Minors at The New School
Minors are available to undergraduate students across The New School. Students majoring in The Arts (BA, The Arts) can enroll in any minor of their choice, including an Arts minor in a discipline different from the one already being studied in their major and they are allowed to double-count one course towards their major/minor combination. Transfer students are allowed to count up to 2 transfer courses towards the minor with the permission of the departmental faculty advisor and students must successfully complete a minimum of 14 credits of coursework in the minor at The New School. If you have questions about requrements for this minor that cannot be answered by your Student Success advisor, please consult Visual Studies' departmental faculty advisor.

The Minor in Visual Studies
The minor in Visual requires completion of 18 credits, distributed as follows. Courses should be chosen carefully, in consultation with the departmental faculty advisor. Note:
• Students must earn a grace of C or higher in all courses to meet the requirements for this minor.
• At least 3 of the 5 courses for theminor must be LVIS and/or LINA courses in Art History or Visual Studies.
• 2 of the 5 required courses can be fulfilled from other Lang departments/programs, including LCST (Lang Culture and Media) and from Parsons ADHT and NSPE; these
courses must have a focus on art history, visual studies, museum and curatorial studies, cultural studies, screen studies, media studies, or performance studies.
