BUILD
7
Help be Bandit's Build Swarm! You will be trained on the spot to assist with the amazing amount of random yet helpful tasks that need to happen to build out our event. We're not expecting Jesus level of carpentership - but it you can use a shovel, can climb a ladder, and know about the business end of a screwdriver then we'd love to have you in our team! Don't stress if you've never done a build before - we will help and support you from start to finish... along with food, beer and hugs at the end!

POWER RANGERS
11
Learn something about power while working out! Build: Run and bury (heavy) electrical cables as specified by co-leads. Strike: Pull up and coil (heavy) electrical cables as specified by co-leads. Power volunteers for both Build & Strike should be strong enough to repeatedly lift and carry 25kg coils of cable. Power volunteers for Build should also wear stiff shoes or boots, so they can safely jump on shovels while digging shallow trenches for burying electrical cables.

VOLUNTEER KITCHEN
19
Like food? Love making people smile? Want to support the volunteers? - Join our Kiez Kitchen! You don't need to be a chef, all the recipes and ingredients will be provided, we just need your enthusiasm to make this awesome initiative helping hard working volunteers get fed. And we need you to join the Polishing Pixies (dishwashing crew) - peace to reflect and get free life advice ;)
20
The meal lead is the "head chef" responsible for leading a team of cooks to prepare a meal. We supply the recipes, ingredients, and sous chefs/kitchen helpers, and you make sure we end up with food on the table at mealtime!
21
Want to plan out your own exciting recipes to cook instead of following ours? That's totally possible too - get in touch volunteer@kiezburn.org to discuss!

WELFARE CREW
37
Welfare already has a Core team, that is looking for more support. Welfare station is aiming for being available to supply immediate solutions for the well-being of KB participants. Our volunteers hold space and decide together with you how to reduce distressed situations - a cup of tea, a good talk, earplugs, a little rest with a cozy blanket or just being silent together and taking a deep breath. Volunteers should come 15 min in advance and be sober

FIRST AID TEAM
41
FirstAid is our area that is a 24/7 volunteer-run operations centre for first aid matters. We have our emphasis on prevention and preparedness, inform people about nearest hospital/dentist and operating hours, give information and advice to the community. We are bridging the situation until the professional help is on site.

We are focused on participant wellbeing, when things move beyond what can reasonably be expected under radical self-reliance. It is great if you bring some first aid experience like, first aid training, medical background, being a nurse, working in the emergency room etcetc. You need to be a 100% sober during your shift.

WONDERERS
45
Wonderers make sure that everybody is safe and having a good time, have the backs of those who might be having a little too good of a time, and weave the idea of taking care of each other even deeper into the Kiezburn community. Also, they get to carry a walkie-talkie! Wonderer Lead: If you have been a Ranger at Kiezburn last year, or any other Burn event, it would be great if you could take over a Wonderer lead shift! Wonderer Leads help to coordinate Wonderers and keep the contact to other teams on site.

FIRE GUARDIANS
53
Currently planned on Friday and Saturday at 11pm are two large burn events. Fire is a majical and wondrus experience, whether a faint candle or the epic sun, but the curiosity of this powerful element can harm us mortals. Fire Guardians will support the local fire-fighters coordinate the perimiter control of both events, watching the crowd to ensure everyone can marvel in the glory of the flames without getting Icarus burns. It also provides front row seats for these magnificent spectales.

PROTECTOR OF FLAMES
57
Guardian of the mighty Fire Benders. Observing their grace and oneness with the flames.

Sometimes, as all our mothers once said, when playing with fire, you're going to get burned. This is why in Fire Spinning communities, "Safety First" comes immediately after the first rule of fire spinning "Don't be a Dick" (except in France).

We need wonderful people to sit by the fire space manning the dousing blankets and dipping station whilst watching the show with front seats. Keep a gently caring eye on the dancers, and the fire torches on the ground that surround them. Most will likely be experienced, but some not so, and helping them feel that there is help on hand if the fire gets too much can calm these fire adventurers souls. It's probably the easiest and most enjoyably relaxed volunteer position at the Burn, currently placed at the Fire Element Area in the Underworld Valley (Workshop state, behind the sound system). No experience necessary, training will be provided. If you are fascinated by the flames and would like to learn to play, this is an excellent first step.
