45	JH	It's me again! I was giddy to hear my voice on the show a few episodes ago. Ron, you don't have a crystal ball? Hmm. I expected more from you. It's looking like Motorola may be the first Android satellite phone to market. For $599 with one year of satellite service included, and $4.99/mo afterwards, this sounds right up my alley. Motorola Defy 2 The fact that it's from Motorola gave me pause, because of their reputation for poor Android update policy, but 2 years of OS updates + 5 years of security updates sounds downright reasonable to me. (See AAA previous discussions of pro's and con's of phone performance after many years of OS updates...) (If you didn't later in the episode; I am doing the risky sending email before finishing the episode) My widgets: Home screen 1: Pocketcast mini control, analog clock, Youtube Music mini control 2:Gmail (great for skimming for urgent messages), Google calendar (see what's coming up, add events) About the Alien video crashing the Pixel: This is serious; the next step after being able to crash a device is an exploit. It's good they fixed it quickly. Steve Gibson says it's extremely difficult to make secure media interpreters, so efforts to make the processes run with limited privileges are good. 50	HTD	Hello AAA crew. That S23 video was impressive! You might check out a similarly pro video called "Jackals & Fireflies" filmed on an S22 Ultra. You'll notice they filmed in terrible lighting and still got usable footage out of it. This was possible because they filmed it at least partially with a 3rd party app called MotionCam. This app records lossless raw video, a lot like RED Cameras do, and the file sizes are truly enormous. You basically need an attached NVMe drive to take long clips. So far as I know MotionCam is the only app on either Android or iOS that can do this. You have to render the video afterwards and the workflow is terrible but you can grade the footage with professional tools and squeeze the best color and detail you can get out of those tiny phone sensors.
