THE USUAL RULES APPLY

1. All choices are completely subjective and apply to me only. If I haven't put your favs first, live with it and go make your own list where they're at the top

2. The lists were correct at the time they were made but are subject to change depending on mood. Overall, the choices are sound though

3. All music is categorised according to Spotify. If they say it's a single, despite it having 9 tracks or whatever, then so do I (even if it is really annoying)

4. I don't faff about trying to decide whether a featured artist has 1 line or half a song. All artists greater than a single person are classified as a band to save me time

5. Yes, I will have missed some songs. I tried to capture as much as possible but with so many it's impossible to remember everything and there are some bands I don't like (crazy, I know)

6. Yes, it's all boy groups/male vocalists. I don't listen to girl groups/female vocalists much as I'm less keen on female voices and don't have enough hours in the day to work out which, if any, are worth listening to*

7. Yes, I'm a complete sucker for sad songs, romantic songs, and sexy songs. I also enjoy experimental music and silly and upbeat anime-style songs - I like all sorts so don't judge me

8. Yes, I really did listen to all these songs and many, many more

9. This year there's a change in category - Non-Native Language rather than Japanese by Non-Japanese artists. Artists are doing all sorts of stuff in all sorts of languages. So unless they're singing in English, they now go here if they're not singing their own language or are doing a mixture

10. If you want more exciting (not really) insights into my music interests and occasionally other stuff too, albeit not that regularly, then check out my

* I do have this playlist of female artists that I've been collecting since I started listening to Asian music. It's not awfully extensive, though

However, check out the Miscellaneous page 😎
