14:38 13 Sep 2023MCPS3I love the science mentioned in the beginning. We are using this as our PLP for next year, so we will use these items. 8I'd love to know more about where this is going. I feel like I need to see the whole picture.  Also the snacks were great LOL Maybe something that is a bit more healthy? Fruit? honestly, I"m so appreciative for any snack, but my jeans are struggling lol 1. Please ask tables not to speak when others are speaking. It made it really difficult to concentrate / process! It's one thing to whisper a few times if someone is lost, but one table near me talked the ENTIRE time. Maybe have some group norms so that people are asked to limit sidebars. Even saying something like, "I want to make sure everyone hears that" etc. I know this is hard to do.  2. Sooooo many links. Could all links be in the capture sheet? It was easy to get super lost if you missed one link.  3. Need more of an idea of where this is going so that I can fill out our PLP.  4. Please add outcomes to each presentation so that we can measure if the outcomes have been met. I really enjoyed it! THank you!!!

14:33 13 Sep 2023MCPS5Great affirmation of what we're doing, and ideas to continue that workWe'll implement the staff wellbeing and student trauma informed teaching strategies 9It would be helpful to have a roadmap for the entire year. We're required to provide this to MCPS in our Learning Progression Plan.It would be helpful to have some common expectations for implementation at all schools. I'm assuming there will be some sort of measurement of effectiveness of this program. What specifically are all schools involved required to implement which will be measured at the end of the year?Very helpful. Thank you for all these great resources, and for the treats and time to talk

14:46 13 Sep 2023MCPS5Everything for me has been so realistic - it has given me the ability to think of how I can apply this to all staff (knowing that we have staff in various parts of their journey).   I am really excited about all of the resources and it is so easy to see how to connect the work to ALL aspects of our SIP.  TOOLS and STRATEGIES!!!!!!!10how to get buy in from staff especially if they feel constraints from the district with pacing, etc.the ability to have staff come that we would need to pay for a sub to attend :)LOVED IT!  ENGAGING!  Went by super quick and I learned a lot.

14:55 13 Sep 2023MCPS5Having a clearer understanding of the impact of trauma on everyone.  The brain research connects perfectly to Adolescent Learner from past years.  We plan to have PD on this for teachers. They will have a clearer understanding of trauma.  Hopefully there will be an understanding of why calm and non reactive responses are critical.10Response strategies for students when they are not in a place for learning.nothing - AWESOME!  Very informative, timely, and critical information.I am excited to start planning next steps for our school community. Thank you Meredith and Daphne!

14:55 13 Sep 2023MCPS5Really appreciated the science behind this training. It is so important to provide our staff with the resources necessary to be successful. Our school has obviously experienced a traumatic experience and it is important that we take care of the staff in order to best support our students and educated them on the impact trauma has on student's learning. 10Additional resources to help train staff and ways to implement the program. The only thing is more opportunities to plan with our team, while you are available for supportExcellent. This is exactly what we need.

14:56 13 Sep 2023MCPS5I love the science behind the work. It is powerful to back this up with science for educators who often only look through the academia lens for everything. Resources....resources....resources!!!10I would love to see or hear about examples of other schools implementation of the resources shared. Nothing at this time. I love our presenters. Very personable and knowledgeable. It always adds value to me when trainers are able to share personal stories to connect with their audience.  Thank you!!! 10XLove it!  Phillip

MCPS1None.Unsure.2N/AIt would be nice to learn actual strategies or lessons, rather than being instructed to look at articles and/or videos. I don't feel like I learned a lot. I felt like it was a refresher of what we already know should be happening in our schools, but I didn't learn a way to get buy-in from staff who already do not want to change their practices.

09 Nov 2023MCPS4Different aspects today are easy for us to adapt and apply to either a larger staff training, smaller setting, or can be tailored for our students to learn about.we are going to continue to weave this in our PD work with the staff as it supports the SIP.10How do we (or how have other school teams) been able to get resistant staff on board?  Maybe a smidge more movement.  Really well thought out and helpful.
44
MCPS4Reaffirming that all of the things we do to promote engagement are in fact trauma informed. But we need staff to commit to being consistent in these strategies. I think we need to focus some more on modeling the strategies in spaces and then processing with staff that it's a trauma-informed thing they can take back to their spaces. It needs to be less "staff meeting" working through slides to deliver this content. 10Tier 2? What's the best advice for teachers working with a student who is very visible in their trauma-response behaviors in class? And what do LEADERS need to shift in their thinking when they visit a classroom? Ex: a kid has his head down when admin comes to visit the room...and the only feedback admin gives the teacher is...why did he have his head down? how do you know that the teacher hasn't been consistently working to relationship build with that student and the fact that they came in the room at all was a win? how do we get the adults to measure growth and what effective instruction looks like when we know so much that students have to be well first before they can learn anything?nothing. very helpful and affirming. thank you!

MCPS4The importance of exercising positive regard, regulating and identifying your own triggers or brain composition before you are able to connect or begin to understand the students that you work with. Understanding the science behind brain development and the impact that is has in the classroom. 10How to address staff that demonstrate resistance and improve morale. Some staff are rigid in their beliefs, aren't willing to evolve and don't show care or regard. Nothing, I appreciated everything. The training was fantastic, practical and thoroughly engaging. I appreciate all of the information that was shared, the resources that can be applied and the science to further understand how to continue to put in the work and meet students where they are plus extend ourselves grace and understanding our of own triggers or adversities.
46
MCPS4Creating an engaging environment where are students feel safe and welcomed. Strategies to increase engagement and concrete examples of restorative practices. 10More information on helping staff who may be resistant to participateMore time as teams to work with other full teams on strategies they may be implementing- successes I really enjoy the information and feel like it gives good examples and opportunities to implement with our school communities.

09 Nov 2023MCPS4Taking care of adults helps take care of students. Taking care of students helps take care of adults.  This is the power of creating calmer schools. Emotional regulation and motivation are key components to unlocking student learning. 10I would love to see how some of the schools are engaging in the work.  I know you are partnering with PGC schools, I would love to see how the work is evolving in their schools.I wish I could bring my entire staff. I continue to be inspired and motivated to create trauma informed, trauma responsive learning communities.  Thank you.

14:36 11 Jan 2024PGCPS5The have a heart example. This example invites all staff to be engaging in supporting students with certain needs. There are many supplemental materials that support trauma informed schools. They appear to be "basic" examples but have an advanced  positive result. 10N/AI would have wanted to participate in the 3 activities as opposed to picking one for a group. I understand time constraints I just would have wanted to see the outcome of the answers from my group and others.  It is always quite informative and helpful. natasha.anigbo@pgcps.org

14:36 11 Jan 2024PGCPS5There were several... one is that there are categories of adults when it comes to implementation of new ideas. Another is that student behavior, regardless of how bad, is them trying to be seen. Everything cannot be controlled by you. And at times, even a small break can provide a great relief. I think my school will benefit from today's training as we are trying to build a PBIS program and the information given today specifically spoke to this. It spoke about types of actions, where they fall within the tiering and what consequences are appropiate.  10I'm not sure. All of the information is important and appreciated. It was perfect.Today's training was useful.raphael.richardson@pgcps.org
