masters student (2nd year)
Not too often, usually just when I want to pick up my packages they ask for an ID, so I use the barcode on here
Just the student ID, but I use transloc for bus info (different app)
I know it has a lot of different information, sometimes I get notifications from the app about like some free giveaway happening on campus or something like that. I don't usually open the app but I'll just notice the notifications and know that something's happening
3, because there's a lot of features in there that I don't use or don't feel like I need to use. I would definitiely suggest it because your ID is pretty important and if I forget it at any point it'll be okay because my phone is with me, so I encourage people to take a look at it
realize she has to log in, it always logs out every time after a while and i have to do it again and it’s annoying. went to cards and turned everything on, then went back to home page and opened scanner
scrolled down and opened it immediately
it said no classes found in the schedule card, clicked reload and it still didn't show anything. went back to profile page, turned card off and back on, and went back to check and it's still not showing up (connection issue)
went into notifications first, then to profile and clicked notifications
I knew how to do them. Some of them didn't work for reasons that I'm not sure, like I'm speculating it could have been the internet or something else. But clearly, there was a lot of loading issues, it's very slow and seems very buggy
I'd have to shrink it down to a 2 probably, nothing seemed to work really
nothing seemed to work and it took a lot of steps to do things
maybe adding the shuttles in here would be great, I know there is one shuttle stops thing, but I don't believe it's very accurate and it's pretty hard to notice. Like you can't tell where the bus is, it jsut says it's arriving in 8 mintues but in the acctual bus app, you can see the tracking of the bus and you can see where it is. so maybe adding this inside of that, so then there's only one app to have instead of 2. // and in general just less steps so it's not just one long scrolling all the way down. and if it didn't have to make me sign in every time, that would all be nice.
the layout is not like 100% bad, like it was pretty easy and obvious for example going to notifications or going to settings, like all those things are pretty self-explanatory. I think maybe, instead of just one page scrolling to find everything, maybe a more organized way to get to these pages. like for example with the student ID card, I have to go to settings then turn it on and then go back. It's like, there's just so many steps there. If it was more intuitive or just always on for everybody, and the layout was different in that I didn't have to do so many steps to get to it, that would be helpful.

22nd year
Usually at the beginning of quarters to find classes, and that's about it. Imma be honest idk what else, except for COVID testing but I haven't done that since last year
To find my rooms in classes
I don't know much about how it works, I know it shows availabilities and times but I've never used it for that. Other than that I just know about the ID thing, the COVID scanner, the green thumb, and my classes.
2, I mean I more just have it as a necessity, there's no other app that shows those things, so I would recommend downloading it
Scrolled up to the top and got it
Scrolled down and got to it immediately (he was already logged in automatically and had his card turned on)
Scrolled down to the class card and got to it immediately, clicked View All to open his class card (was already familiar)
Went to the notifications icon on the bottom menu bar, scrolled and realized it's not there, then went to the right side profile button and went into notifications
The first three I've done before, but the last one I haven't done before so it took me a little longer
2, same response
I don't know what half the things do, and there's no easy way to figure out what half the things do. "enable advanced wayfinding excuse me?" It gets 2 points because the things I know how to do work . But sometimes the wifi makes it janky and sometimes features are not enabled and the cards are inconsistent
I think it should be more user-friendly and less buggy, like adding things from other UCSD apps, there's no reason for everything to be a completely separate thing (food ordering app, pronto, the rec app, the transportation app stupid transapp) Like i have a whole folder with everything. And out of all the UCSD apps, this is the one I use the least. The otifications are so useless
I like that you can toggle the cards, but I dislike how buggy it is, I also dislike how certain modules work, like the shuttles and parking and news cus idk how it works. And the news is just bland

Tammy32nd year
Probably twice a month
Either to get into the gym because I forgot my ID, or to check the busy-ness of the library
I know it has a lot of features, I just don't use them because it's poorly laid out and also glitchy.
1.5, I would suggest it for practicality
Opened it and then said "oh let me log in, SEE it logged me out! why'd it log me out"
Scrolled down and said "oh shit! it's right here!" and clicked on the barcode
Scrolled up just a bit and then clicked view all and scrolled down to Tuesday
Said "oh fuck" (bc initially thought she wouldn't know how to do it) Went to profile and clicked on notifications and found it
The COVID scan was easy because it was at the top like first thing || and the Student ID was also pretty easy but usually it's not, I just had to scroll a bit to find it but it was easily recognizable because my face and the barcode were right there so I was like "ok that's my student ID" || finding my schedule wasn't that bad but it was jsut annoying because of the layout like why is it like this *opens and scrolls* like let's say I have to find Friday I'll have to scroll all the way down, I don't like scrolling. and I don't like clicking a bunch of buttons || the notifications was not that bad because most apps are laid out like this where your settings are on the bottom right corner, and once you click it notifcations is right there and there were only 3 options after I clicked into it, but I think the little person icon is a little misleading because it's not really settings. Like if I was looking for setting's I'd go "where is it" and guess that it's maybe the person icon. The notification bell could also be confusion when you're trying to turn on notifications or change those settings
I'd give it a 2.3, it's not as bad as I remember it being
I was actually able to find things prety easily when you asked me to, I thought it'd be more difficult, but I still don't like the interface of the app at all and think it needs a lot of improvement
I just think the organization overall is really confusing, like there aren't any clear sections in it, like there is but not really. Like what is ithis map for? why is there a map? what am i going to do with this map? I l ike that theres a lot of featuers in one app
All the information is on one page right, that you have to scroll through, so if it's better organized with more categories it would be better, like let's say you have a section that's called COVID and you click in it and it opens up the COVID scanner and also the other COVID-related things. like it's okay to not have it all on one page

41st yeartwice a month
only for COVID testing
just the COVID test scanner
4, only if they need it for COVID testing
opened right away
scrolled down to ID
kept scrolling down and reached the bottom and didn’t find it, then went to profile and looked and didn’t find anything, clicked on notification s and scrolled then went back to home screen. pointed at finals schedule and then realized that’s different, then went to classes and opened view all
went into notifications on bottom menu bar and scrolled for a bit, clicked on links inside it, then went back to the profile on bottom right and found notifications
as somebody who didn’t know where any of those things were, they were a little too challenging to find because they were all related things that were found in different places, and the labels were misleading. like for example the notifications, I had to navigate to the profile corner to find notifications setting but there was a notification bell at the bottom menu bar so it was a bit redundant to get to the settings
3.5, same answer for suggestions. and also suggest it for classes and busyness feature
initial rating was based on what i knew, which is good and works
but dropped score because the quality or accessibility to the non-COVID resources is lower
i like the COVID scanner at the top because that seems to be the most common use of this app, individual visual features are good and useful so i might start using the app more
dislke the grey and black interface because it makes it seem uninviting. rather than having just anything at the bottom, you have the 3 bars in the top right corner that opens up to a side menu with literal titles so you can see everything laid out. // for the home page, better to implement is a card view, so right when you pen the app, you can see everything that's available to you, and they're little blocks you can click instead of right now it’s a scrolling format. so you can see everything at once. i don’t like the uncertainty of what’s coming out and it seems arbitrary the way they do the different categories // almost feel as if there’s information overload when i’m looking at it // "i"" icon for notifications, you cant click it and it’s not informative at all, so even just an icon for the type of event would be more helpful. it seems like a warning

this year once for COVID kit
just COVID scanner
I know that it can show your schedule and finals, but that's it, but didn't really use it. screenshotting off webreg is better
2, would not suggest it
got it
got it "that was easy"
kept tapping on finals schedule before realizing that's finals, then went to the right place and scrolled to friday
went to notifications bell from bottom menu before going into settings and then said "oh there it is"
It was manageable but I had all the cards turned on already so it was easier for me, like I knew about that feature. And if I didn't know about the cards feature and they were all turned off I would have no idea how to find it
2, still not suggest
It's just not an app that I think you would need to use every day, and also it's hard to navigate if you don't know the design well
drag to refresh the entire page/all the cards at once, would be nice. get rid of the map because people have maps on their phone already. it's pretty useless unless it was specific to the UCSD campus and had specialized information like rooms, that would make it useful.
I don't like the cards, the fact that they're cards and you have to turn them on. It would be better if you just included all the cards by default but made it into a more compact view and you can click into them to open it/expand the box

green thumb (never find link), covid test
3 (everyone needs it for covid test)
easy to find
could not find student ID, clicked on almost every section
i didnt know you could do that; could not find
was able to find quickly
1. easy, use all the time
overall 2: hard to navigate and unorganized, would not recommend it bc dont know to use it
buy things from the market get into apartment , duo push built in
too uniform, needs more sections, coloring is bland, too much scrolling (should make more similar to canvas

7Junioronce a weekcovid testcovid stuff, ID2easy to find
found in matter of seconds
unaware of feature, couldnt find it
easy to navigate to
was able to find covid scanner and ID quick because they were features they used weekly
still a 2, layout is confusing
though the covid and id features were easy to find, they layout made it hard for me to be aware of other features
quicker covid links; navigation to other tabs
home page is too long and "cards" tab should not exist; likes that there is a bulit in map and paking availablility (as someone whop commutes to school)

3found right away

same as ID with schedule
quickly found
the features I use more often were easy to find, but I was not aware of some of the others you had me do
3.5; still assists me in what I need to get done but layout is otherwise confusing
everything looks the same and its one long page
more tabs with better headings; duo push
page is too long and too little tabs; not very colorful/boring, likes parking availability

0 "obviously not useful if I've never used it"
Easy to find as it was on top of page
Was never able to find it/gave up
easily found after navigating to bell symbol
covid feature was easy to find because it was at top, gave up on ID and schedule after several minutes; notifications were easy to find based on symbol
1; wasn't able to find half the features discussed
couldn't find the features, i see no benefit
duo push, clearer navigation
felt like a long social media page. needs more tabs

covid tests, wifi trouble shooting; class schedule
4; very useful being a TA
easy to find
went to cards and turned it on
found easily in cards
found tab quickly
everything was easy to find; has lots of experience with it
4;; would suggest as its essential for covid testing

once per 2 weeks
events
events and reminders posted
2, yes because its easy access to school events
easy to complete
was confused on where student id was, scrolled through homepage multiple times, checked to see if student id was selected on cards, ended up finding the barcode
easy to find
tried looking in notifcations for settings first, successfully found settings and turned on notifcations afterwards
seems hard to find certain features, cluttered in one area
2, "sure"
all your info is in the app so theres no choice but to use this app
all your personal information should be seperated from school promoted info
first page- all info is in one page (dislike) pro is that the app gives you information about whats available

common space avail, parking, ID, maps
2.5, only if they dont have their id
easy to find/doeasy to find
difficult to find at first, tried scrolling through the home page for a while before realizing class card was not turned on
easy to do
pretty easy, if i was a new student it'd be difficult
3.5, yes
forgot you can look at classes, it has convenient features
student dining within the app added, more use of student id, it looks very dated, more in touch with our generation, videos and some features looks like ads
like seeing everything in one page, dislike how some features looks like ads and it makes app looks like a virus website
15
Khoi132ndonce a monthcovid test
central app for student info, schedule, final info, health
2, would rec bc you need
easy to find
hard to find, scrolled endlessly through homescreen, ended up not being able to complete task
scrolled through homepage for awhile, was not able to find
easy to find
difficult; boarderline impossible, you cannot tell between the cards
1; yes only for covid scanner
the design, color scheme, and UI is not attractive, hard to fine, makes the app not useful
edit cards should be a bigger focus, color scheme (i.e. grey on white) makes it hard to read, some features look like ads
16
14GradOnce a weekCOVID test
80% of the features but only mainly use covid featyre
3, yes bc you need it for school has important info but it doesn't offer a lot of info abt campus
Easy to findEasy to findEasy to findEasy to find
Nicely laid out, mainly uses Covid and it was on top to it was convenient for me
4
Covid scanner was just easy to use, students need to access important school information

Found it immediately
Didn't know where it was, finally we realized she wasn't signed in. Hinted her and the ID popped up first thing on the page. ~5 mins
Struggled to find, scrolled through page for about 3 mins and passed by the classes tab about 3 times until she finally noticed
Looked at the bottom icons since thats what took her to sign up and she clicked on the bell to get to notifications
Tasks were fun, didn't know a lot of features were present on the app as before, didn't enjoy the interface as much. Main use was for COVID feature
2; Rating went down because her experience with the app was bad, would suggest if it would get improved
Interface was unfriendly, eyesore, too much to handle
Search Bar, Better Icons, Better Styling
Likes Parking, Classes, Events, Free Food, thinks Internet Speed and Weather is unnecessary

Struggled to find it since didn't know where it was, had to look up and down the page for about 5 mins until I hinted
scrolled through the first page for 5 minutes, couldn't find it. then looked at the bell and clicked on it.
1; Told me that the app looked like it was made without a budget and directionless. Looked like app was from 2010 and with ads, wouldn't recommend it
Looked like app was from 2010 and with ads, complained that the app had so many things he didn't know about because of the experience.
Better design, better colorways, more prominent headers

1; Told me the reason he stopped using the app was perfectly portrayed in the interview
