HOW TO USE THIS D&D CHARACTER SHEET
2
3
Q1.
How is this sheet better than other things I'm using?
4
A1.
Are you using an app and wondering if this will replace it? Likely not, apps are amazing, I am using Fight Club 5 for my PCs and Game Master 5 for my DMing. HOWEVER, sometimes a classic one-pager can be more helpful than an app. As DM, it is helpful to be able to look at the stats or items of a PC in your party quickly. In addition, when playing virtually with a group, sometimes players cannot make a session and other players take on that PC for the session. This Sheet solves those problems. Or, maybe you don't want to use an app and want to go Classic and simple, this Sheet is a one-sheeter. Your character all in one.

Because each PC in a party can have their own one-sheeter within this on Google Sheet, an entire party can exist in a single document, all within a quick-glance.

Oh, and did I mention the one-sheeter is fully automated and customizable so weapon stats, AC, modifiers, and all that fun stuff is calculated without you having to lift a finger?

Q2.
Okay, so how do I use this thing?

A2.
(Cheat Code): Go to electronicbass.com/dd-creations/ and watch the video that walks you through the whole sheet set up.

FIRST AND FOREMOST: Go to "File" in the menu and "Make a Copy" of this document, and then work off of that copy as your own.

i) Make a copy of the "Character Sheet" for each PC in the party, and rename each adding a player or a character name to the tab.

ii) Start at the top and fill in all your character details (your Initiative and Level will automatically populate based on your XP). Fill in the Personality Traits box at the bottom of the sheet as well.

iii) Enter in your Ability Scores and check the checkboxes next to the Ability Modifier that is appropriate to your Character's Saving Throws.

iv) Enter in your coin, your HP and Max HP, select your Armor and Shield (if you have one) [your AC and item details will auto-populate].

v) Select your weapons from the drop-downs (weapon details populate automatically for you) -- Select the checkbox next to a weapon to mark if you do NOT have proficiency in it. If you have ammunition, select the type in one of the drop-downs and check off checkboxes for numbers above 20 and add any additional number in the cell after those checkboxes.

vi) Fill out the Proficencies area, selecting the appropriate checkboxes, the language drop-down, and typing in your additional proficiencies. If you gain additional proficiences or expertise you can check off the appropriate checkbox in the Skills box (the modifier amount, as always, auto-calculates).

vii) WHAT ABOUT MY EQUIPMENT?! Look at ROW 48, click the "+" icon and your Equipment list appears, drop-down selections exist there as well. The "-" will close it up for a clean look.

viii) AND SPELLS?! ROW 64 "+" for Spellcasters houses Spells and Casting fun ... drop-downs and auto-fill and the ability to keep track of your remaining Spell Slots and your Casting Ability type. You'll have to enter your own Casting Level (to account for some possible multi-classing in this sheet).

ix) Fill in the TRAITS area with your additional skills. You can add the level that you received that trait ability, if desired (depending on your character your traits may be numerous in a given trait).

x) I have ki points or want to keep track of my rage counts left, how can I do that?!? ... In the Attacks & Spells area, under Ammunition or Ammo/Other guess what? You can select those and keep track of them there.

Q3.
Awesome, anything else?
10
A3.
Yes. Let's talk BONUSES: Each area where you can add additional bonuses from magic or other has a "Bns" box where you can add a number that will add to that attribute (Armor, Shield, Weapon, Saving Throw, Initiative). Some magic (think "ring of protection") will need bonuses added in numerous areas.

Q4.
What if a drop-down list doesn't have an item I am using?!
13
A4.
You see that tab that says "Reference Sheet"? Click on that tab and find the table you want to update and enter in your item in place of one of the "CUSTOM" spaces made available in that table. One key note: For EQUIPMENT, there is a Table (Column P) that combines all Adventuring Gear, Weapons, Armor, and Magical Items so make sure to add to that if you want new items to appear in your Equipment drop-down options. For Weapons, Armor, and Shields, make sure to enter all information in that given table so it can populate correctly in the table on your Character Sheet where it appears.

Q5. I got a great suggestion of a feature to add, how do I get it added to the template?
16
Q5. On my website, electronicbass.com/dnd, you can submit any suggestions through the DnD Contact Form. I plan on releasing iterative updates, aiming for each new update to smoothly be able to be transferred from an already existing version to the next.

Q6.
Is that it?
19
A6.
Yeah, pretty much. Finally, you can click the arrow on this "HOW TO USE" tab and select "Hide Sheet" and then this tab will be hidden unless you go to "View" in the menu and unhide the hidden tabs.
