4	HABITAT FOR HUMANITY 2020 Springdale Rd. Waukesha, WI 53186 info@habitatwaukesha.org 262-309-6025	Habitat for Humanity of Waukesha County builds decent, affordable homes for families who are unable to purchase a home through traditional methods. We do not give houses away; we believe in giving a hand up, not a handout. By providing a home with an affordable mortgage, homeowners obtain self-sufficiency and overall improved family health and neighborhood pride. Without the help of our dedicated and caring volunteers, we would not be able to build as many affordable, quality homes for families in our community. Every year, we work with an average of over 200 volunteers who put in thousands of hours of service toward supporting our mission. You don't have to swing a hammer to help your community! We have ongoing opportunities at our construction sites and at our ReStore, but we also need help year-round with special events, landscaping, cleaning, and office projects.	ReStore Schedule. **Please ensure that you have completed the Waiver of Liability form before volunteering! If you have not completed the form, you will not be allowed to volunteer. The ReStore sells donated home goods (building materials, furniture, appliances, etc.) to raise money for Habitat's home building efforts. The ReStore is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. each week, with a variety of volunteer tasks available. Tasks may include cashiering, donation processing, assisting customers, creative projects, and more. What to Wear: Comfortable clothing that allows you to move. Long pants, closed-toe shoes, and a comfortable short- or long-sleeved shirt is best. Please no profane images or wording or clothing that exposes skin when you bend or stretch. What to Bring: Water is available on-site. Feel free to bring your own reusable water bottle, snack or lunch for break time, etc. We do have lockers for any personal belongings, but do not provide locks. Location: 2120 East Moreland Blvd. Waukesha, WI 53186	Construction. **Please ensure that you have completed the Waiver of Liability form before volunteering! Volunteers under 18 may not participate in demolition, use power tools, or work at heights above 10 feet (ladders, roofs, etc.) (As of April 2021) The home at 1116 White Rock Avenue is a partial tear-down reconstruction. Construction days are usually Tuesday - Thursday and Saturday most weeks, from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. What to Wear: Long pants, closed-toe shoes, and a comfortable short- or long-sleeved shirt that allows you to move. Dress for the weather and be prepared to get dirty. What to Bring: Bring your own reusable water bottle, snack or lunch for break time, etc. Lunch will not usually be provided except in the case of sponsored events. All tools are provided on-site. 6	RETZER NATURE CENTER S14 W28167 Madison St Waukesha, WI 53188 Holly at hglainyk@waukeshacounty.gov General Information: (262) 896-8074	Retzer Nature Center in preserving and maintaining over 450 acres of prairie, forest, wildlife habitat, nature trails and environmental learning facilities in Waukesha County. Special Events are held throughout the year in which volunteers are needed.	Apple Harvest Festival. Held Saturday, Sept 18 has 2 volunteer shifts: 8:30-12:45 and 12:15-4:30 to assist with children's activities, as well as filling orders and directing custimers in our Apple Pie Sales and Apple Market areas. 8	WAUKESHA COUNTY, HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES	A variety of categories offer volunteer opportunities from parks and recreation to health clinics and speakers to social issues.	Telephonic Friendly Visitor Volunteer Provide a social connection to seniors recieving home delivered meals and wanting a friendly voice to talk to weekly. Volunteers make calls to Meals on Wheels customers weekly, track and report monthly volunteer hours. Training provided. Volunteers must be 18 years or older. Please contact Karen Straw for more information 262-548-7829 or by e-mail	Social Media Volunteer--assist with Social Media projects including updating websites, adding pictures and information about program areas, updating Facebook, Twitter, and other Web accounts, etc. Volunteer must be 18 years old or older and have a personable and friendly demeanor. Location: Waukesha County Administration Center Applicant must be 18 years of age or older. Contact: sgriffiths@waukeshacounty.gov	Adopt A Highway. This program welcomes your school, scout troops, business, civic organizations, churches, families, and more to "adopt" a two-mile section of County Highway. Three times a year from April 1 to November 1, your group clears litter from your section of County Highway "right-of-way". Full bags of refuse are left along the highway for prompt pick-up by our crews. Recyclable items are yours to keep, if desired. Free of fees There is no charge to adopters. Your group's name appears on a roadside sign at your section; garbage bags and safety vests are provided at no charge. We are an equal opportunity provider and will help everyone we are able to, free of charge, and with complete privacy. We understand that after bills, rent, or unexpected financial troubles, many people are left with very little money, if any, for food. Our mission is to help people through those times. Waukesha Food Pantry helps many Pewaukee families.	Pack bags and boxes with dry goods, sort donated food from individuals and grocery stores any time.	Help distribute food to recipients on Monday through Friday 1:00-3:00, Monday nights 6:00-8:00, and/or Saturdays 9:30-11:30. Sign up as your schedule allows, a weekly committment is not needed.

Seniors and adults with disabilities are supported by volunteers of all ages to help them maintain their independence. Era helps individuals 55 and older stay engaged in their community through a variety of meaningful volunteer opportunities. Times and Days are flexible--whatever works for you. 16	ON HOLD AT THIS TIME--NO OPENINGS PEWAUKEE FOOD PANTRY 642 Main St. Pewaukee, WI 53072 (Gethsemane United Methodist Church basement) foodpantry394@gmail.com 262-893-8241	The Pewaukee Food Pantry was established in 1983, serving about 200 families a month. The food pantry is currently struggling to serve the number of families in need. For example, each week we distribute 250-300 cans of soup and vegetables, 50-75 cans of fruit, 50 boxes of cereal, 100 cans of tuna, 50 boxes of pasta, etc. We find that during the extended-summer season – from May through October – is the most difficult time for us to keep food on our shelves. School is out, so demands are up. Families are on vacation, so donations are down drastically.	Food Drive postponed until October 2022, 12:00-3:00. The Post Office will pick up donations from homes and drop off those bags at the PO for unloading and sorting, then loading to transfer to the food pantry.

18	International Institute of Wisconsin Holiday Folk Fair @ State Fair Park, Expo Center Contact: Lilly Kenfield 414-225-6220	The Holiday Folk Fair, is a family event held all weekend with 3 areas of entertainment; ethnic food, dancing and gift shop.	Volunteers needed November 18-20, 2022 to work with vendors serving food and beverages, at guest sign-in or giving directions to guests
