Hi, I am a US-based web developer working on a project related to action-oriented activism that focuses on collaborative and systemic change. The project is intended to help people more easily answer and act on two deceptively simple questions for causes they care about: ”what’s going on?" and “how can I help?”

This spreadsheet is to gather links to legislative APIs for local governments when available. I am particularly looking for APIs for local governments within the United States for now, however please feel free to add state-wide APIs or APIs in other countries which could be helpful in the future. This is a public, collaborative spreadsheet, so please take care not to delete any work others have included. Thanks so much!

Steps:
1. CTRL F (or CMD F) to search this spreadsheet for the city/town you live in. If it isn't here already:
2. Search for the API on Google (or your favorite search engine)
3. Add the information to a new row on this sheet. If you couldn't find an API, just select "No API Available" in the "Status" column.

TIP: search for the city/town name with phrases like:
- legislative API
- legistar API
- legislation API
TIP: go directly to your town/city webiste and search for "API" and see if any of the results are related to the local legislation.
TIP: email someone in your town/city government and ask them directly (e.g. "Hi, I'm a resident and wondering if there is a public API for the legislation in our city/town. If there is, might you please send me a link? Thank you in advance.")
TIP: Existing databases or related organizations also welcome (add them to the "Databases / Organizations" tab).
