Years ago we had the after school employee led dance classes, workout groups, and even swimming at Firestone. It was an employee wellness program. I know that I used so many of these groups as ways to get to know the APS community. AND, I absolutely DID! I still have relationships with people that I would have otherwise not had the chance to meet. So, maybe we could reinstate this very much so missed program! I travel to many schools in the district. And I often find myself the only person of color or one of few people of color (amongst the certified teaching staff/related services providers) when I leave my home building. However, this is not true of the student body once I leave my home building. In addition, there are some departments within the district with little representation of people of color.
