VA, Berryville23526M1901/4/20119/19/20143.7196.39332 years0>6.2 yearsFailure very early in life. Possibly infantile or installation issue. 8/24/2013: Two microinverters are showing 0 MWh lifetime production. This does not seem to be an issue with the inverters, but rather Enlighten has apparently forgotten all data before 7/16/2013. 4/1/2014: Another inverter is showing signs of failure: Garage, middle row, second from left. Enphase has been informed. 4/4/2014: Enphase updated the firmware for the one malfunctioning microinverter and it now "functions", but it has gone from being the highest-producing microinverter in the array to producing about 6% less than it used to. 7/13/2014: Another microinverter stops functioning. Enphase first updates the firmware and then replaces the unit. Replacement completed 7/29/2014. 8/2/2014: Enphase put updated firmware into another microinverter. I looked for signs of a problem prior to the update and I did not see anything. They may have gotten some sort of early warning. 8/28/2014: Another microinverter stops producing. Contacting Enphase. 10/6/2014: Enphase replaced the non-working inverter and I installed it on 9/19/2014. This last replacement is called an M190IG, which appears to be simply an M215IG with a piece of cable to make it compatible with the M190 chain. I will track future failures of the remaining array in the next row and the of the M190IGs in their own section below.

VA, Berryville23525M1909/19/20146/16/20161.7443.53144 years0>2.5 years9/19/2014: Population of M190s has dropped by ONE since one unit was replaced by an M190IG and is being tracked below. 4/30/2015: Inverter on Garage, middle row, second from left stopped responding two days ago. I have now indicated a FOURTH failure and have contacted Enphase. 9/22/2015: Top left inverter in field started malfunctioning. This inverter was NOT reporting "Grid Gone" events. I have now reported my FIFTH failure to Enphase. 9/30/2015: Enphase updated the firmware in the inverter which was recently malfunctioning and it now produces normally. I have reduced the number of failures back down to FOUR. (The first THREE failures were reported in the previous row so this row only shows ONE failure.)

VA, Berryville24016M1901/4/20113/22/20176.2199.40250 years0>6.2 years6/26/2014: 16 M190 inverters moved from roof to field arrays. All are now connected to 72-cell panels. 7/26/2016: Top right inverter in Field Array failed to start. (FWIW temperature was 101.3F the previous day.) Enphase agreed to replace this inverter immediately since there was no way to communicate with it. This is the FIFTH microinverter failure. 8/26/2016: Inverters second from the right on the bottom row on the house failed in the afternoon with a "DC Power Too Low" event at 3:52 PM. The same inverter failed to start the following day. This is the SIXTH microinverter failure.

WV, Gerrardstown23524M1906/14/20114/22/20164.86116.571111 years0>5.8 years4/21/2013: Three inverters reporting very low or zero power. No replacements, yet. 5/6/2013: Still no replacements. Three inverters still near zero power, one slightly low. 7/4/2013: Now SIX inverters producing no power. Still no replacements. 8/24/2013 Now SEVEN inverters are producing no power. No replacements, yet, but I am moving these over to failures. 8/29/2013: Looking at this further: SEVEN current failures plus four previous replacements: 11 total.

Four replacements this month alone. 7/4/2013: One of the eleven previously-replaced inverters is currently not producing. 8/24/2013: Top left microinverter has apparently failed this month, but it has not been replaced (no current output, low production this month.) Marking as failed. Another is producing today, but low for the month (middle row, second from right). Top right microinverter is overproducing. Larger PV panel? 8/29/2013: All microinverters are now working properly. Three were replaced in August. Total 14 positions have had replacements. Post by owner on Enphase website indicates 15 total replacements. I'll use that for now.

Perhaps 1 failure in bottom left corner. 7/4/2013: One microinverter underproducing (Top group, bottom row, eighth from left.) 8/24/2013: Same microinverter mentioned 7/4/2013 is still underproducing. In addition, another microinverter is now underproducing (Top group, row above the bottom, third from the left.) 9/3/2013: Same two microinverters are underproducing as before (Top group, bottom row, eighth from left and top group, row above the bottom, third from the left.) Increasing total failures to THREE.

VA, Hamilton64D38011/2/20108/24/20132.81179.78290 years0>6.4 years4/21/2013: Added this system with 2 adjacent failures. (D380?) 8/24/2013: Interestingly, the monthly production numbers show a few microinverters producing WAY more energy than others (25 kWh versus 18 kWh!). This difference does not show on the lifetime plot. 9/3/2013: A bunch of microinverters are having trouble communicating with the Envoy. The site reports three of these communications issues. No way to update. 4/11/2015: It appears to me that the inverters in this array were replaced in May 2014, but I have no way to be sure. No updates to entries for this system.

VA, Middleburg23050D3801/14/20119/3/20132.64131.83159 years16 years4/22/2013: Added this system with 2 pairs of adjacent failures (M380?). 7/4/2013: 5 more pairs of adjacent failures replaced very recently. 8/24/2013: Strangely, I only see 12 total failures today, which is two lower than the 14 I saw on July 4. This, even though two of the twelve failures appear to be within this month (August). Perhaps there have been multiple failures at the same location? 9/3/2013: One inverter is failed right now and I see 14 total positions failed. The one current failure is in a location which has previously failed. Upping total to 15.
26
IL, Troy23016M1905/5/20119/3/20132.3337.3266 years0>5.9 years7/8/2013: TWO failures previously replaced with THREE microinverters currently not producing. 9/3/2013: I see FOUR replacements last month, not three. That brings to total failures to SIX. Also, one inverter is outproducing all the others by 30% (10.2 kWh versus 7.8 kWh for past seven days), but only very recently, since lifetime numbers are the same. (Top row, fourth from the left.) 4/11/2015: I am reporting an Envoy failure in Februrary, 2015. (Although it is possible the inverters were being upgraded, but I doubt anyone would take so long to do that.)

Replacements being sent by Enphase. 9/1/2014: Owner reports the units were actually D380s, so I am upping the failures to SIX. Also reports TWO more are not working properly. 4/2/2015: Updated report date to today without an owner report. Likely incorrect. Hopefully owner will update. 6/15/2015: Owner updated that now half of the units have failed.
