3 | ESTHER AKINLOSOSTU Federal Way Track & Field (SR) Akinlosostu recently competed at the WIAA State Track & Field Meet in Tacoma. During the meet, she finished 1st in the 100m, 2nd in the triple-jump, and 3rd in the long-jump. Her team finished 5th-place overall in the meet. During the season, she set a school record in the triple-jump with a distance of 40'2.75" at the Oregon Relays. She will continue to run track at the University of Arizona next fall. |
4 | ACE CARR Squalicum Soccer (SR) Senior Ace Carr scored Squalicum’s first goal to start a comeback, from a 2-0 deficit, against Sammamish in the State Tournament Semifinal that Squalicum won 3-2 in overtime. He also netted a goal and had an assist in the 5-0 State Championship game against Burlington-Edison, finishing the tournament with two goals and an assist on Squalicum’s eight goals. Carr played relentless defense to help Squalicum control the midfield in both games. He always leads and plays with determination, humility, care of his teammates and a mindset of unity. A team captain, ASB President and active community volunteer. Ace Carr is a leader on and off the field for Squalicum HS. |
5 | GREENLEE CLARK Toledo Fastpitch Softball (SR) The senior had an amazing post season run for Toledo HS. The Honor Society, and ASB President, went 13-of-15 with the bat during districts, with three home runs, multiple doubles, and singles. She helped her team capture the final district spot and a chance at the State Tournament. In the opening game, a loser-out situation, Clark answered with back-to-back homeruns, helping her team take down Okanogan. With Clark’s fielding and batting the Riverhawks hung in at the State Tournament until the final day, where Clark went 3-for-4, helping the Riverhawks take home a 5th-place finish. She is an all-around team leader and will be missed as she heads off to Grand Canyon University in the fall. |
6 | ETHAN COLEMAN OlympiaTrack & Field (SR) Coleman capped his high school athletic career in spectacular fashion by winning the 1600m and 3200m at the Class 4A State Championship Meet at Mount Tahoma HS, setting school records in both events and establishing a new 4A State Meet benchmark in the 3200m. Coleman also teamed up with juniors Johnson, McNeese Jr. and Fouts to place second in the 4×400m as the Bears finished third overall in the 4A team standings with 49 points. |
7 | ASHER INGRAM Northwest Christian (Lacey) Track & Field (JR) Asher Ingram won the 2B State Championship in the men's 3200-meter dash, with a time of 9 minutes and 50 seconds. Asher also finished 5th-place in the 1600-meter dash. On campus, Asher is a very humble and kind classmate. You would never know how accomplished he is as a runner by the way he acts and treats other. |
8 | LAURYN MCGOUGH Willapa Valley Track & Field (JR) Senior Lauryn McGough set the 1B State record at last week's State Championship Meet in the pole vault, where she cleared 10 feet, 6 inches. McGough also won the javelin with a throw of 127 feet, 9 inches to help the Vikings to a tie for sixth-place. McGough is a High Honor Roll student and turned in a perfect 4.0 GPA in Term 3. |
9 | EVAN OTTE Mercer Island Golf and Baseball (JR) On 5/24 & 5/25 at Liberty Lake Golf Course (Spokane), Evan Otte and the MIHS golf team won 1st place. He posted a 78 and 73 over the two-day tournament. The team beat Mead by 16 strokes. The junior just took up golf during the pandemic. He's had to juggle golf and baseball practices over the last couple of months to get ready again for the spring State Championships. The golf team also won KingCo and Districts last fall. On 5/28, Otte pitched in the State Championships game against Kennewick, where he picked up the victory on 6-innings of work (94 pitches), racking up 5 strikeouts and scattering 7 hits and 2 earned runs for another Mercer Island State Championship. The week before in the State Tournament, Otte pitched 6.1 innings against Auburn allowing only 5 hits, 1 run and 7 strikeouts. The WIAA also awarded him with the sportsmanship medal for that game. |
10 | SAM PLOCHER Evergreen Lutheran Track & Field (JR) Junior Plocher won the State 1B Championship in both the 110m hurdles and the 300m hurdles. He tied his personal-record of 6'4" in high-jump to break the quad-district meet record, then went on to place 3rd at State in Cheney. He and his 4x400m team claimed 7th place at State to complete the season. |
11 | JORDYN RELETHFORD Nooksack Valley Fastpitch Softball (SR) Jordyn Relethford went 24-1 in leading the Nooksack Valley Pioneers to the 1A State Softball Title. She had 231 strikeouts on the season. In post-season she went 6-0, had 61 strikeouts and only allowed 16 runs total in 34 innings. She had a WHIP of .72. The senior was also voted the Northwest Conference Defensive Player of the Year by the coaches. |
12 | JOSIE SETTLE Kelso Track & Field (JR) Settle, a junior at KHS, has competed on the varsity soccer team for three years, and the varsity track team for two years due to covid. In her first full track season, she qualified for State in all four of her individual events: triple-jump, high-jump, long-jump, and the 300m hurdles. Settle remained undefeated all season in triple-jump and earned her first State Champion Title in triple-jump at the WIAA State Meet for 3A last weekend. She also placed in her remaining three events, placing 3rd in high-jump with a PR of 5’5”, 6th in long-jump, and 4th in the 300m hurdles with a PR time of 45.04. With that time, Settle broke the Kelso school record from 2012. With Settle's event points, and the combination of her teammates, the girls earned 3rd place as a team, which is the highest placement for Kelso girls at State. Settle also maintains a 4.0, is active in her FCA group at school, youth group, National Honor Society, and enjoys volunteering at youth track meets. Settle plans to continue competing over the summer in the Heptathlon, and hopes to earn another All-American Title at Nationals. |
13 | JALEN SPENCE Quincy Track & Field (SR) Spence took four events to the State 1A Track event, including the 110m hurdles, the 300m hurdles, 100m dash, and led his teammates in the formation of the first competitive boys 4x400m relay in years for Quincy Track & Field. The senior placed 2nd in the 110m hurdles, 7th in the 4x400m relay, and became the State Champion in the 300m hurdles. Spence leaves behind a legacy of success as he passes the baton to his underclass teammates to carry into the successful future of Quincy Track & Field. |
14 | ELLABELLE TAYLOR Rogers (Spokane) Track & Field (JR) Ellabelle Taylor recently competed in her third State contest this season, which something that hasn't been accomplished by many people in the past.. She finished 2nd in the 100m and 6th in the 200m this week. In wrestling, she placed 6th at the girls' State Wrestling Tournament. In cross country, she finished in the top 100 as well. |

3 | EMY ARBOGAST Sound Christian Track & Field (JR) At the district track meet on May 19th, Arbogast competed in four different events; 100m and 300m hurdles, triple-jump and high-jump. She placed 2nd in the 100m hurdles, 6th in the 300m hurdles, 5th in the triple-jump, and 5th in the high-jump, and qualified to go to State in all four events. Arbogast also set a PR for High Jump of 4-06.00. This is only the junior's second season in track. |
4 | TAYLOR BEAM Goldendale Tennis (SR) Goldendale's Taylor Beam has set the bar high for her tennis team both on the court, and in the classroom. She won the Eastern Washington Athletic Conference District Championship in singles last year, but because of Covid restrictions she did not get to compete at State. Since the start of the year, she has been a team leader and mentor with her goal being to place at State. Beam played singles in three matches this year. Her record was 2-1. In doubles, her record is 14-1, including three victories this past week. The last one was against Granger, to capture the District 5 Championship in Connell, along with her teammate Gwen Gilliam. Their wins, along with two of her teammates', propelled the Timberwolves to the District Team Championship. |
5 | BRAIDEN BOYD Chelan Baseball (JR) Boyd pitched a shutout in the Mountain Goats' 4-0 State Tournament Regional win over Meridian. For the contest, he pitched 6 and 1/3 innings, racking up 7K and 0 runs against. This performance comes after pitching a no-hitter and going 3-for-3, with 4 RBIs the week before in the District Championship game to help the team get to the State Tournament. On the season, Boyd has 40 innings pitched, 92 strikeouts, 11 base-on-balls, 10-0 record, and three no-hitters. Boyd is also a strong student, with a 3.58 GPA. |
6 | NOAH BRAUN Pope John Paul II Track & Field (SR) The senior has performed well all season for the Eagles. He posted a 6-foot personal-record this year in the shot-put with a 42'6" throw at a league meet in April. He also set a school record in the javelin with a 124'10" throw at the first league meet of the season. Braun added a 1st-place in discus at the 1B Districts with his 127'7" throw. Braun is also his school's salutatorian (ranked second in his class), with a GPA of 4.0 and a weighted GPA of 4.48. |
7 | COOPER GERSCH Mercer Island Soccer (SR) Cooper Gersch recently helped his soccer team advance to the semi-finals of the WIAA State Tournament. As a center back, he scored three goals in two games and played two great games defensively. Gersch is one of Mercer Island's captains and showed his leadership skills in Mercer Island's two victories. |
8 | CHARLOTTE GIFFIN Cedarcrest Golf (JR) The junior finished the 2022 season as the 2A/3A Wesco South individual champion and medalist at the divisional tournament. She followed that up last week by winning the 2A District 1 medalist, shooting even par day 1, and extending her lead day 2 in windy conditions. She is the first district medalist in school history and led her team to its first ever district title. |
9 | CODY GILROY Jenkins (Chewelah) Track & Field (JR) Gilroy is a three-sport athlete at Jenkins HS, who has transitioned from baseball to track (1st-year) this year. He also plays on the varsity football and basketball team. On May 21st, Gilroy won the 100m and 200m dash for 2B District 7, earning the District Championship and qualified him for State. The junior is also part of Jenkins' 4x100m relay team that also took 1st-place at the District State-qualifier. He was also part of the 4x400m relay team that placed 3rd that qualified for State. Gilroy maintains a GPA of 3.85 and is enrolled in three college credit classes, as well as his high school classes. Gilroy is the current president of Renaissance Crew and he has been elected to be Chewelah's National Honor Society President for the next school year. |
10 | MEGAN LETTS Tenino Tennis (SR) Megan Letts stayed perfect on the season, for the 2nd year in a row, taking home the singles championship at the 1A District 4 Tennis Tournament and also helped bring home the team trophy for Tenino as league champs for the 3rd consecutive year. Megan hasn't lost a match in two years and this year alone, she went 12-0 and she didn't lose a single set. She is a three sport-athlete and has been selected as Tenino's Class of 2022 Valedictorian, with a 4.0 GPA. She will also be attending Texas A&M this fall. |
11 | AJ MCGLOFLIN Central Valley Track & Field (SR) This is McGloflin’s senior year and his first full season of high-jump due to covid restrictions the prior two years. He got started on a shortened season last year and won the Greater Spokane League. This year, he is going into the State Meet with an undefeated record, a PR of 6’10, and is ranked #1 in the State. He added long-jump into his events four weeks ago and has had 1st-place wins in each meet, except once. His incredible performance at the District 8 Meet on May 21st, despite the rain and the cold, he finished 1st in high-jump and 1st in long-jump. He PR’d in long-jump and broke the school record that was held for the last 14 years. His jump was 23.025-feet and is currently ranked either top three in the State. He is headed into State this week with an incredible season record and top rankings in both events. |
12 | KELLY MONAGHAN Battle Ground Fastpitch Softball (SR) Kelly Monaghan is a 4.0 student and a team leader for her team. She caught four great games last week. In a tie-breaker game for the Bi-Districts, she was 3-for-4 with two RBI and a home run that proved to be the game-winner. In three games at Bi-Districts, Monaghan was 8-of-11 at the plate with six RBI's and added a double and a triple. |
13 | NOAH SORENSEN North Kitsap Baseball (SO) While maintaining a 3.96 GPA, Sorensen contributed greatly to the North Kitsap baseball team earning the title of District Champions. In the first round of the district tournament, he pitched a 10-0 shutout, striking out seven batters, allowing only one hit, and he had four quality at-bats including two singles and a RBI. In the semifinals and Championship games, Sorensen made five outs at 3rd base, went 5-of-6 at the dish with two standup doubles and 4 RBI's. He was also recently nominated by school staff to ASB leadership roles. |
14 | GILANA WOLLMAN Shorewood Track & Field (SR) Wollman recently was crowned the 3A Northwest District 1 Champion in the 100m, 200m, long-jump, and 4x100m relay (anchor leg). She broke school records in the 100m (from 1984) with a time of 12.06, and in the 200m (from 2003) with a time of 25.28. Earlier this season, she broke a school record from 2019 in the long-jump with a State-leading jump of 19'1.5". She also won the long-jump this week with a jump of 18'2.75". As a District Champion in four events, she qualified herself for the State Meet in four events. Last weekend, she also signed her letter of intent to compete at Washington State University next fall. |

3 | TREY CRANDALL Skyline Track & Field (JR) The junior is a first-year track athlete at Skyline HS. At this year's KingCo Track Championship, Crandall won the 100m (11.23), 200m (22.92), 4x100m relay (42.87) and the High Jump (6'2"). On the day, the Skyline boys team won the KingCo Championship Meet. He also competes in basketball and football for his high school. |
4 | JAELYN CREBBIN Oak Harbor Tennis (SR) Senior Jaelyn Crebbin is a standout leader on her tennis team and in our community. She was the female Just Play Fair Sportsmanship Award winner and has supported Oak Harbor's athletic programs by volunteering at events. The senior played as Oak Harbor’s #1 singles player all season. She entered the 3A Northwest Conference sub-districts as the #1 singles seed and finished as the sub-district champion, and an undefeated the entire tournament. She will compete in 3A District 1 Tournament as the #3 seed. Crebbin is attending Grand Canyon University in the fall and may play for their Club Team. |
5 | MIA DEJONGE Bellevue Christian Track & Field (SR) DeJonge won two individual events and was part of a winning relay at the Nisqually League Championships. DeJonge won the 100m high hurdles with a time of 17.06, the 300m hurdles with a time of 48.79, and ran the anchor leg of the girls 4X100m winning relay team with a time of 53.09. |
6 | SOPHIA GOMEZ Sammamish Golf (JR) Junior Sophia Gomez won the Kingco 2A Girls Golf Championship, shooting 16 strokes better than the next competitor. She helped lead the Sammamish Girls Golf Team to a 2A Kingco Championship. As the team captain, she was also supportive and encouraging of each of her teammates and cheered for all of them as they finished the 18th hole of the Kingco Golf Tournament. Sophia also led her team all season, having the lowest scores at each match. |
7 | MASON GOODSON Stanwood Baseball (JR) Goodson tossed a no hitter in Stanwood's second round district baseball victory over Oak Harbor. He had a perfect game through 5 innings, striking out 11. He also went 3-3 at the plate, with a stolen base in the 2-1 victory. The junior followed up this performance by earning the win on the mound just four days later in Stanwood's 6-4 victory over Meadowdale, and sending Stanwood to State for the 3rd time in program history. Mason had 11 strike outs and went 2 for 3 at the plate, with 2 RBI's and a stolen base. |
8 | ERIK LAZCANO Tekoa-Rosalia Track & Field (JR) The junior took first place in the combined District 7/9 Meet in the 1600m and 3200m races. He also qualified for regionals in the 800m and 4×100m relay on the same day. He is captain of the team and leads with enthusiasm and dedication. Erik also sets a great example in the classroom and has a GPA of 3.87. |
9 | ALEXANDER MAGANA Toppenish Soccer (SR) Alexander Magana scored four goals in a 6-0 win over the #6 Highland Scotties for the South Central Athletic Conference District Championship. He also broke Toppenish High School's single season goals record with his first goal of the night. He now stands at 39 goals for the season. Alexander has committed to play soccer for Columbia Basin College. |
10 | OLIVIA MATLOCK Pe Ell-Willapa Valley Fastpitch Softball (SR) At the Pe Ell-Willapa Valley Titans' game against the 1A Bulldogs of Montesano, Olivia Matlock threw another complete game, giving up just five runs, two earned runs, eight hits, two walks, while striking out 11. She also hit 3-for-4 on the day. Matlock leads her team with a 0.767 batting average and with five homeruns on the season. |
11 | STAELY MOORE Anacortes Baseball (JR) In District 1 2A Baseball Tournament, Staely Moore was 3-0 on the mound with two complete-game shutouts. In both shutouts, against Lakewood and Cedarcrest, Moore allowed only two hits and had eight strikeouts. He also picked up the win in relief against Burlington-Edison as Anacortes clinched a spot in regionals. |
12 | CARSON OLMSTEAD Toledo Track & Field (SR) Carson Olmstead won three events at the Central 2B League Championship Meet as a League Champ in the javelin (166'-6'), which is the best in Washington's 2B. He also won the 300m Hurdles and anchored a win in the 4x400m relay. Toledo's 4x400m also has the best time in Washington 2B's this season. |
13 | KAYLA VAN HOFWEGEN Mount Vernon Christian Track & Field (FR) Van Hofwegen continued her distance running winning streak this past Saturday (May 14th) at the District 1 1B Championships, where she paced the field again in the 3200m. The freshman has won her last three races at the Northwest 1B/2B League Championships (May 4th), the Stanwood Twilight Invite (May 6th), and the Championships from last weekend, putting her streak at three in a row, a race she has only ran four times this year. She also runs the 1600m race, which she won on May 4th at League Championships. Her 4x400m relay team also took first place at the District 1 1B Championships and they currently hold the second fastest time in State. Kayla enjoys her teammates and often is not seen as a freshman by blending in with the upperclassmen and coaches. She leads by example and isn’t shy to challenge or help encourage teammates. |
14 | RAEDEN YOUNG Tahoma Fastpitch Softball (JR) Young had a great week pitching for Tahoma's Varsity team. She posted two 1-0 shutout games against two North Puget Sound League District Tournament bound teams. Combined she pitched 14 innings, allowed 6 hits, 0 runs, 31 strikeouts, with only 5 walks. Both games were pressure packed, with huge situations throughout. She managed to strikeout the side in the bottom of the 7th in the first game to preserve the win. Raeden struck out the first two batters in the top of the 7th and induced a weak come-backer in the second game to preserve the 0-0 tie going into the bottom of the 7th and gave her team the chance to win in dramatic fashion. |

3 | MACKENZIE ARDEN Wilbur-Creston Track & Field (SR) At Wilbur-Creston's league championships last week, Mackenzie Arden won the 100m, 200m and 400m, and anchored the girls 4x100m relay. She is also a top-notch student-athlete, ranked in state in all of her events and third in her class academically. She has been accepted to the University of Washington and will be attending this fall. |
4 | DONALD BARNES Davis Track & Field (SR) Donald Barnes won the 100 meters and 200 meters at last week's Big 9 League meet. He is the league leader in the 200 meters with a time of 22.99, and he is second in the 100 meters with a time of 11.38. The senior also performs the high jump and is a member of the 4x100 meters relay. |
5 | EMMA ELLIOTT Battle Ground Fastpitch Softball (SR) Battle Ground's Emma Elliott totaled six hits, five RBI's, four runs scored, 3 doubles, a home run, and a sac fly, while playing terrific error-free defense in last week's three victories. She is also a 4.0 student. |
6 | TRACE FLETCHER Republic Track & Field (SR) Senior Trace Fletcher continues to dominate the discus in the 1B-classification. He's currently ranked #1 in Washington State's 1B in Discus. Fletcher recently attended the Undeberg Invite, which hosted 29 schools ranging from 1B to 1A, and placed 1st. He is also ranked 1st in the shot put in District 7. The senior is an honor roll student and has a 3.48 GPA at Republic High School. |
7 | SOPHIA FRANCIS Squalicum Tennis (SR) Sophia Francis is an exemplary student-athlete, who plays #1 singles and is currently undefeated (10-0). As co-captain of her squad, she has graciously shared her considerable technical knowledge with teammates, helping them to improve their performance, and engaging them in fun drills and skill-building activities. She is also an all-star in the classroom, holding down a schedule with five AP courses this year. Her stellar athletic and academic achievement helped her earn entrance to California Polytechnic State University for the fall. |
8 | KYNDAL KOSKI Raymond Fastpitch Softball (SO) The sophomore shortstop helped her team to two victories in a doubleheader last week versus Ocosta. She was 3-for-3 with two singles, a triple, two runs scored, three stolen bases and eight put-outs in the first game, helping her team win 6-5. In the second game, she was 2-for-4 at the plate, scoring four runs, two stolen bases, and three put-outs to help her team to an 8-7 win. For the day, she was 5-of-7, scored six runs, had five stolen bases and had 11 put-outs from her shortstop position. |
9 | JEREMY LARSON Onalaska Baseball (SR) The senior registered two singles, three runs scored, and two RBI's in two district games last week. He threw a complete-game 12-2 victory against Raymond/South Bend. He allowed three hits and struck out seven batters. Jeremy also reached base five times in a non-league game against Toledo. He walked three times, was hit by pitches twice and had one RBI and 1 stolen base. |
10 | TAYLOR MULARSKI Mead Golf (SR) Mularski fired a 9-under par 63 last week and won the Palouse Ridge Invitational played at the Palouse Ridge Golf Club in Pullman. Earlier this year, the senior shot a course record 66 at Horn Rapids in Richland and has a low round of 67 in league play. She carries a 4.0 GPA and is a Mead Valedictorian. She is known as a leader, a motivator and an excellent teammate. |
11 | HAILEY RATH Eatonville Fastpitch Softball (SR) Eatonville’s Hailey Rath continued her assault on opposing pitchers last week, as she muscled three homeruns to increase her state-leading total to 15 home runs in 15 games. In the two games last week versus Hoquiam, she was 4-of-7 with three homeruns, 10 RBI's, eight runs, and four Intentional walks to help push the Cruiser to a 12-3 record. Her final homerun of the night was a grand slam. |
12 | HAVEN SAGDAL Renton Baseball (JR) On May 2nd, in Renton's division playoff game against rival Lindbergh, Haven Sagdal lead the Redhawks to victory 8-1, for the school's first postseason victory in over a decade. Haven pitched a complete-game, allowing 1 unearned run for the win. He also went 4-for-4 at the plate with a homerun, 3 doubles, 3 RBI's and scoring 3 runs. Haven has been a leader on the field, playing with a ton of heart and has been tough to get out. |
13 | MIKEY VASSAR Tenino Baseball (FR) Vassar's Tenino baseball team played Montesano in a league game showdown where he blasted a two-out walk-off homerun. The team battle back twice to beat league-leading Montesano, handing the Bulldogs their first league loss since 2016. With the game tied 8-8 and two outs, the scene was set. Vasser stepped up to the plate against the Bulldogs in a crucial league game against the previously unbeaten-in-league leaders. The fearless freshman took a 1-2 pitch and launched the game-winning homerun over the wall. The Beavers swept the Bulldogs in the doubleheader, 9-8 and 5-4, at home. The wins means the Beavers have locked up at least 2nd place in league, a year removed from a one-win season, and could win a league championship if they beat the Bulldogs one more time in their season finale. The Beavers lost the season series with the Bulldogs last season by a combined score of 36-3. |
14 | SAM WALTER Stadium Soccer (SR) Sam Walter is the goalkeeper for the Stadium Tigers in Tacoma. Walter led the Tigers to a tough 3-2 win over league rival Mt. Tahoma, with multiple saves in the final league match, and recorded a shut-out in a 3-0 win over Mountain View in the first round of the district tournament to help Stadium qualify for the state tournament. |

3 | JUSTIN BODNAR Peninsula Soccer (SR) Justin Bodnar (#10) is the starting striker for Peninsula's varsity soccer team. Justin scored the game-winning goal on a 25-yard free kick versus Central Kitsap on April 26th, to win the South Sound Conference League Title. He finished off the week with another great goal in the team's 3-0 win over Timberline on April 28th. Bodnar’s regular season stats are 16 goals and 3 assists. 4 | DAETON DEIFE Odessa Golf (SR) Deife started playing golf his junior year of high school. He has improved so much and has won first place in a few golf tournaments this year. He takes golf and academics very professional and is also apart of FBLA. He just went to State for Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) and captured first-place in his presentation, and is now on his way to Nationals in Chicago! The senior will be attending University of Idaho in the Fall. |
5 | KENIDEE HOLDEN West Valley Fastpitch Softball (JR) Junior Kenidee Holden was 5-for-5 against the #1 league team, Moses Lake, hitting a 2-run home run, 2 doubles, 1 single and a walk. Each week she improves from the week before. Kenidee's current batting average is .586, SLG .897 and OBP .625. Defensively, Holden has had 26 chances with 23 put outs playing left field. She has also maintained an A average for the year and is an all-around team player. |

7 | BRYCE JOHNSON Meridian Baseball (SR) Johnson went 6-for-6 at the plate in two games last week. The first game hitting 3-for-3 with a double, 2 singles, 3 RBI's, and a run, all while taking down the #1 ranked team in the league 5-2. The second game, pitching a complete-game with 7 strike outs, he went 3-for-3 at the plate with 2 doubles, a single, a walk, 2 RBI's, and hit the walk-off double in the bottom of the 7th against Oak Harbor. Bryce is leading our league in strike-outs with 69. He has 5 triples, 3 doubles and is in the top of the batting averages with .406. When he’s not pitching he spends his game in center field. He is a great leader, team captain and his love for the game shows every time he’s on the field. |
8 | RENEE LAMBERT Cascade (Leavenworth) Fastpitch Softball (SR) In a double header at Omak, Renee Lambert pitched and got the win in both games, with a combined 12 strikeouts and 3 walks, on April 26th. She also went 5-for-8 at the plate with a single, a double and three homeruns - one a grand slam and another was the go-ahead 3-run homer in the top of the 7th inning of game 2. She ended the day scoring 4 runs and knocked in 9 RBI's. |
9 | DIEGO LOPEZ East Valley (Yakima) Soccer (SR) Lopez is the heart and soul of his varsity soccer team. The senior captain is a 4-year starter and has never missed a game. He leads his team not only with his high-level of play on the field, but with his leadership, both on and off the field. Diego has had a season of accomplishments thus far for East Valley, but this past week he stepped up big for his team by helping to beat the other 2 top teams in our league. He scored 2 critical goals to beat #9 Othello, including assisting a golden-goal in overtime. Versus Grandview, on senior-night, the team solidified the #1 seed into our district tournament against Prosser. Diego scored 5 goals and had 3 assists in those 3 games. The Grandview game he scored both goals in regulation with the second was a precision direct kick from the far left side of the field into the far post side netting with less than a minute left in regulation. Then, in the waning minute of the 2nd OT, his long throw-in assisted the game-winning golden goal. To cap off the week, he had a goal and an assist against Prosser to help his team solidify the #1 seed going into Districts. Diego has a 3.5 GPA and is a member of the National Honor Society. Diego is committed to play soccer at Columbia Basin Community College next year to continue his education. |
10 | JEREMIAH NUBBE Rainier Track & Field (SR) The senior broke the all-time Washington State discus mark with a throw of 207-feet 4-inches at the track meet in Onalaska on March 28th. The throw was verified with a metal tape. He also threw the shot 55-feet 8-inches and the Javelin 152-feet. On April 30th, he broke the all-time discus record at the 62nd-Annual Shelton Invitational Track Meet. |
11 | SYDNEY REISNER Burlington-Edison Track & Field (SR) Senior Sydney Reisner won the 200m, 400m, anchored the winning 4x4 Relay, while finishing 2nd in the 4x200m relay at the State's oldest track meet, The 114th Skagit County Championships. Sydney anchored the Burlington-Edison 4x4 relay to the fastest time in 2A, making the finals at the 70 school Oregon Relays in April. She is currently ranked 4th in the state in the 400m. Sydney has a 3.97 GPA in honors, AP classes, and will be attending PLU next fall to play basketball and run track for the Lutes. |
12 | JONAH SHULL Bothell Baseball (SR) Shull is a senior leader on the Bothell HS varsity baseball team. He is the starting shortstop, 3-hole batter and nearly unhittable closer on the mound. He prefers to lead with his level of play and has motivated his teams for years with clutch hits, near flawless fielding and precision pitching on the mound. Jonah has also excelled in the classroom for 4 years with a 3.67 GPA, while challenging himself with advanced English, Math and Science courses. This week Jonah helped his team secure a spot in the West-KingCo post season tournament through a win against Inglemoor HS. Jonah went 4-for-4 at the plate for the 2nd time this season. His 4th hit on Friday started the 3-run rally that secured the win for the Cougars in the extra 8th inning. He finished the regular season as a team leader with a .403 batting average, 25 hits and 10 RBIs. He was also a lock-down fielder for all innings, except when he closed the last few innings with a 0.447 ERA. The senior plans to continue his baseball career as an infielder for the Everett Community College Trojans |
13 | JAYDEN SMITH Southridge Track & Field (SR) Jayden Smith broke 3 meet records on April 30th including the long-jump, high-Jump, triple-jump (16’6", 5’6", and 36-4"). She was also named Female Athlete of the Meet. Her GPA is nearly a 3.7 accumulative. With her mark, Smith became the leading high-jumper in Washington State's 3A division. |
14 | HARLIE ZONES Waterville/Mansfield Fastpitch Softball (JR) Junior Harlie Zones has a season OBP of .932 with a batting average of .880. Harlie is solid behind the plate also, having caught 34 innings with zero errors. In the past week, she went 9-for-10 with 3 home runs and 14 RBIs. This brought her season total of RBI's to 39, homeruns to 9, with 2 of those being grand slams and 24 stolen bases. Zones’s love of the game is evident in how she leads her team with joy and determination. She shares her knowledge not only with her younger or new teammates, but also with the community’s youth softball team and becoming a role model for these younger girls in the process. |

This meet has schools ranging from 4A all the way down to 1B. Besides being very athletic, she is a great student in the classroom, marking a 3.55 GPA. |
4 | SILAS BRUNER Silas Soccer (SR) Bruner is a starting center back for the #1-ranked and undefeated (13-0-0) Silas HS. He netted the game-winning goal in a 1-0 victory over Bonney Lake on April 19th. Two days later against Stadium, he scored the first goal of the 2-0 win, and also helped the back line record another shut-out. |
5 | YAIR DIAZ Bridgeport Soccer (SR) Diaz continues to dominate in goal-scoring for the Mustangs with 7 hat-tricks in all of his first 7 matches on the season, including one match with five goals, and two more matches with four goals. The senior has added another six assists to his resume this season, to go along with his' team-high 25 total goals. |
6 | CAMERON DUNN Mountlake Terrace Fastpitch Softball (JR) The junior went 7-of-13 with 6 homeruns and a double in four games for the Hawks. She had 16 RBIs, scored 12 runs, and walked five times in the four games. On Tuesday, Dunn went 3-of-4 with 3 homeruns, 6 RBI's, 6 runs scored, and 2 walks. On Thursday, she was 1-for-3 with a solo-bomb. On Friday, Dunn went 1-of-3 including a grand-slam and a walk. She had 6 RBI's and scored 2 runs. On Monday, she finished with a 2-for-3 day adding a 3-run homer, a double, 3 runs scored, and 2 walks. |
7 | ZOE HARDY College Place Fastpitch Softball (JR) After Hardy hit 3 homeruns (2 being solo lead-off homers, and 1 being a grand-slam), 3 doubles, a triple, 2 singles, and having multiple intentional walks on offense last week in a 4-game span, she also held her own in the circle. Defensively, the junior had 20 strikeouts in 17 innings pitched, 4 wins, and held her ERA for the week to 0.93. She leads her team offensively in the following categories; on-base %, homeruns, RBI's, batting average, as well as slugging %. On defense, Hardy leads her team in put-outs, strikeouts, lowest ERA, and highest in fielding %. Hardy also leads her team with motivation, positivity, grit, determination, and brings love and heart to the game. She is a role model for many, not just at school, but in the community. |
8 | JORJA KOERNER Colfax Fastpitch Softball (SR) Senior Jorja Koerner faced #1 Asotin and only allowed 2 runs on 8 hits while striking out 7 and walking 0 for the victory. In the second game, she registered 7 RBI's, which included a homerun in the 1st- and 4th-inning. When Koerner played #2 Liberty (Spangle), she struck out 6 and walked 0. She also had the walk-off single to win the game in 7 innings (3-2). In game 2, she picked up the walk-off mercy-rule win in 5 innings (13-3). For the season, the senior has totaled 39 strikeouts, 34 RBI's, and batting average of .556. |
9 | MASON MOORE Wenatchee Track & Field (SR) Mason Moore won the discus at the prestigious Easton Invite (on April 23rd) in Snohomish, as well as placing 4th in the shot-put. The senior is currently ranked #1 in the state 4A classification for discus and #3 for shot-put. |
10 | CHLOE PATTISON Lake Stevens Track & Field (SR) The senior recently participated in the Pasco Invite and qualified for the 100m hurdles finals with a time of 15.66. Then in the finals, she ran a 15.26 and placed 2nd by .04 seconds, which is a time that ranks her 3rd in 4A. Pattison also anchored the girls' 4x100m relay, that took 1st with a time of 51.69. She also ran the lead off leg of the girls' 4x400m and posted a 59-second split to help her team win 1st-place with a time of 4:07.63. |
11 | CRIMSON RICE Shadle Park Fastpitch Softball (SO) Crimson Rice went 5-for-10 at the plate last week for the Highlanders, which included 3 homeruns (1 grandslam) and 13 RBIs. She also pitched Shadle Park to a 16-1 victory in 5 innings with 11 strikeouts and 0 walks. Rice leads by example in the classroom with a 4.0 GPA and on the field with her hard work and dedication to her team and teammates. At the conclusion of last week, Shadle Park was 9-2 overall and 5-0 in conference play. |
12 | MATTHEW SAUVE Grandview Baseball (SR) A walk-off homerun led Grandview 4-3 past #1-ranked Selah last week. The game was tied at 3 with the Greyhounds batting in the bottom of the 8th, when Matthew Sauve hit a solo homer to end the game. He had a four-bagger in the 1st- and 8th-inning. He finished 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Grandview in hits in game 1. In game 2, he was 3-for-4 with another homerun. He ended the day 6-for-7 with 3 homeruns, 2 doubles, 1 single, 5 RBI's, and 5 runs scored. |
13 | TRENT STEPHENS Naselle Track & Field (SR) Stephens captured three 1st-places at the Astoria Invite. He jumped 20' 5" in the long-jump for a new PR. He also won the 200m and then had a new PR in the high-jump, with a mark of 6' 4". |

3 | CALVIN ABSTEN Burlington-Edison Track & Field (SR) Senior Calvin Absten broke the Kirkby Field Stadium record as well as the school record in the 100m dash at the Skagit Showdown Meet at Burlington-Edison HS. His time was 10.89, which was a lifetime best by .2. He also won the 200m in 22.86 and ran a leg on the winning sprint medley relay. Absten is currently ranked 5th in the state in both the 100m and 200m, and anchors a 4x100m relay team that is ranked 7th. |
4 | WILL FLOYD Seattle Prrep Track & Field (JR) Will Floyd became an internet sensation when the video of his incredible final leg of the 4x100m went up on the Seattle Prep Athletics Instagram account. The clip showed Floyd track down a Garfield runner, making up an incredible 25-meters in the last leg alone. His lean at the end propelled the Panthers to a win by just .01. He followed up that performance with a dominating effort at the Solberg Invite in Bellingham over the weekend, winning both the 100m (10.74) and 400m (48.28). Floyd currently holds the fastest times in 3A in the 100m, 200m, and 400m. |
5 | GRACE HAEGELE Redmond Fastpitch Softball (SR) Haegele went 9-for-12 at the plate, accounting for three homeruns and 14 RBIs last week. She also pitched the Mustangs to two victories, limiting her opponents to 2 and 3 runs in her return to the circle. |
6 | SAVANNAH HAWKINS W. F. West Fastpitch Softball (JR) Hawkins cashed in five homeruns in six games for the Bearcats, highlighted last week by a walk-off 3-run homerun versus Tumwater. During last week's two games, she was 4-for-6 with two homeruns, 6 RBIs, and 5 runs scored. |
7 | LEROY HORTON Curtis Track & Field (SO) On April 14th versus Bellarmine Prep, Horton posted 1st-place finishes in the 100m, 200m, and 4x100m relay. Two days later at the South Sound Classic Invite, the sophomore took 2nd-place out of 42 athletes in the 100m dash, with a PR of 11.0-seconds, putting him 5th currently in the 4A rankings and 1st among 10th-graders in all state divisions. Additionally, he was the anchor leg of the 4x100m relay team who finished 2nd out of 18 teams. |
8 | JACK KATOVICH Waterville-Mansfield Baseball (SR) Senior Jack Katovich led the Shockers' baseball team to a 3-0 record for the week. On Tuesday's victory against the Pateros Billygoats, Katovich hit for the cycle, going 4-for-5 overall, with his homerun being a grandslam. For the night, he scored 3 runs and racked up 6 RBIs. During Saturday's double-header-sweep of the Bridgeport Mustangs, he went 6-for-8 with 3 doubles, 2 walks, 2 runs, 7 RBIs, and was 6-of-6 on stolen base attempts. He also played error-free baseball at shortstop and pitcher. In the first game, the senior threw 3 innings in relief, allowing 1 earned run, no hits, and 2 walks, while striking out 5, to earn the win. In the second victory of the day, he pitched the 7th inning, striking out all 3 batters he faced, to earn the save. For the week, Katovich was 10-for-13 at the plate, with 4 doubles, a triple, a grandslam, 2 walks, 5 runs, 13 RBIs, and 6-for-6 in stolen bases attempts. He pitched 4 innings, allowing 1 earned run, no hits, 2 walks, while recording 8 strikeouts, to a earn a win and a save. |
9 | ANGEL NGUYEN Lincoln (Tacoma) (SR) Over three matches, senior Angel Nguyen finished 3-0 playing doubles on the court. Those three victories were instrumental in helping the Abes' down Silas, Spanaway Lake, and Mount Tahoma. He is currently sitting at 7-1 on the season, while also leading the Lincoln Abes to a 7-1 record. |
10 | SOFIA PEATO Bainbridge Fastpitch Softball (FR) The freshman had a monster week in two away games against Bremerton and North Mason . Monday versus Bremerton, Peato was 4-for-5, including a single, 3 homeruns, 3 runs scored, and 7 RBIs. In the field, she had 1 assist on a sacrifice bunt. Then, on Friday versus North Mason, she was 2-of-3 with a single, a homer over centerfield, 1 run scored, and 4 RBIs. In the field, she provided 5 assists and 2 putouts. Peato is a wonderful athlete and player who leads by example in her work ethic and dedication to the team. |
11 | ADYSON SCHAFER Almira Coulee Hartline Fastpitch Softball (SR) The ACH Warriors' senior catcher is batting .600, totaling 21 RBIs and 27 runs scored during the 12-0 start of the ACH Warriors' 2022 spring season. Schafer has caught all 12 games with 45 putouts out of 45 attempts, throwing out 3 base runners on steal attempts. On the year so far, she has 19 hits with 1 double, 3 triples, 1 homerun, and 9 stolen bases. Schafer, and the Warriors were recently involved in the incredible 10-inning, unbelievable 48-39 slug-fest road-win over Inchelium on April 15th, where she caught for all 234 total pitches. |
12 | CANON SEABERG Elma Soccer (SR) Seaberg scored four goals last week in Elma's victory over Eatonville. He played wonderful, but more importantly he demonstrates leadership everyday in and out of school and athletics. He is a 4.0 student and a great teammate. Seaberg sets his team ahead of himself for the greater-good. He is a great role model for the youth and his community. |
13 | JAIDYN STEPHENS Liberty (Spangle) Fastpitch Softball (SR) Last week, Jaidyn Stephens pitched a perfect-game and recorded her 300th-career strikeout in a 15-0 win over Lind-Ritzville/Sprague. She has struck out 60 batters in her 25 innings pitched this season. The senior is 6-0 on the season thus far, with four of those wins leading to shutouts. On offense, Stephens is batting over .600 and leads the team in on-base percentage. She is a natural leader, encouraging teammate, and hard worker. She embodies everything it means to be a captain. |
14 | BROOKE WIRKKALA Castle Rock Track & Field (SR) Wirkkala won the high-jump, triple-jump, and placed 2nd in the 300m hurdles, as well as set a new PR at the Al MaKee Invite in Stevenson. Also, adding to her accolades she helped the 4x400m relay team in a 2nd-place finish and a new PR. Wirkkala is the only senior on the track team. Her leadership on the track and off has been the leading cause for the team's success this year. She is an amazing and selfless person that does whatever is asked of her, never asking for anything in return. |

She has a 0.47 ERA and is 8-1 on the season, while batting .356. At a recent game against Medical Lake, Amend went 2-for-3 at the plate with 2 triples and 8 strikeouts from the circle in the victory. She also was on the Knowledge Bowl Team that took 7th in State. Amend currently holds a 3.93 GPA. Last year, she received defensive MVP as a junior and in her freshman year she was on the 2nd All-League Team. |
4 | BARRETT ANDERSON Stanwood Track & Field (JR) Anderson competed in the 40-school Birger-Solberg Invitational on April 9th. She threw the shot put, discus, and javelin - with her accomplishment coming from her javelin throws. The junior entered the competition with a PR of 109' 0". She told her coach earlier in the day that she was going to PR and beat the State-qualifer mark of 120' 07". She went out and did just that with a huge score of 121' 05" to win the javelin at the meet. |
5 | MORGAN ANDERSON Raymond Track & Field (JR) The junior won the 110m hurdles (15.7) and triple jump (38' 7") at the Henrie-Weisel Tri-District meet on April 8th. The 110m hurdles time leads the state for the 2B classification. Anderson also finished 2nd in the pole vault with a PR of 11' 6" and anchored the 2nd place 4x100m relay team. |
6 | WESTIN FRUH North Beach Track & Field (SR) Fruh has had a great start to his senior track and field season, as he recently set four personal records in at the Tenino meet on March 29th. He is ranked in the top 10 for 2B in the 110m hurdles, and is ranked #6 in 2B in his specialty, the 300m hurdles. Fruh has already enlisted, and hase completed basic training for his post high school commitment to the U. S. Armed Forces. He is an honor student, a great example to his peers of hard work and dedication, and a leader in his school and community. |
7 | JOEL GARCIA Fife Soccer (JR) Joel Garcia put in two header goals in a game against Clover Park (#8 ranked team in the State), where he led the Fife Trojans to a 4-1 victory. |
8 | KATELYNN GELSTON Hanford Track & Field (SR) Senior Katelynn Gelston from Hanford HS won the discus at the Arcadia Invitational in California. Her winning throw of 156-feet leads the State and is currently ranked 6th in the nation. She also placed 6th in the shot put at the event. Gelston has a 4.0 GPA and will be the valedictorian for the Falcons in June. |
9 | JAICIEONNA GERO-HOLT Emerald Ridge Track & Field (FR) Freshman JaiCieonna Gero-Holt won the prestigious Arcadia Invitational in the open section of the 100m hurdles in a PR and state-leading time of 14.19 (#4 all-time freshmen). She also won the invitational section of the women's high jump, earning her the #1 ranking in the country and becoming only the 4th woman in State history to jump 6-feet in competition (and a freshman State record). |

11 | NAINOA NALL Lincoln (Seattle) Baseball (SR) Nall has played varsity and been a strong leader for 3 years for Lincoln, starting when the program was in its first year of having baseball. In the first year as a team with no seniors and only 2 juniors he led them to a 13-3 season. This year, the team is finding success against, as they find themselves 5-1 in league play with two big wins over O'Dea and Seattle Prep. Nall's leadership has helped build the successful program at Lincoln HS. |

13 | SERAPHINE WALLETTE Mary Walker Fastpitch Softball (FR) Wallette is an outstanding athlete and also an honor roll student with a 3.8+ GPA, participating in the Upward Bound program. She helps teammatesand classmates on and off the field whether it's in the classroom or after school. Wallette is dedicated to the sport she loves, playing softball year-round. |

4 | LUCAS DAHL Napavine Track & Field (SR) At his final home stadium meet, Dahl placed first in the 100m with a time of 11.20, first in the 200m (23.37), ran the final leg of the team 4x100m relay that placed first, and he placed first in the long jump with a jump of 20-feet 8.5-inches, that included eight schools. His season records are currently the top marks in the 2B Boys' 100m, 200m, and long-jump. The senior is also a great leader to his teammates, leading by example with his great work ethic, positive attitude, and giving advice to freshmen and first year track athletes. In the classroom, he earns outstanding grades, being ranked in the top 10 of his graduating class. |
5 | PIERCE HESS Grace Academy Track & Field (SO) The sophomore set a personal-best time of 11.95 in the 100m dash for Grace Academy, while finishing second overall. Hess also won the 400m (54.06) and was the anchor of the winning 4x100m relay finishing, with a time of 46.50. |
6 | LUKE JENKINS Naches Valley Baseball (SO) Jenkins pitched a complete-game 74-pitch shutout and had 11 punch-outs in a 2-0 victory against a conference contender, while also adding a single and an RBI. |
7 | JORDAN KOETJE Morton-White Pass Track & Field (SR) Jordan Koetje is currently ranked #1 in 2B for the 100m, 200m, and 300m hurdles, and 6th in the State of Washington for the 300m hurdles and 13th in the State for the 100m. Last week, she broke two school record for Morton-White Pass in the 100m (12.73) and 300m hurdles (47.93). Koetje was awarded for Athlete of the Month in the local newspaper called "Powerful Examples of Excellence" for athletics. She was also recently awarded an honor roll certificate for maintaining above a 3.5 GPA. |
8 | CAMRYN MCDONALD Othello Fastpitch Softball (JR) McDonald had an excellent week against 2A powerhouses Shadle Park and Selah. In the three games, she batted an outstanding 9-for-11 with 10 RBIs, that included 1 homerun, 3 doubles, 3 stolen bases, and scored 9 runs. On defense, she was lights out at shortstop with multiple highlight-worthy plays and was part of multiple double-plays. She lead the Huskies to three big wins to put them at 7-0 on the season thus far. |
9 | BRAYAN ORELLANA-GAMEZ Centralia Soccer (FR) Freshman Orellana-Gamez posted four goals last week as the Centralia boys soccer program closed out the week with a pair of wins. He had a hat-trick on Tuesday in the match against Black Hills, hitting the game-winner on a stellar free-kick. On Friday, he had another goal and knocked home the game-winning pentalty-kick versus Shelton to give Centralia a 2-game winning streak heading into spring break. He has a team-leading six goals on the season and in one week has helped his team match their season win total from last season. |
10 | JACOB PLEMMONS Spanaway Lake Baseball (SR) Against Lincoln (Tacoma) and Washington last week, Jacob Plemmons went 2-for-4 with five RBIs, walked once, and was hit by a pitch twice. He led the charge for the Sentinels in their 13-run top of the 5th inning against Washington. 12 | HAYDEN SCHUH Odessa Track & Field (SO) Schuh received four medals from the Glenn Wolf Invitational in Deer Park, including two first places in the 100m hurdles (17.3) and 300m hurdles (49.7). She also added two 2nd places in javelin (99' 8") and anchor leg of the 4x200m relay (1:55.0). The sophomore is currently leading the State 1B in both hurdle events and is third in javelin. |

14 | SARAH WRIGHT Kentwood Fastpitch Softball (SO) Wright dominated the week with her play starting with Kennedy Catholic. She pitched an ERA of 0.00 with 19 strikeouts and one walk. With the bat, she was 2-for-4 and scored a run. Then against Tahoma, she tossed perfect-game in five innings of work, totaling an ERA of 0.00 and 15 strikeouts. Hitting she was 3-for-4, including a double and two runs scored. Wright currently has a 0.12 ERA after six games with 101 total strikeouts. 4 | BAILEY BENSON Gonzaga Prep Fastpitch Softball (SR) Senior Bailey Benson pitched all 20 innings of three games last week for Gonzaga Prep, totaling 29 strikeouts in the three games. She was 6-for-8 at the plate with a homerun and three doubles, including a 3-for-3 game against Mead with three RBIs. She was also intentionally walked three times on the week. |
5 | HIEN LE Capital Dance/Drill (JR) As a member of the undefeated Capital Dance Team, she competed this past weekend at the WIAA Dance/Drill Championships. She helped her team to a 6th State Title, despite an injury. In the routine, during a jump split, she pulled her hamstring - and continued to dance. She finished the routine in pain and the crowd roared and cheered her on. It was an incredible display of mental toughness, git, and athleticism. |
6 | LYRICC LOPEZ Foster Track & Field (SR) On March 24th, Lyricc Lopez rewrote the record books at Foster HS in two track & field events, running 10.74 (100m) and 47:59 (400m). The previous record in the 100m (10.85) stood for 14 years and the 400m record of 48.88 was Lyricc's record from last year. |
7 | KAIDYN MAIOHO Wilbur-Creston Track & Field (FR) The freshman placed 1st at the 46th Annual Ray Cross Invitational this past weekend at Ephrata HS, clearing 5-feet which makes her the leader in 1B girls' high-jump. Maioho also ran the 100m (9th), 200m and is learning to throw the javelin. Maioho is an exceptional student-athlete; she works hard in both areas, athletics and academics as she is one of the top students in her freshman class. Maioho also played volleyball and basketball this year, participating in the State Tournament where she received a WIAA sportsmanship award. |
8 | PIPER NISSEN Blaine Fastpitch Softball (JR) Nissen's first game of the season was almost perfect allowing only one hit, along with hitting .750 with two RBIs. Not only is the junior an outstanding player, but an outstanding teammate and leader on and off the field. With the little extra time she has she helps develop younger players in the youth league and devotes time after her own practice to help coach 3rd-to-6th graders. Nissen makes Blaine School District proud. |

She also has a 4.0 cumulative GPA while participating in the Running Start program at Lower Columbia College. |

13 | DASH SIRMON Walla Walla Track & Field (SR) Dash Sirmon threw a nation leading javelin throw of 201' 10" at the Central Valley Invite this past weekend. He actually had two throws over 200' and also won the discus with a throw of 145' 4", along with winning the pole vault at 11' 6", as the boys' team won the invite. |
14 | ANGEL VAZQUEZ-JIMENEZ Wahluke Track & Field (SO) Vazquez-Jimenz earned a 2nd-place finish in the 3200m last Thursday at Quincy HS, at the Best in the Basin Meet. He ran a time of 10.54 going below 11 minutes for the first time in his high school career. He then turned around to the very next race the 4x400m relay, Angel was running the final leg of the race and when he received the baton his team was behind by about 100-meters, where he chased down his opponents and won a neck and neck sprint down the straight to win by about 2 meters. His teammates were electrified holding him up in the air and singing his name all the way to the bus and home. |

4 | BRANDT GILBERTSON Stanwood Baseball (SR) Gilbertson tossed a complete-game 1-hit shutout in Stanwood's 1-0 win over Oak Harbor on March 18th. He only allowed one base runner in the game (the hit) and nearly notched a perfect game. He faced 22 batters over 7 innings and using only 67 pitches, with 54 of them strikes. Over the week, he cruised through 13 innings by only giving 1 earned run. Gilbertson carries a GPA of 3.97 and is a three-sport letterman with letter in tennis, basketball, and baseball. |
5 | LOWA GRESHAM Bellingham Tennis (JR) Playing at #1 singles, the junior won two matches in straight-sets last week to help lead the Bayhawks to two team victories against Burlington-Edison and Mount Vernon. Gresham has a 3.86 GPA and also qualified for State in Horseback Riding last spring. |
6 | JOLEE HADALLER Mossyrock Fastpitch Softball (SR) Jolee Hadaller pitched a complete-game in her team's season opener with 12 strikeouts and two walks. She also was 3-for-4 in the batter's box with two doubles and an RBI. The senior has been one of two starting pitchers for the Mossyrock team since she was an 8th grader. Her 8th grade and freshman year, she posted the highest batting average on the team. Hadaller received 2nd team all league honors as a freshman in the 2B Central League. In her junior season, she received 1st team all-league in the 1B Coastal League. |
7 | ALEX HARRIS Columbia River Soccer (JR) Junior Alex Harris netted five goals and had three assists as Columbia River's soccer team won its first three games of the season. This included a hat-trick in a 3-0 victory over Hockinson. |
8 | MIA HICKS Zillah Track & Field (SO) At the 17-team Papa Wells Invitational (multi-classifications of schools) in Yakima, Hicks took 1st-place in the triple-jump and 200m, and 2nd in both the 100m and long-jump. She now leads the 1A State in the 100m, 200m, long-jump, and is 2nd in the triple-jump. |
9 | WILLIAM IDSO Ocosta Track & Field (SR) In the first meet of the season, Idso won the 100m, 200m, and high-jump at a 5-school meet. He also anchored the 4x400m relay team to victory. Two days later, at the Icebreaker Invite with 19 participating schools, the senior won the high-jump and placed 2nd in the 100m and 200m. Idso put in a ton of time this off-season preparing for track, along with always being humble and dependable to his team. He is a talented athlete who character and leadership shines even brighter. |
10 | SKYLER LANGSTON North Beach Track & Field (SR) Langston has had a great opening to her senior campaign. She has had top four finishes in the 3200-meter run in her opening league meet of the season, and also in the highly competitive Rainier Icebreaker Meet on March 19th. Her most notable accomplishment thus far in the season is that she is currently ranked #1 in the 2B District 4 for the 3200-meter run. The senior is a strong student as well, and is a pillar of our school community. She is always working to do and be her best, both on and off the track. |
11 | FERNANDO LOPEZ VEGA Chiawana Soccer (JR) The junior scored two goals versus conference opponent Kennewick on March 15th, and followed that up with two goals against Hanford as well. Chiawana won both games by the score of 2-0. In two games, Fernando has four goals on the season. Additionally, he balances soccer, running start, a job, and currently holds a 4.0 GPA. |

She managed to win 6-0, 6-0, never giving up a point, which rarely happens in the sport of tennis. She is an extremely kind and level-headed individual, who looks to progress her game as she grows older. |

3 | JACK CROCI Cashmere Baseball (JR) Junior Jack Croci had a great weekend as the Bulldogs split a pair of non-league games against Tonasket on 3/12. In game one, Croci collected two hits and stole three bases to lead the Bulldog offense. He also pitched three scoreless innings of relief, while striking out 9 batters, and only allowing one hit. In game two, he had the go-ahead RBI when he doubled in the bottom of the 6th inning to lead the Bulldogs to their first win of the season. Croci finished the double-header 3-for-6 and swiped 5 stolen bases. |
4 | ZACH ENGH East Valley (Spokane) Baseball (SR) In the season opener double-header, Engh went 3-of-5 at the plate and added 3 stolen bases. He also pitched the last three innings of the first game and had no earned runs. The senior adds to his resume by playing shortstop and center field. |
5 | CURTIS FURUKAWA Interlake Soccer (SR) Furukawa is an exceptional student-athlete for Interlake as he manages school, soccer, and his internship at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. He holds a 4.0 GPA at the international school and is in his fourth year playing soccer for his home school. Last week, he helped the team win with one goal and an assist from his corner kicks. |

Gosztola (a Gonzaga Baseball commit) was absolutely dominate on the mound with 5 innings of work, giving up 1 hit, stuck out 8 batters, and gave up 0 runs. He finished the game with a 0.00 ERA, leading West Seattle HS to an opening season victory. |

8 | LAURYN MADSEN Warden Basketball (SO) Madsen help lead Warden Girls Basketball team to its' first State Championship. She averaged 17 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 steals per game. The sophomore sparked a 22-0 run in the Championship game to seal the victory. Also, she is also a solid teammate and leads by example with positive support. |

10 | ASHLYN NIELSEN Walla Walla Track & Field (SR) Nielsen topped both in the girls' 100-meter and the 200 for the Blue Devels in the 5-team jamboree hosted at Walla Walla HS on 3/12. The Wa-Hi team bested most of the events on the day. |
11 | ABIGAIL NIEVES Wahluke Track & Field (SR) The senior had an 8-second PR (personal best) in the 400-meter race at last week's jamboree at Wenatchee HS. She improved from a 1:11 to a 1:03 to finish 2nd-place overall. |
12 | DOMINIC RICCOBENE Sequim Golf (SR) Riccobene was the varsity golf match medalist on March 10th. Playing in frigid conditions, the senior shot a 1 over par 37, which was the only score in the 30's that day. He played well all day, sticking to his process and not getting too down or up. On his last hole, he faced a difficult shot, having to flop a 60 degree wedge over a bunker to a tucked pin. While others may have made multiple attempts, Riccobene saw his shot, committed to it, and hit a beauty. It banked off the pin, and he calmly rolled in his putt for a closing par. Dom is a great player, yet he is constantly working hard to become even better. |
13 | IZZY VICK Selah Fastpitch Softball (JR) Izzy Vick, the co-captain of the Selah Vikings, helped her team split a double-header against 3A Kamiakin by going 4-of-7 with the bat, including three homeruns and six RBI. Her first at-bat of the season she connected on a 2-run blast over the wall. Last Saturday also marked the end of her winter trimester as a junior at Selah HS where she maintains a 4.0 GPA, taking mostly college-level courses. Vick's GPA is ranked #1 out of 298 students. |
14 | SHELBY ZEHM University Cheer (SR) The senior scored in the top percent of Washington State, qualifying her to compete in the final round at Cheer All-State in the non-tumbling division. She is finishing her senior year by cheering on the sideline for both fall and winter seasons. She also participated with the team by competing at the State-level in traditional and game-day. Her positive attitude, leadership, and drive have made her an extremely important contributor to this year's team's success. In addition to being a cheerleader, Zehm is involved in several school organizations, a member of the Spokane Lilac Royalty Court, and holds a GPA of 3.987. |

3 | DAWSON ADAMS Lynden Basketball (SR) The 6-foot-1 senior helped the #2 Lynden Lions to a 22-2 season record, capping it off with a 2A State Championship win over #4 Pullman 51-34 in Yakima. He finished with a double-double (15 points and 10 rebounds), while guarding the best player (6-foot-8 Grayson Hunt) on Pullman's team. It was Lynden's 11th State Title in program history and fifth under head coach Brian Roper. |
4 | JAYLEEN BELLO Tonasket Basketball (SO) Along with maintaining a 4.0 GPA and being selected for team captain, this sophomore was nominated for the 2nd Team All-League Award and will participate in the All-League game this year. As a shooting guard, Bello led the Tigers to a State Regionals game with a season combined 335 points, 75 steals, 68 rebounds, and 31 assists. She is a devoted athlete who trains multiple times a day and her dedication and passion are demonstrated on and off the court. She is an exceptional basketball player with a bright future ahead of her and is constantly seeking the best competition to help her progress. |
5 | COLTON BERG Sunnyside Christian Basketball (SR) First-year player Colton "Ice" Berg provided a spark off the bench for the Sunnyside Christian boys team to capture a third place finish as this year's State Basketball Tournament in Spokane. Berg checked in at the end of the game and banked in a three-pointer from long range which brought the house down with cheers and support from his teammates, his opponents, the fans, and everyone in attendance. It was a wonderful display of sportsmanship and a memory that will last a lifetime. |
6 | KATIE FISO Garfield Basketball (SO) The sophomore played well all week at the Tacoma Dome, where the Bulldogs captured the 3A State Championship trophy with a win over Lake Washington. Fiso's effort over the course of the State Tournament earned her First-Team All-Tournament honors. In the finals, she registered contributed 8 rebounds, 2 assists and 4 points in 32 minutes of play. |
7 | QUIN GOLDSMITH Freeman Basketball (SR) Goldsmith led his the Scotties to a fourth place State-finish in a game over Zillah with 29 points, 1 rebound, and 1 block in 29 minutes of play. He ended on the All-Tournament Team with combined tournament statistics of 63 points, 15 rebounds, 4 assists, 4 steals, and 3 blocks. |
8 | CINQUE MAXWELL Curtis Basketball (JR) Cinque Maxwell excels on and off the court. Whether it's on the basketball court, track & field, community, home, or academically. He's intelligent, kind, works hard, and a great teammate. Maxwell is a prior junior Olympian sprinter, Hershey's Award winner, Elizabeth Wesley Academic Award recipient, academic his achievement, and recently was selected to the 2nd Team All-League North Division in the 4A classification. He has also volunteered at the Rescue Mission in the past as well. This past weekend, Maxwell aided in Curtis HS's State Championship run at the 4A State Tournament, where they knocked off #1 Mount Si 52-49 in an overtime thriller. |
9 | TYRELL NICHOLS Auburn Basketball (JR) Tyrell Nichols came off the bench in overtime to hit a key three-pointer to give Auburn the lead over Garfield in the first day of the State Tournament at the Tacoma Dome. This shot gave Auburn it's first lead in over a half and it was a lead the Trojans would never relinquish. In the State Semifinals, the junior scored a pivotal 8 points in a third quarter-stretch to get the Auburn offense moving after a slow first half. Nichols timely shooting and shot making helped Auburn to the 3A State Title last week. |
10 | RILEY PEARSON Willapa Valley Basketball (JR) Pearson made first team all-league this season, while pushing Willapa Valley to win their first district championship since 2005. At last week's State Tournament, he broke the 1B tournament single-game 3-point record in the Spokane Arena. He drained nine 3-pointers against Lummi in his second game of the State Tournament. |
11 | KYLEE RUSSELL Mount Vernon Christian Basketball (SR) Russell is a defensive specialist and guards the other team's best player no matter what position she plays. In the regional game, she held Pomeroy's leading scorer to 11 points. Against Naselle, she had 7 rebounds, 6 assists, 3 steals, and 2 points while holding the top player to 7 points. In the semifinal game versus Garfield-Palouse, the senior had 9 points, 8 rebounds, and a block along with her defensive efforts. In the State Championship game, Russell held Neah bay's leading scorer to 3 points. She had 9 rebounds 4 points, 2 assists, a block, and was 2-for-2 from the free throw line in the 4th quarter. Mount Vernon Christian's two seniors, had a 5-year career record of 102-29 with two 6th place trophies, a 5th place trophy, and now State Title. |
12 | LIBBY STUMP Lynden Christian Basketball (SR) Stump led the Lyncs to another 1A State Championship last weekend at the Yakima SunDome by hitting the game-winning shot and draining 31 points. She played with four fouls in overtime and also hit an "and 1" to tie the game up, then hit the free throw to take the lead by one. Throughout the entire season, she has demonstrated leadership, strength, and true grit. Stump is also a D1 commit and has demonstrated that with the way she carries herself on the court. |
13 | TATUM WOOD Eastlake Basketball (SO) Tatum Wood's first visit to the Tacoma Dome was a good one. She averaged a double-double in three games as a sophomore. She registered 15 points and 10 rebounds versus Emerald Ridge, 13 points and 10 rebounds against Woodinville, and 17 points and 10 rebounds versus Pasco. |

Boorman hit the game-winner from halfcourt with 0.8 seconds remaining. |
4 | LILLY CLARKE Ballard Gymnastics (SR) Clarke capped off her high school gymnastics career with a strong day at last week's State Championships, placing 3rd on beam (9.475), 3rd on floor (9.575), 10th on bars (9.0) and earning a career-best on vault, leading her to a 6th place all-around finish (36.9). The senior's scores and leadership helped boost the team to a 3rd place finish - Ballard's highest finish ever. |
5 | CAILEE DENISON Tonasket Wrestling (SR) Cailee Denison reached her goals and set new school records this season. She broke the record set by Ryan Anderson for most pins in a season with 30. Denison is the first Tonasket girl wrestler to place at Mat Classic. She placed 6th in the girls division of all classifications. The senior is a student leader at her school, and truly a pioneer for girls wrestling at Tonasket. |
6 | JIMENIA GARCIA Waterville-Mansfield Basketball (SO) The sophomore led the Shockers to the State Tournament for the first time since 2007, with 21 points and nine rebounds in their regionals victory over Muckleshoot Tribal School. |
7 | GORDON GIBSON Mercer Island Wrestling (FR) Gibson finished his freshman wrestling campaign at Mercer Island with a 35-3 record, and winning the 113-pounds 3A High School State Championship at the Mat Classic XXXIII. He is the first freshman in school history to win a State wrestling title. In addition to competing in wrestling, Gordon trains in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, skateboards, and holds a 4.0 GPA. |
8 | ROBERT GREF Issaquah Swim & Dive (SR) The senior won the State Diving Championship for the second year in a row with a total of 475.60, placing his qualification in for All-American consideration for the fourth year in a row. His dedication and work ethic have been motivators for not only his teammates, but his ability to elevate his competitors. |
9 | DIEGO JAQUES Walla Walla Basketball (SR) Senior guard Diego Jaques recently hit 1,000 points in his high school career, making him one of few in Walla Walla school history. On and off the court Diego shows hard work and dedication, having a 3.8 GPA to show for. He is also active in the Boy's Federation Club at the school, where the club is actively participating in community service. Whether it is leaf raking, snow shoveling or raising money for a family in need, Diego finds different ways to give back positively to the Walla Walla community. |
10 | JADYN JOHNSON Toppenish Basketball (SO) It's been one of the most successful seasons in school history, with Jadyn Johnson leading the way. In the district and regional games this post season, the sophomore averaged 11 points, 14 rebounds (had 17 rebounds in the regional game against Tenino), 3.4 assists, 2.8 steals, and 1.6 blocks (5 versus Tenino) per game. Johnson has been an all-around performer all season, to go along with her uplifting energy to her teammates. |
11 | WILLIAM MILLER Pullman Swim & Dive (SO) Miller swam outstanding this season with multiple awards, honors, and school records. At State, he was the champion in the 200 free, breaking his own school record from districts. He also swam the fly in the record setting 200 medley relay, which took 1st place. Miller's 2nd place finish in the 100 freestyle and his participation on the championship 400 freestyle relay helped his team secure the 2nd place trophy at the State Swim & Dive Championships. He is also one of the most couretous and humble team members. He accepts praise with a simple thank you and a smile, but internally he uses it to motivate himself. Additionally, Miller is a highly motivated student who excels in the classroom with a 4.0 GPA, while taking advanced classes like honors statistics, honors algebra, Spanish III, and AP European History. He is also a competitive participant on both his school's math and science teams. |
12 | MYLINA PLUFF Chief Leschi Basketball (SR) Pluff is a leader on and off the court. She is helping lead her team to State for the first time in Chief Leschi history. The senior was also recently selected on the 1st team all-conference, to along with receiving her 1,000-point ball. She plans to continue her education and basketball career at Edmonds College next year. |
13 | SYDNEY REISNER Burlington-Edison Basketball (SR) The senior scored 17 points, grabbed 4 rebounds, and had 2 steals in helping lead the Tigers in the upset of #1 seed Tumwater in the regional round of the 2A State Tournament last week. She had an outstanding senior season recovering from a broken collarbone. Reisner was voted by her teammates as one of two team captains and led the Tigers in scoring this season with 14.6 points per contest. |

3 | ZAK ABDULKADIR Sammamish Basketball (JR) Zak Abdulkadir, voted 1st team by the coaches in his league, helped lead the Redhawks to a 3-0 recorded (all loser-out games) last week and to their first Regional berth in seven years. For the week, the junior averaged 27.3 PPG, on 60% from two-point FG, 45% from three-point arch, and 86% from the free-throw line. He also broke a playoff school record with 42 points in their first game of the week against Steilacoom. |
4 | LIAM CAMPBELL Newport (Bellevue) Swim & Dive (JR) The junior was awarded the State 4A Swimmer of the Meet at last weekend's State Championships at the King County Aquatics Center. He led Newport to a 2nd place finish at the 4A State Meet with a 1st place finish in the 100 freestyle, a 2nd in the 50 freestyle, and helped his 200 medley relay team capture 1st place and a meet record. |
5 | MADISYN ERICKSON Yelm Wrestling (SO) Erickson has accomplished a lot in both her wrestling career and in the classroom. She gives 100% into the sport of wrestling, while maintaining a 3.8 GPA at her school. Her record entering the State Tournament was 21-2, while capturing 1st place at Regionals. At the Mat Classic this past weekend, she wrestled to 4th place in the 115-lbs. girls weight class to end the season. |
6 | MARGREIT GALOW Saint George's Basketball (JR) In three loser-out district basketball games last week, Galow hit 10 three-point shots including a buzzer beater three against Kettle Falls on February 17th. She had 13 points and 9 assists in a win over Upper Columbia Academy on February 15th and followed that up with 20 points and the game-winner on February 17th. Then, in the final game of the week she registered 12 points, 11 rebounds, 4 steals, and 4 assists to put her team in the Regional playoff bracket. |
7 | KALI KAST Moses Lake Christian Academy/Covenant Christian Basketball (SR) Senior Kali Kast averaged 16 points per game in the district tournament. Trailing by two points, with 3 seconds remaining on the clock and the ball at half court, Kast received the inbounds pass and put down two dribbles to hit a deep 3-pointer at the buzzer to win the district championship. |
8 | BRIAN LEE Bellevue Swim & Dive (SR) This past weekend the Bellevue boys swim team took the 4th place trophy at the State Championship Meet. They were led by Brian Lee, State Champion in the 50 freestyle and 100 butterfly. He set the State record in the 100-yard butterfly and was named the 3A State Swimmer of the Meet. It was an incredible two days of competition for the Wolverine swimmers, culminating with the team podium finish. |
9 | KOLTEN LINDSTROM Naselle Basketball (JR) The junior had a great 3-game district tournament stretch for his team. In the quarterfinals, Kolten dropped 34 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists, and 4 steals in a 87-39 win over Firm Foundation Christian. In the semifinals two days later, he put up 25 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, and 2 steals in a 64-58 victory over Oakeville. Finally, while being heavily guarded, the junior led all scorers with 21 points to along with 7 rebounds, 4 steals, and 4 assists in a loss to Willapa Valley in the district championship. |
10 | KIONA MICHEL Omak Wrestling (SO) Michel was in her first year of wrestling as a sophomore. In the 235 pound weight class, she has competed in girls tournaments throughtout the year. She placed first at Granger, NOHI, and Quincy. She placed second at Othello, third in the North Girls Sub-regional, and fifth in the Region 2 Championships, which qualified her for the State Tournament. She was Omak's first girl to compete at the Mat Classic. The next day, she won the Washington State Wrestling Asssociation Folk-style State Championship, also held in the Tacoma Dome. Michel has been working hard to create a healthier lifestyle and the hard work is paying off and shows in her success in wrestling. |
11 | GABI MIDDLETON Mount Rainier Dance/Drill (SR) Middleton is her team's captain and a 3-year member of the Rams' Dance/Drill squad. Not only is she a hard worker and a go-getter, she is an inspiring leader who encourages those around her to be their best. She is often the first one to practice and one of the last to leave. Her work ethic, focus, and determination for herself and the team has left an influential mark to all. Once she has accomplished a goal Gabi pushes for more by placing another goal in front of her. Her next goal is to dance competitively on the Boise State Dance Team and continue showcasing her love for dance and school spirit. The senior is such a talent and can dance any style of dance with ease and succcess. She is so entertaining and engagin to watch during halftime and at competition. Gabi competes in and has choregraphed sections in all three of the competition routines this season, which has brought home many trophies this year. Not only is the senior talented and an amazing performer, she is also an incredible teammate and friend to all. |
12 | KIMBALL RIPPY Lakeside (Nine Mile Falls) Wrestling (SR) Kimball Rippy, a senior, completed his quest for a State Championship at 1A 220-lbs. He was one of two wrestlers to beat a Toppenish wrestler in the State Finals this year. This was the first tournament win ever for Rippy, as he truly saved his best for last. He walks off the mat as a State Champion and continued to work towards graduation later this spring. The senior is highly involved in his church activities, and a mentor to younger teammates and classmates alike. |
13 | WAYLON THOMAS Tonasket Wrestling (SR) The senior has recently crowned himself State Champion at the Mat Classic to claim his third career title. He won in 2019, 2020, and now 2022. He took third place at the Tri-State Tournament in 2021. Thomas has been a great role model for younger athletes and has helped build the program. 14 | SIERRA WANGEN Curtis Wrestling (SO) Sierra Wangen hasn't let a 2019 scoliosis diagnosis keep her from accomplishing her goals. Prescribed a brace to wear 16-20 hours a day, but cleared to participate in sports. Wangen continued to fearlessly participate in running and wrestling, taking her brace to meets with her throughout the following two years. As a member of the Curtis Girls' Wrestling Team, Wangen competed at 120-125 lbs. during the 2021-22 season, won her sub-regional, placed 3rd in her region, and placed 3rd at State at 120 lbs; helping lead Curtis to a 3rd place Mat Classic finish. The 14-year old sophomore is also a varsity cross country runner on the track team. She maintains a 4.0 GPA and is working towards a 2nd varsity letter in community service, serviing meals at a local homeless shelter and fostering cats through the local humane society. |

5 | JOHNATHAN GRESSETT Curtis Wrestling (JR) Gressett recently won his first regional wrestling tournament and is entering the WIAA State Wrestling Tournament in 4A with an undefeated record. This is after finishing last year with a 12-13 record. The junior also holds a 3.53 GPA and is in a leadership role with the Curtis HS Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC). |
6 | CHRISTIAN KING Seattle Prep Basketball (JR) Christian King put on a shooting display for the ages in the Metro League Tournament, nailing 15 3-pointers in the three games the Panthers played. He opened the tournament hitting 7-of-9 from deep in a win against Franklin, and followed it up with another 6 (on 8 attempts) in a double-overtime thriller versus Rainier Beach. It was his three free-throws with no time on the clock, that helped force the first overtime and ultimately send the Panthers to the Metro League Championship. For the tournament, King averaged 23.67 PPG and 7.3 RBG, while shooting 60% on threes (15-of-25). |
7 | ELLA KOEBELIN Klahowya Basketball (SR) Senior captain Ella Koebelin completed an historic week for the Klahowya Eagles by winning all three games and finishing the season with 14 wins, the most in school history and the #2 seed in the West Central District 3 playoffs. On February 7th versus Kingston (2A), she lead with 29 points on 9-of-17 shooting (7 made 3-pointers), 5 assists, 4 rebounds, and 3 steals in the 60-41 victory. Two days later against Life Christian (Nisqually League game), Koebelin had 25 points on 9-of-16 shooting (7 made 3-pointers), 12 assists, 9 rebounds, and 4 steals in the 73-45 victory. Finally, against East Jefferson (Nisqually League game), the senior drilled 28 points on 12-of-20 shooting (3 made 3-pointers) and had 8 steals, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists in the 80-32 win. |
8 | DAYNE KREUCH Lakeside (Nine Mile Falls) Basketball (SR) The senior registered 25 points, 13 assists, 6 blocks, and 2 steals against Riverside on February 9th. Kreuch plays with heart and leaves it all on the court, while keeping his team's energy level high and doesn't let his teammates get down. He understands it's not only about putting in time at practicie, but working hard off the court when no one is watching is the key. |
9 | ZACH LOPEZ Shadle Park Wrestling (SR) Lopez earned his 104th win in his career last week, including winning the district title at 132-lbs., won at the WIAA regionals at 132-lbs., and was named 2A District 8 Wrestler of the Year. He won State as a freshman, and is now qualified back to State as a senior after not having State the last two years due to COVID. Lopez has an overall record this season of 17-1 and has recently committed to Menlo to continue wrestling in college. |
10 | SAVEA MANSFIELD Washougal Basketball (SR) Savea stepped up to play two big games in the Panthers two wins last week. She scored 22 points (on 5-of-11 shooting), had 3 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals in a 67-56 league rivarly game against Hockinson. She guarded the best player on the opponents' team and held her to 10 points. The Panthers also picked up their first district victory against Aberdeen with Mansfield contributing 23 points (on 6-of-11 shooting), 10 steals, 8 rebounds, and 6 assists. She almost recorded the school's first triple-double if it weren't for a hand injury in the second quarter. |
11 | PRESTON NEUFELD Reardan Wrestling (FR) Neufeld is a freshman that wrestles the varsity 106-lbs spot for Reardan. He returned to the mat this year after lettering as an 8th grader last year. This year, Neufeld has stepped up to fill leadership roles in the practice room, his drive, hard work, and love for the sport has paid off thus far. He recently won the 1B/2B District 7/9 106-lbs. Championship. Placed 4th at regionals and is headed to the State Tournament at the Tacoma Dome. He has placed in seven other tournaments so far, with 1 gold, 5 silvers, and 1 bronze. In the classroom, he ended the semester with a 4.0 GPA. When he isn't in class or on the mat himself, he helps coach the local Washington youth wrestling team the Reardan Renegades. |
12 | RAEGAN PORTMANN Aberdeen Wrestling (SR) Raegan Portmann has reached the Mat Classic State Tournament as a freshman and junior. This year, she placed 1st-place at a Lacey tournament on January 23rd. Following that, she placed first at the sub-regionals, pushing her to the regional rounds and keeping the season alive. Additional, she has a very high GPA and is involved with honor socciety and many other clubs and sports at her school. |

3 | OSKAR BANNISTER Bainbridge Swim & Dive (SR) Senior team captain Oskar Bannister led Bainbridge HS to a stunning team victory at the West Central District III 3A Boys' Swim & Dive Championships on February 4-5th. He anchored both the champion 200 medley relay (1:38.83) and the champion 400 free relay (3:14.68). Bannister also easily defeated the field and won both of his individual events, including the 50 free (21.52) and the 100 free (47.06). |
4 | LILLY BASH Prairie Bowling (SR) Lilly Bash capped off the bowling season by winning the individual 3A State Championship and leading her team to a 3rd place finish. She rolled a 781-series, including games of 223 and 221. As team captain, she averaged 185 for the season, with a high-game of 238 pins. |
5 | ALEX BRAVO-JUMP Providence Classical Christian Basketball (FR) Bravo-Jump has started all year as a freshman and has been a key contributor in a season where Providence Classical Christian finished the regular season with its highest win percentage in school history. Last week, he scored 102 points while his team went 3-1 with victories over Fellowship Christian HS, Shoreline Christian HS, and Darrington HS. The freshman logged games of 16, 30, 30, and 26 points. |
6 | ADEN CARL Medical Lake Wrestling (SR) Aden Carl completed his senior year by winning his second consecutive league championship. His regular season record was 25-1 with 19 pins. The senior is a team leader and is always looking to help his teammates improve and to be successful. Carl is working to place at the WIAA State Wrestling Tournament for the third time in his career (6th in 2019 and 4th in 2020). To add to his accolades, Carl placed third at last year's Wastington State Wrestling Association Super State Tournament due to the COVID pandemic. |
7 | RYDER CRUSE Rainier Wrestling (SO) Cruse won last week's sub-regional wrestling tournament at Ocosta HS. En route to the championship, he defeated a returning State-placer and a returning regional champion, all by pin, going 3-0 for the tournament. The sophomore also is a constant positive voice to his teammates, as they compete on the mats. |
8 | AMARE JACKSON Highline Basketball (JR) Amare Jackson of Highline HS set a school record (held since 1991) scoring 51 points versus Evergreen HS on February 1st. He also pulled down 12 rebounds on the day. On January 31st against Decatur HS, Jackson dropped 41 points and ripped 10 rebounds. On January 28th, he had 36 points and nine rebounds against Tyee HS. |
9 | SKYE JOHNSON Rogers (Puyallup) Gymnastics (SR) Johnson has been dominating the vault this season, winning first place in every meet except one. In a five school competition against Puyallup HS, Emerald Ridge HS, Capital HS, and Enumclaw HS, she placed 1st on vault (9.35), 2nd on bars (8.05), 3rd on floor (9.4), 5th on beam (8.25), and 2nd in the all-around (35.05). |
10 | SLOANE KRUGER Black Hills Wrestling (FR) Sloane Kruger, a freshman for Black Hills HS, has a record of 23-2 including three tournaments wins (Yelm, Everett, and Curtis) and two 3rd place tournament finishes (Kelso and Lakes). She also won the District 4 North Girls Sub-Regional Tournament with two falls under 1:00 and winning with a score of 13-0 in the finals at 105-pounds. |
11 | AYDEN KRUPKE Reardan Basketball (SR) In three games, Ayden Krupke averaged 23.4 points, 6.7 rebounds, 4.1 assists, and 3.2 steals per game for the Reardan. She is an incredible athlete with a competitive spirit that rarely gets overshadowed by her opponents. |
12 | PAIGE LISHERNESS Montesano Basketball (SR) The senior tallied 18 points, 14 rebounds, and three steals in the Bulldogs' 51-43 victory over Tenino. The victory helped the team capture at least a share of the Evergreen 1A League title. Earlier in the week, Lisherness registered 14 points, six rebounds, and four steals in a win at Hoquiam. |

5 | CAVIN HOLDEN R. A. Long Basketball (JR) The junior guard played a major role as R. A. Long won four games in five days last week. Holden was the leading scorer in all four games and averaged 27.5 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists, and 3 steals. He registered 33 points, 5 assists, 5 steals, and 4 rebounds versus Hudson's Bay. Two days later, the team captain put up 20 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, and the coast-to-coast game-winning lay-up against Ridgefield. The following night, Holden had 37 points (17 in the 4th quarter), 4 assists, 4 steals, 4 rebounds, and a block versus Mark Morris. In the final game of the week, he posted a triple-double with 20 points, 12 rebounds, 10 assists, 3 steals, and a block against Columbia River. |
6 | JADEN JECH Sunnyside Christian Basketball (SR) Jaden Jech helped lead the Knights to an undefeated weekend. He chipped in 11 points in an 81-65 victory over Yakama Tribal on Friday. Saturday, he hit 3 three-pointers in the first quarter and finished the game with five triples and 19 points for the Knights' win over Touchet 74-37. |
7 | TYRAN LANE Lummi Nation Basketball (SR) The senior from Lummi Nation pushed his team to two victories last week and an overall season record of 11-1. On January 24th, Lane combined for 29 points and 12 rebounds. Then on January 28th, he collected 32 points, nine rebounds, four steals, and three blocks. |
8 | WHITNEY NAKATA Inglemoor Gymnastics (SR) Nakata is in her fourth year as a varsity gymnast and leads her team in scoring in all events. She achieved a personal best all-around score of 35.6 last week and had an event high of 9.6 on floor. The team captain consistently scores at least a 9 on floor. Also, Nakata is a 4.0 student and takes a full load of IB courses at Inglemoor. In addition, she's on National Honor Society, is the founder of FSO (Feminie Student Organization), volunteers at Eastside Baby Corner, and coaches gymnastics at Northshore Gymnastics Center. |
9 | ANDREW NGUYEN Hazen Swim & Dive (SO) Andrew Nguyen had a fantastic week last week, as he was a member of the school record-breaking and State-qualifying 200 medley relay. He also earned an individual State qualifying time in the 100 free, with a time of 48.54. The sophomore swam the breaststroke leg of the 200 medley relay, helping the team break the school record from 2015. Nguyen now has three individual State qualifying times and is part of two State qualifying relays. |
10 | PAYTON SHERIDAN Goldendale Basketball (SR) Sheridan helped a short handed Timberwolves team to a 2-1 record this past week. Over the three games, she averaged 20.6 points per game, including a career-high 34 points against county rival Columbia (White Salmon). The day before on senior night, with her team down late in the 4th quarter the senior hit two free throws to tie the game, then the Timberwolves forced a turnover and Sheridan drove the length of the floor and hit the game-winning shot with 3 seconds left in the game. |
11 | JACK SPRINGER Decatur Swim & Dive (SR) Springer had a standout final week in January, winning 2-for-2 in the 500 free and 100 back at the NPSL League Championship. He currently holds the fastest time in the league in the 100 back by 4 seconds and has already made himself an automatic State qualifier prior to the upcoming district meet. The senior also finds a lot of success in the classroom. |
12 | KYLEE STEPHENS La Center Basketball (SR) Kylee Stephens had a great week of basketball leading her team to two wins to stay undefeated in the Trico League. On January 26th against Seton Catholic, she finished with a game-high 28 points, five assists, and five steals for the 64-34 victory. On January 28th against Columbia (White Salmon), the senior leader had another solid game hitting big shots when needed. She ended the game with a game-high 33 points and six rebounds in the 62-49 win. Stephens finished the week by volunteering at La Center's Unified Basketball Tournament. |

3 | TY EDWARDS Sumner Basketball (SR) The senior captain helped propel the Sumner basketball team to four-straight victories in five games, with many key players sidelined for various reasons. The wins were against Bethel, Bellarmine Prep, Emerald Ridge, and South Kitsap. He scored 90 points over the five games and also pulled down 55 rebounds. He also holds a 3.95 cumulative GPA. |
4 | TEMPEST HEINER Mount Baker Wrestling (JR) Heiner is a junior who has been wrestling since 7th grade. She has a season record of 17-1 when wrestling in her weight-class and has won two of her three tournaments this season. She is a top-10 ranked Washington State high school wrestler and an excellent student with a 3.9 GPA. Heiner is a strong team leader and volunteers her time working with youth wrestlers in the community. Outside of wrestling season, she enjoys cross country and softball. |
5 | ALLIE HEINO Mount Vernon Christian Basketball (SO) The sophomore is having an amazing season for the Hurricanes, averaging 16 points and 2.6 blocks per game. Last week, she had solid performances with 26 and 20 points against Friday Harbor and Muckleshoot Tribal respectively. Earlier this season, she scored a record setting 39 points against Seattle Academy and was quick to credit her teammates for their great passing. |

7 | JONAS LA TOUR North Kitsap Basketball (SR) The senior dropped a school record 57 points on 24-of-27 shooting in a 97-53 victory againsts 3A Bainbridge Island on January 18th. He also added eight rebounds for the Vikings. |
8 | DANE LEWIS Kent-Meridian Basketball (JR) The Royals junior guard Dane Lewis scored 38 points, while securing five rebounds and five steals against Auburn-Riverside in a win. He also had 30 points and another five steals against cross-town rival Kentwood on the road, leading his team and all scorers in the game. |
9 | BROOKLYN LOOSE Adna Basketball (JR) Brooklyn Loose scored 32 points in a non-league victory over Ilwaco on Monday, behind a school record 8 three-pointers at the Martin Lutheran King Tribute hosted by Lower Columbia College. She has been the leading scorer in seven of the Pirates' nine games, with a 60%, or higher, shooting percentage in all nine games. Beyond the court, Loose maintains a 3.8 GPA, is involved in student leadership with ASB and is vice president of the Future Farmers of America Club. |
10 | CAILA RICE Clarkston Wrestling (SR) Rice is 7-1 in girls' competition and 8-5 in boys' competition for the season thus far. She is currently ranked #8 among 2A girls at 105-pounds. She placed first in the girls' bracket last week on Friday and first in the boys' bracket on Satursday, pinning all her opponents but one at the Clearwater Classic. |
11 | TRE' SEYDEL Raymond Basketball (SR) Raymond's senior Tre' Seydel recently turned in super games begining with 40 points at Northwest Christian on January 10th. He also added 11 rebounds,7 assists and 4 steals. A day later against South Bend, he tallied 29 points, 11 rebounds, 10 assists, and 4 steals for a triple-double. On January 15th, he had another colossal game with 20 points, 16 rebounds, and 5 assists at host Naselle. On January 18th, he posted 37 points, 8 assists, 5 rebounds, and 3 steals in a loss to Ilwaco. On January 22nd, he finished the week off by registering 40 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 steals in a win at Ocosta. Also, he is the undisputed leader of his team, but better yet he is great young man and student-athlete. On Friday, she scored a game-high 15 points, with five steals and four assists, as Cashmere cruised to a 55-10 league victory over Quincy. On Saturday, in a battle between two highly-ranked 1A teams, Johnson scored a game-high 25 points, grabbed six rebounds, dished out five assists, and had three steals for a 73-51 victory over Wapato. |

Not only is she a stellar athlete and team captain, she also holds solid A-grades and participates in Running Start. |

He has shown great leadership after returning from a back injury that sidelined him in his freshman and sophomore seasons. Pepper was instrumental in Selah's latest victory over Ephrata on Friday night, earning his first triple-double of his career scoring 13 points, pulling down 14 rebounds, and dishing out 12 assists in a 71-65 victory and 3-1 league record in the Central Washington Athletic Conference. |
13 | MIA PIERCE Upper Columbia Academy Basketball (JR) Pierce had 34 points, five steals, and three rebounds in a league win versus Northwest Christian. She followed that with a 31-point performance with three rebounds, three steals, and one assist in a close loss against league opponent Reardan. This last weekend she finished 4-0 in winning her weight-class at the Battle for the Axe Tournament. |
10 | JOHN LUSTIG Colfax Basketball (SR) Lustig erupted for 51 points against the Liberty (Spangle) Lancers, winning the game 68-65 by a slim margin. He has also scored 40-plus points on other occasions this season. |
11 | SEDEAJU MICHEL Omak Basketball (JR) Michel is the epitome of a student-athlete, boasting a 3.5 GPA, along with being a member of Honor Society and Future Farmers of America. She is also the Junior Class President and gives her time to developing youth by coaching a 3rd grade girls AAU basketball team. The junior is a three-sport varsity athlete, competing in volleyball, basketball, and track & field. She is the team captain in volleyball and basketball, and she was voted the Caribou Trail League's Field Athlete of the Year in 2021. This week, Michel led her team with career highs in points (24) and 3-pointers (6) against Tonasket. She followed that performance up with a team high 22 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 steals in a come-from-behind win against Brewster. 14 of her 22 points came in the 4th quarter. Sedeaju Michel is a positive role model for young girls with her strong work ethic and desire to be involved in her school and community. |
12 | KENNEDY WILCOX Prairie Wrestling (JR) En route to winning the Kelso girls tourney, Kennedy Wilcox knocked off the #1 ranked girl from Oregon at 125-pounds, who previously placed 3rd and 4th at the Idaho State Championships. In the finals, she dominated a very worthy opponent 16-3, who is currently ranked #2 in Washington state and is last year's super State Champion and placed 19th in the nation. |

8 | MALIA GARCIA Mount Vernon Basketball (SO) The sophomore led the Mount Vernon Bulldogs to two come-from-behind wins last week. Garcia poured in 31 points against Sehome to fuel the 60-58 victory, and her 13 points led the Bulldogs to a 14 point comeback in the second half against Blaine for a 54-51 win. She is averaging 17 points and 9.5 rebounds over the first seven games of the season, leading the team in both categories. "Malia has an incredibly powerful competitive drive. She's determined to make winning plays and her will to win is absolutely awesome," said MVHS Head Coach Bill Nutting. |
9 | KELSON GEBBERS Brewster Basketball (JR) Gebbers came out against Quincy and played a great game to help lead the Bears to a 68-65 victory. He led the team with 28 points on 6-for-12 in two-point land and 5-for-11 beyond the arc, along with a free-throw. The junior helped keep the team fired up and focused on winning the tough game against a highly regarded and ranked 1A squad that has great talent as well. Gebbers is averaging 18.2 points per game after the Quincy game. |
10 | JUSTICE HART Yakama Nation Tribal Basketball (SR) Justice Hart is a great student-athlete carrying a 3.3 cumulative GPA. He leads the Yakama Eagles averaging 25.5 points, eight rebounds, and six assists per contest. He's a big man underneath standing at 6'2" but can also shoot the NBA range 3-pointers from the outside. He scored 26 to win over Sunnyside Christian, scored 29 in a loss to Pomeroy and scored 31 to win over Naselle. He is a quiet, respectful young man who cares deeply for his teammates and school. |
11 | ETHAN MARTIN Arlington Basketball (SR) The senior is averaging 27.5 points, eight rebounds, four assists, and two steals per game for Arlington. He has scored double-digits in each game this season leading to a 5-1 team record and a 3-0 league record. Martin recorded 31 and 37 points against Mountlake Terrace and Shorecrest, despite being double-teamed in both contests. |
12 | JADYN MITCHELL Liberty Bell Basketball (SR) Mitchell has averaged 22 points and 12 rebounds in her first four games. Last week, the 4-year starter and captain scored her 1000th career point. She is also on the honor role, National Honors Society, and is president of the Key Club. |
13 | LYNNEA MORAN Hanford Basketball (SO) On December 22nd, Moran led the Hanford Falcons with the upset win over Prosser, who was undefeated at the time at 6-0 at the Gesa Credit Union Winter Basketball Shootout, in Wenatchee. She scored a career high 27 points and went 4-of-6 from behind the arc. The sophomore is also a volunteer coach with her father for young girls in the community, while maintaining a 4.0 GPA in the classroom. |
14 | HUGH WHEELER Cashmere Wrestling (SO) Wheeler wrestles 145 for Cashmere and is 12-1 on the season. He has won the last two tournaments he has entered. A tough wrestler on the mat, one of his biggest contributions to his team and community is his high gear work ethic and positive attitude. He is consistently pushing and supporting his teammates to help them all be at their best, while working hard and leading by example. Over the last two years, Wheeler has spent time coaching and mentoring many community youth wrestlers at the wrestling club he started, called Timber Tigers. 6 | SOPHIA GOODMAN Nathan Hale Gymnastics (SR) Sophia Goodman is a senior and third-year captain. She started off the season strong with an All-Around win last Friday against Chief Sealth. She was also her session's winner for the 2021 Metro Championships. Goodman is an excellect captain, leading by example, encouraging her teammates, and has pushed through several severe injuries, both metally and physically. |
7 | BRAYDON HANSON Tahoma Wrestling (SR) Hanson has begun the wrestling season 9-0, with eight pins. He recently won the Larry Brown Tournament in Fife, going 5-0 with five pins. The senior is a two-time State-placer, with an amazing work ethic, but is an even better young man. He consistently stays after practice to mentor the younger wrestlers, do extra conditioning, or help put away the mats. Simply put, Hanson always seems to go above and beyond to model the actions all coaches look for in a student-athlete. |
8 | JONATHAN LOWE Southridge Wrestling (SR) Jonathan Lowe was 4-0 on the week including four first-round pins. He placed first-place at the Leonard Schutte Invite in Othello at 170-pounds and was named the outstanding wrestler of the tournament. |
9 | JOVAN MERCADO Omak Basketball (JR) Mercado started the season off on fire. He had a 41-point game against Cashmere that included six 3-pointers, 13 free-throws, five steals, and five assists. Off the court, he is involved in OHS Leadership and Link Crew, where he mentors freshman students during the school year. Mercado has a 3.75 GPA and is a three-sport athlete. 7 | ZACK LEE Graham-Kapowsin Football (SR) Lee has accomplished so much, on and off the field, leading the way volunteering at community events and coaching youth sports. He has been selected to be part of the Gridirion Elite program the last two years, along with being choosen to play in a fundraiser tournament for a coach he respected who lost the battle of cancer. In the last year of high school, Lee has totaled five games with more than 100 rushing yards leading to 1,300 all-purpose yards and a school-record 11 touchdowns. The senior ran for a career-high 192 yards on 20 carries in the State Championship game, where the Eagles knocked off Lake Stevens 44-7. He was selected as the sportsmanship winner in the game for his school. |
8 | COLIN MCINTYRE Vashon Island Wrestling (SO) Colin McIntyre won the Auburn Invite, pinning all of his opponents in the first round and is undefeated for the season. His wins and pins helped the Pirates finish third as a team. He is also an honor roll student. |

The senior running back rushed for 156 yards on five carries, and anchored the Warrior defense with nine tackles, from the linebacker position. |

12 | CADE SLAYTON Lynden Football (SR) Slayton posted an unbelieveable game versus #1 ranked Tumwater to help the Lions win their ninth State Championship. The senior, normally a tight-end, switched to quarterback in the second quarter and had 19 rushes for 81 yards and all three of Lynden's touchdowns (school-record for a State Championship) becoming the first to do so in Lynden's storied history. Slayton also was an anchor on the Lions' defense that helped limit Tumwater to seven points for the entire game and only 70 yards of total offense, after the opening drive netted the other 69 yards. Slayton is a senior who stepped in when called upon and is a truly selfless player who was rewarded with the title trophy in his patience. |

The senior also pitched in with 10 tackles on the defensive side of the ball. |

10 | TAIVIN VANDALEN Lynden Football (SR) Taivin VanDalen had a game for the ages in last week's 15-10 State Semifinal win over previously undefeated North Kitsap who averaged 47 points per game and was on a 16-game win streak heading into the semis. He led the defense in holding them to 10 points. He totaled a school-record 51 defensive points in a single game. VanDalen had 17 total tackles (10 solo and seven assists), one sack, four passes defended, one blocked kick, and a big hit to seperate the ball from the defender. |
11 | KEVIN WULFF Eatonville Football (SR) Wulff accounted for 411 yards of total offense in Eatonville's 38-6 win over Lynden Christian in last week's Semifinal football game. He was 13 of 16 passing for 324 yards and connected on two touchdowns. He added 21 carries for 87 yards and three more touchdowns on the ground. 9 | KYLA RADFORD Klahowya Soccer (SR) Radford plays center back for the Klahowya girls team which finished the season with a record of 18-1-2. They placed first in the Nisqually League and at Districts, and finished third at State. Radford netted a total of 14 goals, with over half of them being headers. She scored her final high school career goal in last week's State semifinal game. Additionally, the senior captain is a multi-sport varsity athlete playing soccer, basketball, and fastpitch for the Eagles. She also plays year-round premier soccer. Radford is a member of National Honor Society, is ASB Executive Board Secretary and Sports Medicine President. In addition to maintaining a 4.0 GPA, she was nominated by her peers to be on Homecoming Court. |
10 | AMEY RAINAUD-HINDS Burlington-Edison Volleyball (SR) Amey Rainaud-Hinds' first three years on varsity she was a starting setter where she racked up impressive ace and assist statistics. This year, her team needed her to move into a more offensive position. She flourished with the change adding double-digits kills in every match this season, totaling 303. She also broke a program record for season (105) and career (249) aces. Rainaud-Hinds was recently honored as Northwest Conference MVP. |

She then scored the lone goal for the Chinooks in a shootout win against Highland in the State semifinal. Kalama went on to beat the Adna Pirates in another shootout to give the Chinooks their first State Title in program history. |
13 | MIA TUNISON Mead Volleyball (SR) Tunison led Mead to the 3A Volleyball State Championship last week at the Yakima Valley SunDome. The Panther senior hit .319, had 33 kills, led the team in passing (2.15) and had 47 digs. It was Mead's eighth State Championship in history. |
14 | TARYN VRIELING Kamiakin Volleyball (SR) Vrieling is one of the senior team captains who led the Kamiakin Braves to a ninth-place finish at the State Tournament in Yakima. Her play and leadership was impressive throughout the tournamet by totaling 59 kills, 31 digs, eight aces, five blocks, and an assist. Not only well-skilled in the game of volleyball, she also is a fantastic person, great teammate, and hard worker. She was nominated 1st-Team outside hitter in the Mid-Columbia Conference, where she led the conference in hitting percentage (.371), digs (190), aces, and serves as an outside hitter. Next year, she will attend and play at Eastern Washington University. |

Over the course of two days, and four matches, she totaled 123 kills, 81 digs, 23 blocks, and 11 aces. Additionally, the senior raises money for orphans, volunteers at elementary schools, speaks at assemblies, sings for a praise group, is a 4.0-student, and serves as vice president of her senior-class. |
4 | ERIKA CARLSON Ingraham Swim & Dive (SR) Carlson is an exceptional leader and helped take charge this season to motivate her teammates for productive, early practices. The senior broke eight school records this season including the 200 free-relay, 400 free-relay, 200 medley-relay, 200 free, 200 individual-medley, 50 free, 100 free, and recently placed second in the 500 free at the WIAA State Championships. She swam a 4:54.84, which is an All-American Consideration time. Carlson also finished seventh at State in the 200 individual-medley. She willl be swimming for UNLV next year. |
5 | PEYTON CLANTON East Jefferson Cheer (SR) Clanton is a senior at Port Townsend HS. This year, she was faced with some challenges including two major knee surgeries and her school combining with Chimacum HS in sports to create East Jefferson. She came into the season with a positive attitude and has shown the team outstanding senior-leadership through the changes. Clanton is not only taking her high school classes, but she is also taking Criminal Justice at Westsound Tech. She also is a cadet with Jefferson County Sheriffs and for a senior project is working at the elementary with student behavior challenges. With all of her extracurricular activities, Clanton has maintained a 3.8 GPA. |
6 | ABRAHAM DIAZ Waterville-Mansfield Football (JR) In the season finale, Abraham Diaz accounted for 367 yards on 20 carries and six touchdowns for the Shockers. He had five touchdowns of 40-plus yards. On defense, he added four tackles and one sack. Diaz was recognized as the League Offensive Player of the Year, despite only playing six games due to illness and injury. He also serves on the school's ASB government, is a member of the school's HOPE Squad (providing support for students in need), and is a leader of the school's BADD Club (Breaking Addictive and Destructive Decisions). Diaz is the most humble athlete on the field and is the first to help an opponent up, to celebrate the success of a teammate, and to recognize the efforts of others. |
7 | JUSTIN FILLA Toledo Football (SR) Justin Filla ran for 256 yards on 16 carries and three touchdowns in Toledo's upset victory in the first round of the State playoffs against the Davenport Gorillas. He had touchdown runs of 61, 70, and 72 yards, while showing great sportsmanship and respect to the other team. He is a multi-sport athlete and academically holds a 3.94 GPA while taking college courses. |
8 | AVA GRUNER Sammamish Swim & Dive (SO) Ava Gruner placed first in both the 200 individual-medley and the 100 fly at the 2A State Championships. She also led her medley-relay and 400 free-relay teams to second- and fifth-place respectively. She was crowned Swimmer of the Meet and helped Sammamish to a second-place trophy. |
9 | TAKARI HICKLE Tenino Football (SR) Hickle helped push the Tenino Beavers to their first State win since 1987, over the Freeman Scotties. In this win, the senior assisted the Beavers in scoring a Washington 1A record of 80 points in a State game. He had 34 carries for 406 yards and five rushing touchdowns. He helped the team to 11 rushing touchdowns and over 801 yards of total offense, all on the ground without a single pass attempt. |
10 | DELANEY KRAGERUD Naselle Volleyball (JR) Delaney's presence at the net helped push the Comets to a fifth-place finish at last week's State Tournament at the Yakima Valley SunDome. Her totals at State were 55 kills (.377 hit %) and 16 blocks in 17 sets against several top-ranked opponents. |
11 | SHELBY RUNJE Issaquah Soccer (JR) Shelby Runje had a foot in every Issaquah goal to lead the Eagles to a pair of victories in the State Tournament and a trip to the semifinals. In round 1, the junior scored the eventual game-winner nine minutes into the game and went on to assist the three other goals as Issaquah defeated Eastmont 4-0. In the final minutes of the quarterfinals, she served a corner kick that was eventually scored as Issaquah came back from a 1-0 deficit to defeat Eastlake in a shootout. The KingCo Offensive Player of the Year, Runje leads the Eagles in both goals (15) and assists (14); and having a hand in over half of the team's 51 goals this season. |
12 | DJOUVENSKY SCHLENBAKER Squalicum Football (SR) Djouvensky Schlenbaker scored six touchdowns in Squalicum's 49-14 playoff win over Highline. He rushed 15 times for 231 yards and five touchdowns. The senior also scored a touchdown defensively, after recovering a fumble. |

4 | EMILEE BERGSTROM Granite Falls Cheer (SO) Bergstrom is a second-year cheerleader at Granite Falls and in the last two years she has maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.9. She was awarded MVP at cheer camp for her hard work and dedication. She leads with a willingness to help her team or anybody in need. This year she took on the role of base position, after serving in a backspot in her freshman year. Bergstrom is also a great role model in her community. |
5 | SOPHIE BROESAMLE Lakeside (Seattle) Volleyball (JR) Junior Sophie Broesamle, and her team, won the Metro League Championship last weekend. Along with being a captain of the Lakeside team, Broesamle was named a 1st Team All-Metro honoree. She is a hard worker and contibuted to the team's undefeated season at 16-0. In three of her past games, the junior posted 49 kills, 39 digs, and seven aces on 47 serves, leading her team in many of these categories. |
6 | MACY FIDLER Glacier Peak Swim & Dive (SR) Fidler served as a captain on Glacier Peak's undefeated team this season which, in addition to an unblemished record, captured the WESCO North League crown and the District 1 4A Championship. Already a multi-time individual district champion and State finalist, she qualified for State in two individual events this year by winning the 100 fly and 100 back during the District 1 4A Championships. Fidler further contributed to two State-bound relays including the district champion 200 free relay, that just missed breaking the school record. |
7 | AUSTIN HARNETIAUX Seattle Prep Football (SR) The senior captain decided to add playmaker to his normal title of defensive stopper, in the district playoff win over Mountain View. Harnetiaux ran for a score, returned a punt for a score, blocked a PAT, and turned in 17 tackles in what was just a dominating performance which helped the Panthers secure a berth into the State Tournament. |
8 | WYATT LEE Crescent Football (SR) Lee had 21 carries for 348 yards rushing, averaging 16.5 yards a carry, and scored five touchdowns in the victory over Darrington to send the Loggers to the playoffs. He was also crowned homecoming king on senior recognition day. |
9 | ISAIAH PIERCE Montesano Football (SR) Pierce registered 192 yards and a touchdown on 22 carries in the Bulldog's 42-20 victory over Trico #1 La Center. Additionally, he added three catches for 92 yards and scored two touchdowns. |
10 | DANIEL QUINTANA Ilwaco Cross Country (SR) Daniel Quintana won the 2B State Championship race over the weekend in Pasco. He also won this race in 2019 as a sophomore and added a win at the virtual 2020 State competition sponsored by the Washington State Coaches Association. The senior continues to impress his coaches, teammates, teachers, and classmates with his positive attitude even in the face of adversity. |
11 | IVETTE RAMOS Highland Soccer (SR) Ivette Ramos is a very important piece of Highland's success this year. During the district tournament, she had a hat-trick in the first 20 minutes of the game and added an assisted to lead the Scotties to a 10-0 victory. She also netted a goal from 20 yards out in the district championship helping Highland win 2-1. Ramos was selected as a 1st team all-league player this year after coming off a broken ankle last spring. The team captain is also a 4.0 student. |
12 | MADDY ROHRER Fife Swim & Dive (SR) Maddy Rohrer finished first-place in both the 50 free and 100 free at the West Central District 3 meet this past weekend. Her 200 medley relay and 400 free relay finished in second-place. She also broke her own school records as well and the 400 free relay beat a school-record that went back to 2008. |
13 | JUSTICE TAYLOR Lakewood Football (SR) Taylor had a game for the ages last Friday night, as his Lakewood Cougars won a shootout with the Lynnwood Royals, 81-31. The 81 points is a school-record. Taylor had 17 carries for 377 yards, and scored seven rushing touchdowns, which are both LHS records. He also was 8-of-14 passing for 215 yards, with four touchdowns. He did this all in about two and half quarters. The senior finished his senior season with over 2,400 combined rushing and passing yards, and 34 combined rushing and passing touchdowns in nine games. |
14 | ISAAC TEEPLES Kamiakin Cross Country (SR) Teeples won the 4A State boys' cross country title on Saturday at Sun Willows Golf Course. He ran in a time of 14:57, the first sub-15:00 time since the State Meet course was reconfigured in 2018. The senior won the race by 35 seconds in very windy conditions, which is one of the biggest time differentials in 3A or 4A racing history. |

4 | CRYSTAL COLIN Wapato Cross Country (SR) Crystal Colin became the 1A District 5 Champion with a season-best time of 19:33, and qualified for the upcoming State Tournament for the third-straight year. She racked up first-place finishes in four races and won all her league events this season. |
5 | MELLONEY DEIFE Odessa Volleyball (SO) Deife, a sophomore at Odessa HS, is a second-year starting setter and first-year team captain. She is a leader on and off the court, with great knowledge and a strong will to motivate. Against Almira Coulee Hartline, Deife led the team in assists coming in with 44 assists, while also leading the Tigers in digs with 18. Deife also is the second-leading server on the team with 52 aces. The Tigers are 9-2 in league standings this season and hold a team GPA of 3.75. |
6 | KELTON GAGNON Klahowya Cross Country (SR) Gagnon has raced well this season including being crowned both the Nisqually League and District 3 champion. He also placed on the podium at the Nike Hole in the Wall and Curtis Invite. The senior's talents go further than just running, he also boasts a 3.5 GPA and is involved in ASB and was elected to homecoming court. |
7 | MORGAN HAMILTON Onalaska Volleyball (JR) Hamilton, a junior three-sport athlete, posted a huge game against Morton-White Pass, leading the Loggers with 24 kills, 22 digs, 100% serving, and four aces in the three-game sweep. She also carries a 3.96 overall GPA, and is involved in leadership council, ASB, 4-H, and a two-year captain for volleyball. |
8 | LOGAN HOFSTEE East Valley (Spokane) Cross Country (SO) Logan Hofstee has finished in first place in all of the Greater Spokane League 2A meets this season. She has run the third-fastest time (18:08.08) of any 2A girl in the State in the 5,000 meters and recently won the 2A league title by more than minute. Not only a superb athlete, the sophomore also gets it done in the classroom, maintaining a 4.0 GPA in all of her classes. |
9 | CLIVE IWERSEN Bellingham Tennis (SR) Clive Iwersen and his doubles partner Isaac Knickrehm won four matches in straight-sets to win the District 1 doubles title. Iwersen completed the season 19-0, including 13-0 record when playing doubles. He did not drop a set in singles or doubles all season. |
10 | LUCY KELLY Walla Walla Soccer (SR) Kelly is a senior captain and starting goalkeeper for the Blue Devils. She has allowed zero goals in regular season play and blocked two penalty kicks in the Blue Devils' District 8 post-season shootout victory against Ridgeline this past week. Kelly currently holds the program record for most goalkeeper saves in a single varsity season and has blocked an impressive 10 PKs this season alone. With Kelly in net, the team ranks second in program history for shutouts in a season, while earning the WIAA Outstanding Team Award for their GPA. She has verbally committed to play soccer for Columbia Basin College next year. |
11 | MATS LUND Interlake Golf (SR) Mats Lund finished as the medalist at the SeaKing District Tournament at Riverbend Golf Course, shooting 3-under par (33) on the back nine in rainy, windy conditions for a -1 (71) total, leading the Saints to a district championship. No other players scored under par for either the back or total score. He was in sixteenth place heading into the back nine and finished ahead of the fantastic field to win the medalist honors. After an undefeated regular season, Interlake finished fourth at the KingCo Tournament the previous week. Lund sunk a birdie on the first playoff hole to propel the team into the district tournament. He is headed to the University of Sioux Falls on a golf scholarship next year. |
12 | ETHAN PEDERSEN Eastlake Cross Country (JR) Pedersen earned first place at the 4A KingCo League Championship and the 4A Wesco-KingCo District Championship. He won both races by over 30 seconds in a very competitive 4A league, with KingCo providing the #3, 4, 5, 11 ranked cross country teams. |
13 | BAILEY SHOWALTER Mt. Si Volleyball (SR) Showalter helped lead the Wildcats to an undefeated KingCo 4A League Championship and a spot in the KingCo League Tournament Championship. She led the Wildcats in attacking with 67 digs, 51 kills, 12 aces, eight assists, and six blocks. The senior is a team captain on and off the court by leading by example. Next year, she will be attending USC on a beach volleyball scholarship. |

Courtney is applying to military academics for his college path. He has been quoted as saying, "keep insipiring others with your prerseverance and hard work." |
5 | PEYTON DALTON Naselle Volleyball (SR) Dalton helped seal the #2 spot for Naselle in their league and district tournament, defeating Columbia Adventist Academy (25-14, 25-19, 25-17) at home and at Willapa Valley (25-17, 25-13, 23-25, 25-21). She totaled 61 assists, 30 digs, nine kills, and six aces in seven sets during two matches. She is the team captain and leader on and off the court, and is always eager to take initiative to get the job done. The senior also directs the team's offense, running a 5-1 as the setter. |

The junior is the team captain and an all-around leader. Additionally, he excels in the classroom and is a member of the National Honor Society, the Junior Classical League, and serves as a school ambassador. |

9 | MACKENZIE MAYFIELD Lakeside (Seattle) Swim & Dive (SR) The senior team captain has been highlighted this season by qualifying for State in seven of the eight individual swimming events (200 free, 200 IM, 50 free, 100 fly, 100 free, 500 free, and 100 breast). Mayfield has also led her team to an undefeated record in the Metro League, while helping her team qualify for State in all three of the relay events. At last week's dual meet against Seattle Prep, she won the 100 fly (59.03), the 100 back (1:01.65), and led her team to wins in the 200 medley relay and 400 freestyle relay. Lakeside defeated Prep 118-65. |

She had a hat-trick and an assist versus Sunnyside and added two more goals against Wenatchee. In five games this season, Moore has recorded eight goals and dished out seven assists helping the team to an undefeated record. |

12 | ALEJANDRA RUPPE Steilacoom Swim & Dive (SR) Senior Alejandra Ruppe continued her undefeated streak in individual swim competition, winning all four of her races in State qualifying times. She has completed the rare "State Ironwoman" status by achieving State 2A qualifying times in all eight individual swimming events. Ruppe is currently ranked 1st in the State (2A) for 100 back and 200 free, 3rd in the 200 IM and 100 breaststroke, 4th in the 100 butterfly and 500 free, and 5th in the 50 and 100 free. She is an excellent team captain, leading dryland groups, helping notice swimmers, and inspiring teammates. |
13 | JOSHUA WOOD Graham-Kapowsin Football (SR) Wood led the Eagles to a perfect 7-0 start by beating the previously undefeated Sumner Spartans. He completed 15-of-20 passes for 275 yards and two touchdowns. He also had eight carries for 90 yards and two more touchdowns, as G-K won 41-14 in the South Puget Sound League match at Sunset Chev Stadium. He is also involved in multiple sports, the school's leadership program, and holds a 3.593 GPA. The senior continually is a great teammate, who works at his skills and sets high standard for those around him. |

The only race at which he did not take home a victory was at the Battle for the 509, where he finished 13th in a strong field of schools from all classifications. |

The Warrior quarterback amassed 190 yards rushing on 19 carries, and scored three touchdowns. He also passed for 102 yards and two touchdowns, while chipping in with nine tackles from the outside linebacker position. |
7 | ISAAC LOOKER Rogers (Puyallup) Football (SR) Looker, the Rams' starting quarterback, suffered a labrum injury last week on the opening kickoff. Unable to throw the ball, Looker was asked to play wide-receiver on his final home game and senior night. In his first game ever at wide-receiver, Looker ended with 11 catches for 177 yards and three touchdowns. Although the Rams fell short to Bethel, 19-23, he scored all three touchdowns and kept his team in the game while battling the injury. |
8 | ELLIE MARBLE La Conner Volleyball (JR) Marble has been a force and a strong leader on and off the court for La Conner HS this season. Last week, she compiled an outstanding 119 digs, 109 kills, went 98% serving, and was 77-of-77 on serve receives. The Braves won three matches at the Capitol Tournament, taking third place in a pool of 17 teams from all classifications. They also took games against Montesano, North Thurston, Ridgefield, and Kelso during the week. As captain, she led her team not only physically, but mentally as well. Marble is self motivated, confident, passionate, knowledgeable, and willing to do what's best for her team. |
9 | AARON MOORE Bear Creek Golf (SR) Aaron Moore, a senior, shot a round of 32 with four birdies, and led the Grizzlies to a school record team score of 142 at the Twin Rivers Golf Course versus Eastside Prep. He has been the medalist in three matches of the Grizzlies' 5-0 start to the season. Moore is also averaging 36.2 strokes per match. |

13 | TY RUSKO Arlington Tennis (JR) Rusko only started playing tennis as a freshman, but has worked his way up to being the undisputed #1 player on the Arlington boys' tennis team. He is currently 6-2, with his only losses being close, and all going three sets. Last week, Rusko upset his heavily-favored opponent from Snohomish in straight-sets and is on course to be the #1-seeded player headed into the WESCO 3A North League Tournament. The junior is a scrappy player with a can't-lose attitude, who gets to almost every ball, and a joy to watch. |
14 | LAYLA THOMAS Lakewood Soccer (JR) Layla Thomas scored a game-tying goal in last week's pivotal conference clash, during the first minute after half time and being down one goal. Then, with twenty minutes remaining in the game, Lakewood's keeper sustained a game-ending injury and Thomas demanded the responsbility to fill in for her team. Thomas, who hasn't played goalie since childhood, took the glaves and secured five saves to maintain the tie game. Her resolve, grit, and performance operated as the catalyst which secured a positive outcome for the program. |

The senior is a consistent and driven hard worker, who inspires her teammates to reach their own potentials. |
9 | JASE MARTINEZ Mount Rainier Football (JR) Martinez posted a great night against the Auburn Mountainview Lions where he recorded three sacks, one safety, and four pass deflections, including a game-ending deflection on fourth down with seven seconds left on the clock. Mount Rainier beat Auburn Mountainview 23-15. Martinez also holds a 3.4 GPA in the classroom. |
10 | MADISON MAXWELL Richland Volleyball (FR) Maxwell, the outside hitter, logged two amazing serving runs last week for the Bombers. On 9/22, she served 18 points in a row against Chiawana. The freshman followed up that performance by serving 24-straight points en route to a 25-0 win over Southridge. |
11 | JEFFREY MOYER III Wellpinit Football (JR) The junior scored three touchdowns in last week's game against Columbia HS. This included two returned fumbles for touchdowns and a rushing score, with all three touchdowns exceeding 50 yards. Defensively, Moyer III was in on 10 tackles. |

This while La Center went 5-1 during two matches, along with a 3rd place finish at the R. A. Long Lumberjack Invite (six matches). |
13 | KAITLYN SEWELL Cedarcrest (JR) Sewell is an excellent student and cheerleader for Cedarcrest HS. She carries a 3.9 GPA and is an officer for the National Honor Society. The junior is a third-year cheerleader and is very involved with school activities inlcuding DECA, random acts of kindness, and softball. Sewell also is dedicated to her local community by volunteering her time to the junior cheer program. |

Abrams was 15 for 22 passing for 275 yards, connecting on three touchdowns and three 2-point conversions. Abrams rushed for 205 yards and scored four touchdowns on the ground. He also had one reception for 25 yards, a successful fake punt, a successful onsides kick, and in the final minutes of the game he had a 55-yard punt to pin the other team deep to preserve the victory. |
4 | JOE BAFFNEY DeSales Football (JR) Baffney threw five touchdown passes and rushed for two more scores in the Irish's 58-8 victory over Touchet. The junior completed 7-of-10 passes for 176 yards connecting with four different receivers for five touchdowns. He added 141 yards on 10 carries, including jaunts of 15 and 32 yards for two touchdowns. |
5 | HAEDYN BAMBOLO Bothell Volleyball (JR) Bambolo, Bothell's starting outside hitter, dominated in last week's tournament and league games. In seven tournament matches, she had a serve in percentage of 98.5% (65 serves, nine aces, and one error), 95 hitting attempts, 54 kills for a .421% hitting average, and 47 digs on the day. Then on 9/21, she had a hitting percentage of .471%, 15 digs, and four aces. Two days later in another league match, she hit .344% on 34 attempts and racked up 17 kills, 17 digs, 23 serves (95.7% serving accuracy), and three aces. |
6 | DANIEL BARNA Columbia River Cross Country (SR) Barna ran to a victory at the Run-a-Ree at Hudson's Bay on 9/10, and then won at the Nike Portland Classic at Blue Lake Park, against all the Division 1 schools. He currently has the fastest 5k time of 15:32 in all of 2A in Washington. Barna has a great work ethic, dedicated to his teammates, and is easy to coach. |
7 | GRACIE BYRNES R. A. Long Slowpitch Softball (SR) Gracie Byrnes went 9 for 10 at the plate, hitting three homeruns and totaling 10 RBIs in three games. She also didn't commit an error and ran the bases phenomenally. As a 4-year letter winner, she is hitting her stride and leading her team in most offensive and defensive categories. |

He also recorded two assists and was involved in seven chances for goals created. The senior completed several successful tackles contributing to the shut-out win. |
4 | JACK CROCI Cashmere Football (JR) Croci led the Bulldogs to a 48-12 victory over Granite Falls, finishing the night with five touchdowns and 273 yards of total offense. He had four touchdowns in the first quarter and one in the second. His five touchdowns came by rush (3-yards), punt return (29-yards), kick-off return (90-yards), and two receptions (5-yards and 8-yards) with only 11 total touches of the ball. He also rushed for a two-point conversion and contributed defensively with a tackle and a pass break-up. |

On 9/15 in a 3-2 win over Pope John Paul II, McBride contributed four aces and four kills for the Rangers. |

6 | WYATT NEF Toledo Football (SR) Nef has been a true leader on and off the field for Toledo HS. This summer while the weight room was closed due to construction, the senior bought a used vehicle at a district surplus sale to drive his teammates to other workout facilities in the area, community volunteer events, and other team functions. On the field, Nef led Toledo in two victories to start the season. He racked up 164 yards and four touchdowns on 18 rushes in a 48-42 victory against Rainier. Patching was also 2-for-2 passing for 105 yards and had two touchdowns (52 yards and 53 yards). Defensively, he totaled 14 tackles and one interception. |
8 | ABBY RUSSELL Mount Vernon Christian Soccer (JR) In the first two games of the soccer season, Abby Russell scored eight goals for her team. The first game was played against Cedar Park Christian where she helped the Hurricanes come-back in the closing mintues of the game, after being down 0-2 most of the game. After scoring a goal late in the game, she took a 40-yard free-kick in the 78th-minute and hit it in the upper right corner just over the goalies hands to tie the game. Russell then went on to score six goals in her next game. |
9 | SOPHIE SEGERSON Bainbridge Swim & Dive (FR) As a freshman, Segerson competed in her first high school dual meet on 9/9 and dominated both in her individual events and swam the breaststroke leg on the winning and state qualifying 200 medley relay. In Segerson's individual events, she won and set the Sequim YMCA pool record, and qualified for 3A State in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:12.62. Additional, she won the 500 free by more than 10 seconds with a time of 5:23.80, just missing the 3A State qualifying time. |
10 | BRAEDEN SMITH Seattle Prep Football (SR) Smith continued to serve as the leader and catalyst of the Seattle Prep football team. In last week's 56-27 win over rival Bishop Blanchet, the senior accounted for five touchdowns and over 300 yards of total offense (253 yards passing and 66 yards running). This comes on the heels of his four-touchdown performance (including two return touchdowns) in the season-opener at Archbishop Murphy. |
11 | KARINNA TEL Rogers (Puyallup) Soccer (SR) Karinna Tel, a senior, netted four goals and added one assist in a three-game week for the Rogers Rams girls soccer team. |
12 | MAKAYLA WERNER Freeman Soccer (JR) Werner, a junior attacking midfielder, scored 12 goals and had six assists in four games for the Scotties. She excels in the classroom and also serves as her team's captain, mentoring a team compiled of seven freshman starters and zero seniors. Last year, she led the Northeast Athletic League in goals and was an all-league selection as both a freshman and sophomore. |
13 | LUCY WHITE Lynden Volleyball (JR) The Lions earned their first conference win of the season, defeating Mount Vernon 25-11, 25-7, and 25-10. Junior Lucy White had a huge night from the service line, serving 17 points in a row, ending the match with six aces. She returned to the lineup after an ankle injury had sidelined her from competing since last March. |
14 | ANGELINA WIDMAN Liberty (Spangle) Cross Country (JR) Widman, a junior at Liberty, is a State contender and is the currently leader for the 1B/2B cross country field. Her success in running is not the only thing that sets her apart, it is her character. Widman strives to excel in everything she does, including being a 4.0-student and a leader in FFA. In her spare time, Widman works on her family farm and volunteers to clean her church. She has a contagious smile and generous heart that inspires everyone around her. |
