six innings with four hits allowed, one earned run and striking out eight. The lone run that Skroch allowed was every pitcher's nightmare; a routine double-play ball to the second baseman hitting a lip and bouncing directly over the defender's head. Skroch proved to be resilient though, bearing down for the rest of the game and impressing with his arsenal; working his fastball up to 85 mph to pair off a sharp 1/7 breaking ball, 67-69 mph. The game was notched at one run apiece in the fourth inning until the Foxes exploded for three runs in the top of the fifth and five more in the top of the seventh, putting the game out of reach for good. Gavin Dobbels, Ashland commit, Owen Ross, Kirkwood CC commit, and Brody Ferko, Carroll commit, all collected two hits in the contest to boost the offense - with Ross and Presbyterian commit, Lorenzo Rios, both leading the team in RBIs with three apiece. For Joliet West, '23 Conner Hogan got the nod and despite receiving the loss was still impressive; boasting a 6-foot-8 frame with a fastball up to 80 mph, getting on hitters quickly with his out-front release. He also went to a sharp 1/7 breaking ball and showed feel for a fading changeup to round out his three-pitch mix. Illinois State commit LeBaron Lee Jr. came in to close it out for Yorkville and struck out two against two walks, not allowing a run. The tall southpaw threw nothing but fastballs in his inning of work, sitting 84-87 mph and topping out at 88 mph. 17 | No. 20 Stevenson | 1 | No. 7 Mundelein | 2 | Final |
18 | Mundelein won a nail biter on Tuesday, edging out Stevenson by a score of 2-1. The Mustangs took an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first as Eastern Illinois commit Drew Wellington reached base on an infield hit off Stevenson right hander Brady Rosenkranz. Wellington would come around to score on a one out sacrifice fly off the bat of senior Tommy Stricklin. Stevenson’s own Bryan Park would tie the game up in the top half of the second, slugging an RBI double to centerfield. The Patriots would not score again, however, as Mundelein’s Ryan Geraghty (4-0), Wichita State commit, was dominant on the mound, allowing one run off one hit while striking out 12 against one walk across seven innings. A walk and a hit by pitch in the bottom of the seventh set the stage for senior Tommy Stricklin to shine once again, and shine he did, lacing a single down the right field line to send the Mustangs to a dramatic walk off victory.

An RBI single, followed by two consecutive run scoring errors and a bases loaded walk led to a bases clearing double off the bat of the Huskies own JP Ferraro. The Red Devils would never recover, as senior Cole Shamhart would hold Hinsdale in check, allowing four runs off six hits and striking out seven through four innings of work. With the loss Hinsdale drops to 2-1 in conference play and sits just a half game back of Lyons in the West Suburban Silver standings.
