Project Green ChallengeEnvironmental EducationProject Green Challenge is a 30-day global challenge for high school and college students. Daily, environmentally themed challenges provide students with mentorship, advocacy, and leadership skills. Participants are challenged every day for 30 days to contribute to a healthy and thriving planet. Daily challenges consist of four levels, which must be completed in order, with the easiest challenge (Green Level) completed first. Herb Society of AmericaGardenGrants of $300 to classroom teachers of grades three through six to create a school garden for educational purposes. The ArtsEdConnect partnership of the Santa Clara County Office of Education and SVCreates is pleased to announce that through the generosity of the Warmenhoven Family Foundation and the County of Santa Clara, arts education grants will be awarded again this school year.

The ArtsEdConnect program awards grants to teachers in public and charter schools in Santa Clara County to support and encourage arts education in our schools. The grants are available to take students on arts field trips, bring artists into the classrooms, fund student performances, and create various art projects that foster creativity, innovation exploration, self-expression, and social and emotional learning.

This year, we have three options:
(1) Arts Experiences Grant – up to $2,500 per teacher,
(2) Arts Materials and Supplies Grant – up to $500 per teacher, and
(3) Arts Experiences & Materials Grant – up to $3,000 per teacher.

Applications will be accepted between: SEPTEMBER 7, 2023 - OCTOBER 10, 2023.


A single teacher may apply for a grant in their classroom or a group of teachers may apply for a joint arts experience. Educators from all levels and content areas are invited to create projects that support stand-alone arts experiences in the five arts disciplines (music, visual art, media art, dance, theater) or integrate science, technology, history, literature or social sciences with the arts.

Young ArtsHigh school artistsGrants for young artists between the ages of 15 and 18 to earn up to $10,000 and receive recognition and support in performing, visual, or literary arts. The ten categories are: Writing, Design Arts, Visual Arts, Theater, Photography, Voice, Jazz, Film, Classical Music, and Dance. Writing encompasses creative nonfiction, novel, play or script, poetry, short story, and spoken word. Hungry for MusicMusic EducationDeadline is for Title I schools: Hungry for Music collects and distributes musical instruments, including brass, woodwinds, strings, electronic keyboards, drums, and other percussion instruments, as well as amps and accessories. Grants invite teachers to request donations of specific instruments for students. There are two teacher application periods, with one for music teachers in innovative after-school music programs and one from teachers in Title I schools with students who cannot afford musical instruments and would benefit from learning/improving instrumental music skills. In most cases, instruments are used and have been donated to Hungry for Music, which repairs them as needed. Description: TangerKIDS Grants provide funding for school programs that meet Tanger’s goal of supporting education, students’ futures, and fun in learning environments. Funding priorities include creating and implementing school-wide programs; purchasing new equipment or refurbishing existing equipment; increasing academic materials; and supporting athletic teams, band programs, and academic clubs. Teaching resources, uniforms, garden projects, special programs, and technology or related educational tools are also eligible for funding.

Previous grants have supported purchase of a cloud-based subscription to a music composition curriculum that enhances students’ ability to compose music; creation of a reading sanctuary with 13 different book collections; improvements to an existing butterfly garden; creation of vegetable gardens and a bird-habitat area; acquisition of stability balls for seating to promote focus, posture, and movement; and purchase of costumes and props for a local dance competition.

For all project types, we seek to fund initiatives that culminate in measurable student outcomes and sustainable systems change. Priority will be given to eligible proposals operating in the SPLC’s core states: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana and Mississippi. All Learning for Justice Educator Fund projects must utilize at least one Learning for Justice resource, framework or publication.
