Matt Corral's ability to stay aware and maneuver
within the pocket is impressive. He does a nice job
staying calm under pressure and is able to keep
to give himself space to get away from pressure.
Corral has strong mobility for the position and is
able to routinely extend the play with his legs when
needed. His arm motion is fluid and he has the arm
strength needed to attack all over the field. He has
solid size and is a very physical runner that isn't
afraid to put his body on the line. Corral has shown
flashes of the ability to throw with good anticipation
and is able to squeeze throws into fairly tight
windows to hit his targets. He is accurate in the
short areas of the field and has solid touch ability
in the intermediates.
Corral's decision making leaves a lot to be desired
in terms of consistency. He will struggle to move
past his first read at times and will force throws
into tight coverage. He trusts his arm a bit much
and has a gunslinger mentality that will get him
into trouble. He struggles with overthrows when
attacking vertically and his ball placement is very
spotty in tighter coverage. His feet can get a little
inconsistent when pressure hits him up the middle,
causing him to rush throws and make the lives of
the defenders easier.

Matt Corral is likely going to be one of the first quarterbacks drafted in a fairly weak 2022 quarterback
class. He has a strong arm, solid mobility, and the awareness in the pocket that is coveted amongst
modern NFL quarterbacks. He can beat you with his arms and his legs, but he has to get better in his
overall consistency before he can truly make his mark as a top guy in the league. He has a gunslinger
mentality that can cause him to make really bad decisions resulting in turnovers, and he struggles to
consistently go through his progressions. His offense at Ole Miss didn't help him all that much, relying
on a ton of screen plays and RPO's, and he should develop in that area with good coaching in the NFL.
An injury in the bowl game might hurt his draft stock a bit, but Corral should be a 1st round pick due to
the nature of quarterbacks in the NFL. An exciting guy in a quarterback class full of average.
