This discipline connects all of the natural sciences by integrating principles from math and physics to learn the properties, structure, transformations, and interactions of matter.Core 2020 is the foundation of the Catholic, liberal arts education students receive at Carroll College. The Core engages students in a broad spectrum of quantitative, scientific, aesthetic, & humanities disciplines. See additional notes & contact information here.

CH 301- Organic Chemistry I + lab4CH 302- Organic Chemistry II + lab4CD - Cultural Diversity (Can also count toward a distribution, if appropriate)*Semester study abroad - The Chemistry Department supports students who would like to participate in semester study abroad programs. For students who begin at Carroll in the fall of an even year (even year start), the fall or spring of the junior year is the only available time for a semester study abroad. Those students studying abroad in the fall of their junior year (an even fall) will need to find a course substitution at their host study abroad institution for CH 306. Those students studying abroad in the spring of their junior year (an odd spring) may be able to do so without an upper division chemistry course substitution. Talk with your chemistry advisor well ahead of time to plan for a semester study abroad experience.
