A good team effort tonight against a skilled Fall Mountain team. Most notably, our defense kept Fall Mt., which includes one of the top D3 players in Ryan St. Pierre, to zero shots on net. The defensive shutdown was led by sweeper Ned Metcalf but sustained by marking backs Brian Hauschild and Tom Echelberger along with stopper extraordinaire Liam McNicholas. The scoring opened on a great defensive win by Riley McNicholas in our own half to launch a counter-attack down the sideline to Fleury. Fleury then picked up his head and knocked a great cross to Rouleau, who calmly tapped the ball into the back of the net. The 2nd goal also started with a Fleury cross that Auger headed down into a great save by the keeper, that Auger then followed up on for the goal. Fleury's PK was well-earned, after he was dragged down on a baseline run to goal. Fleury's 2nd goal came on a nice pass from Rouleau to Fleury about 25yds out, with which he took two touches on the ball before a solid finish. McNicholas' PK goal was also a well-earned goal after Auger was dragged down on a goal line run himself.

Tonight we faced our toughest competition yet in a skilled and fast Campbell side that had a number of dangerous chances in the first 20 minutes. Once the game settled down, however, we managed to do much of what we've been working on - playing quick touches offensively and being well-organized defensively. It was also nice to see us respond to their PK goal by scoring three more goals before time was out.
92
Our first goal came via a defelction on a low, hard shot by our stopper Liam (who would also be a good pick for star of the game). On the 2nd goal Fleury hit a frozen-rope of a cross from the corner to a cool and collective header by Rouleau. The third goal was a big goal, as it came after the half and seemed to break it open a bit. On this goal Riley beat four defenders before tapping it past the keeper. .
93
Rouleau's 2nd goal of the night came from an Auger baseline run. Liam's 2nd goal came from a calm volley off a Fleury cross to the backpost. Metcalf's end-of-the-game goal came on a 50 yard run from his sweeper position all the way through most of the Campbell team before he hammered it home from in close.
