7	City of New Orleans - Landlord Assistance	The City of New Orleans today announced that it will start providing $1.5 million in mortgage assistance to small landlords owning eight or fewer rental units and whose rental income has been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Grants of up to $15,000 per landlord to bring mortgages current. Applicants for the Small Landlord Emergency Grant (SLEG) Program will be required to provide documentation of their hardship and inability to make mortgage payments. Landlords who own 8 or fewer units are eligible; units must have a New Orleans address and cannot be short-term rentals. Landlords cannot pursue past-due rent from tenants during the time they are receiving mortgage help from the city.
