When I looked at the examples you gave from Goodyear I was troubled to see that the groups seem to increase segregation.
I thought that the idea behind ERG's would be to link people who would not normally easily interact with one another ie. people with different backgrounds, race, gender... The examples from Goodyear seem to do the opposite. I would be interested in meeting people of all kinds that have similar interests to me.

9/4/2020 15:19:23BridgesI am interested in supporting my BIPOC colleagues, my LGBTQ+ colleagues, and to absolutely provide other opportunities for employees to connect with each other. Years ago we had the after school employee led dance classes, workout groups, and even swimming at Firestone. It was an employee wellness program. I know that I used so many of these groups as ways to get to know the APS community. AND, I absolutely DID! I still have relationships with people that I would have otherwise not had the chance to meet. So, maybe we could reinstate this very much so missed program! I loved learning swing dancing, line dancing, and just moving after work! bipocExtremely interestedI could definitely offer music lessons, singing lessons, guitar lessons, dog training, and other random skill sets that I have including local history nerd life. Gosh. ANY would be wonderful-- But, people generally socialize more naturally when they have the opportunity to work together or learn something new. I love this initiative and it makes me excited after a long few weeks of learning. Please let me know if I can help in any way!

9/6/2020 10:27:32CrouseI would like to see ERGS which focus on
-supporting employees of color
-advocating for the recruitment and retention of high quality educators who are reflective of the demographics of the student body... I travel to many schools in the district. And I often find myself the only person of color or one of few people of color (amongst the certified teaching staff/related services providers) when I leave my home building. However, this is not true of the student body once I leave my home building. In addition, there are some departments within the district with little representation of people of color. I often wonder what is the unconscious message, what is the visual message we are sending to staff and students and what is the message they are receiving?
-encouraging the development of educators who are culturally responsive to students and colleagues
-providing support to colleagues who experience discrimination, isolation, and insubordination related to implicit bias and racial discrimination
-support in advocating for outcome based student discipline measures that discourage the school to prison pipeline
-encourging dialogue among people from different backgrounds who are interested in promoting racial equity
