Thanks for taking a peek at my growing list of local(ish) indie yarn dyers and fiber-related makers! I started this to keep track of dyers in the Pacific Northwest and BC (hashtag Cascadia) for a specific project. It turns out it's potentially useful for others looking to support local makers and designers for other reasons. Maybe you're in the PNW and want to support local makers, shopping for your FibreShare partner, or visiting the area and want to come home with a local souvenir. Whatever your reasoning, I hope this list is handy.

HOW TO ADD A NEW ENTRY
4
5
1Anyone with the link can edit the lists (on the next tabs), I just ask that you make sure not to delete any of the existing entries.
6
2You can add a new entry at the bottom of the list - don't worry about alphabetizing, I can sort easily later - with all the relevent info. If you've got notes to add about an existing entry, please do!
7
3On the MAKERS list, the "Medium" column is to indicate whether it's a yarn dyer or a local maker of stitch markers, project bags, yarn bowls, or whatever else fiber artists enjoy. Try to keep the terms used in this column consistent so it's easier to sort.

4We have a separate page for DESIGNERS, so please feel free to add folks there, too. I removed the "Medium" column, since everyone on that page should be a fiber designer, but if it looks like there's a good reason to add it back (maybe for crochet-only or knitting-only designers?) I will.

5Columns for BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ have been added to both the MAKERS and DESIGNERS lists. These fields are not open for editing by everyone. If you think there's an error in either column, either it's checked when it shouldn't be or not checked when it should be, please let me know. (jessica@insomniaknitting.com)

HOW TO FILTER THE ENTRIES
12
13
1If you need to see only the makers from a certain city or state on the list, simply click on the funnel-looking triangle of lines that's in the header for the column you want to filter by. Click on "Clear," and then click on only the name(s) you want to see. Next, click "OK" and, voila!
14
2This temporarily hides the other entries, it doesn't delete them, so don't freak out. Be cognizant of others using the spreadsheet at the same time, though, and maybe don't hide a bunch of entries until you're the only one using it.
15
3The same technique works for any column, so if you only want to see the entries for people who make project bags, for instance, you can filter in the "Medium" column.
16
4To put the spreadsheet back to the way it was, with all entries showing, simply click on the filter tool again and click "Select All." Then click "OK," and every entry will show up again.
